Well you're definitely not the only one! I'm logging for the first time in months. I was banded on 2/21/12 and am nearing my one year mark and have "only" lost around 40lbs. I know that's still good, but I know it could have been better. I was in an accident in October and I actually gained a few pounds back, but I'm determined to get back into the swing of things before my one year doctor's appointment later this month. Looking forward to giving and getting support again!

Surgery 2/21/12 - 265 BMI 41.5
2 weeks 3/6/12 248.5 BMI 38.9
1 month 3/21/12 243.5 BMI 38.1
6 weeks 4/3/12 240 BMI 37.6
8 weeks 4/17/12 237 BMI 37.1 (First Fill Today)

We have a lot in common. I had my LapBand Surgery in Mar 2008 and lost 45 lb quickly and just stopped for no good reason. I dug out all of my original information from my surgeon and REALLY read through it all again. I couldn't believe how far I had strayed. Just reviewing what I needed to do was helpful.

Welcome to the team. You really should see your surgeon regarding what his post op suggestions are. All surgeons are different. Mine told me to eat four times more protein than carbs and fat. He didn't really give me a calorie count. Just don't eat any white stuff. No rice, pasta, flour, or potatoes. However, potatoes are good for you so I do sometimes eat a baked potato. Of course we all know not to eat sweets but sometimes we fall off the wagon and do it. I am in the same boat you are but I did get to goal. I have now regained about 60 of the 120 pounds that I had lost. I quit using the food tracker and quit exercising because I hurt my back and never got back into.

I would suggest using the food tracker for a week or so so you can see where you need the most help.

Welcome and you can do this.
I agree with you seeing your surgeon and a dietician to help you design a mealplan for you.
You will find lots of help and advice here, along with wonderful people.

AIRREEA, are you still seeing your surgeon? If not, I recommend you make an appointment to see him/her ASAP and discuss your issues. I know my surgeon encourages all of his patients to see him if things are not going well. So far I've not had any need to do that, but he has shared situations like yours and he has been able to get the affected person back on track.

Hi there. It's good to see you.

It's hard work with the band and many of us reach a plateau. the best we can do is to eat healthy, drink plenty of water & exercise. Stay away from the bad foods like the sweets and fried foods, etc.

My weight loss is much slower because i can't exercise as much as i did 2 years ago.

So I have been a spark team member for years now and it just clicked. I started my band at 242lbs in December 2009. I realized that I have abused and depended on the band itself to lose the weight which is why I cant keep it off. The lost weight I have reached is 182 I think. My sister and I started at the same weight and had the surgery a year apart and she weighs 160. I drink soda, eat cookies, everything I'm not supposed to do while I sit here and wonder why the scale keeps going back up..duh Airreea !!! So I say all that because I am detemined to lose the weight on my own. I am not going to go get any more fills until I know that I will do what I am supposed to do. As of today I weigh 196 lbs and I refuse to ever have the scale say 200 again so my fellow banders please help me. I don't know what I am supposed to do I cant remember what the calorie intake is max carbs allowed and all that stuff. I will take any advice, support that I can get.

1ST GOAL MET:
3/5/10-199
UNDER 200 LBS! With lapband

7/18/13-206lbs starting Gastric Bypass

New Goal -5/16/10
No soda starting today until 5/30- I can and will say NO!

I need to do better tracking so today is as good as any day.

June 16th:
182.6 lbs
