emoticon Team! I love reading the supportive and positive tips, hints and ideas. My challenge went okay ... sort of. Yesterday my Husband bought a bag of different chips ... Straws. We'd never heard of them so, of course, I HAD to try "one". OMG it was good. I ended up eating 8 of the little buggers.

My weight goal was to maintain it at 115 where I was. I dropped about 5 more pounds, didn't change my goal weight, and have since picked up 3 of the 5 pound loss. And I feel fat again. But I'm not going to feel that way because I know 115 was the lowest I had been in probably 20 years. Life is truly a challenge but so very rewarding when we learn to care about ourselves in the right ways.

Have a wonderful day, Everyone!

Stephanie

Welcome to the newbies, glad you are here. The support here is great. Thanks to all. My three days off weren't great. I did resist some things, but not others. Back to work and my eating is more "normal" for me again. Will see how it goes this weekend.

Thanks everyone

Readnknit, you're doing great! Celebrate your success during the game & don't worry about the scale. That's what the other motivators on the SP site are for: when you need to feel good about yourself, even if the scale doesn't budge. Keep it up & you'll see results.

BTW, you ARE eating like a "normal" person. It's all the binging and fried and sugary foods that aren't normal. We just have a skewed perception in this society. As for me, I'm trying to redefine my idea of "normal." Hang in there!

I have really been having trouble this week. I ate 10 chips and veggie salsa and some trail mix during the super bowl game. I did not overdo it and even stayed under 1200 calories that day. I went from a low of 127.6 that morning back up to 130.2 the following morning. I only wish it could come off as quickly as it went on. Almost a whole week later, and I'm still at 130. Not very happy about it. It basically means I can never eat like a normal person ever again. emoticon

Boy everyone has been busy. I try really hard to stay away from the "snack" between meals, but must admit there are times I could eat the frig and everything in it. But then I remind myself that that's what got me into the fix that led me to this Site. And I love this site and Chef Meg's Cookbook, use it at least once or twice a week if not using the recipes as is at least using them for inspiration when I don't have a clue what's for dinner same as my other cook books both diet and regular. Have a great day, emoticon

My first time on this topic this week. Hubby and I just got back from the gym and I am at the end of day 3 of my GNC 7-day fat loss regimen. "Resist" has been my motto so far emoticon

I'm making several recipes this week: black bean and corn salad, baked chicken tenders and orange chicken for starters. I have to use up some chicken I have thawed! And I have to please an 8-year-old palate, as well as the adults. On Monday, I made pad Thai--with chicken. I just can't get into tofu. if you make the pad Thai, use the low-sodium soy sauce recommended, but not temari soy sauce. That changes the flavor too muc , and it's too strong for the kiddo.

I'm happy that I could make the pad Thai as an "emergency" recipe: I had all the ingredients on hand. That must mean I'm stocking my pantry in a healthier way, right? I'll take the victories wherever I can get them!

Keep up the good work, everyone!

Thanks, SDAILEY4, appreciate it. Had a dentist appointment for two crowns so I had to eat soft for lunch. Met some friends for lunch and was really hungry so I had a too large portion of pasta. I did go over my calorie range by about 150 but I only had a light greek yogurt for a nightly snack (80 calories). Not giving up.

For the last two nights I've done better. I did have a snack but it was baby carrots with some hummus. Stayed within my calorie range also. One day at a time.

Temptations affect all phases of our entire life like an addiction; mine is food. It calls my name until I give in or find another activity to preoccupy myself.

My tempting self starts in the morning. I have a large breakfast and am full. I start my morning cleanup-the-kitchen routine and spot the bananas hanging on their holder. All I can think about is that banana with peanut butter. I'm still full from breakfast!!! Sometimes I talk myself back into sanity ... sometimes I eat the banana. Crazy, huh! This week is "hands off the banana until snack time!"

Have a great day, Everyone!

Stephanie

I have to resist the urge to eat when I get home from work. A small snack is one thing but not what I have been doing.

LAC936, I have made this for myself several times and really like it. Normally have with a serving of berries and an English muffin. And of coarse my coffee. Have a great week resisting, I plan to. emoticon

RESIST: to fight against (something) : to try to stop or prevent (something); : to remain strong against the force or effect of (something) : to not be affected or harmed by (something); to prevent yourself from doing something that you want to do.

There are so many temptations we face daily. We need to resist and remain strong. This week's challenge is to stay focused on our goal and resist the temptations for one week. (It's easier one step at a time.)

This week's Cookbook recipe for me is the Egg-White Omelet with Spinach and Mushrooms on page 89 of the book. Only 90 cal, 1.2g fat, 3.2 choles. and 19.1g fiber. Add a little fresh fruit and a piece of low calorie bread for a delicious meal, doesn't just have to be for breakfast.

Six more weeks of winter according to Groundhog Punxsutawney Phil.

Have a great week team!
Laura
