I have to admit, it turned out more like chicken soup, not stew. The broth was good, the spices were right. I think to make it more stew-like it needed to be thickened a bit.
All in all, it was good. I think that next time, I would use fresh garlic.
I'm glad that I used my own chicken stock. Otherwise, I think that with just water it would have been much too bland.
I'm always the kind of cook to try a recipe without adding, or taking away something the first time. Then I will try again, making a few changes.
So, next time I will thicken it with a little cornstarch, to make it more like stew.
