An easy way to check: look at the number of carbs. There are no carbs in meat to speak of but noodles is another story.

No need to track the cup of noodles. It is included in the recipe. I'm happy to answer any other questions that are related to the cookbook!

I believe the calorie count includes the noodles.

I wish I had an exact answer. Perhaps someone else does. The only thing I would do would be to find the calories in the lean beef and the calories in the chuck. The difference between the two (depending on amount) would give you the desired number of calories.
I hope you get the answers you need.emoticon

I was wondering how much of a difference making this with extra lean ground beef rather than cut up chuck would be.

I made this recipe yesterday. It is very good and not that difficult. I actually cut up a chuck roast one day and then made the dish the next. My questions is this, does the tracker just measure the meat? I have been adding a entry for the cup of noodles, but I'm not sure it the noodles are included or not. The cookbook shows one serving as being a cup of the sauce and a cup of noodles.
Thanks for checking.
