The egg white sounds like a good idea also. I loved your idea of having DH go thru the cookbook for things that sound good to him.

I like your suggestions. I did wonder about cutting the apple in 1/4 inch pieces. I think I will grate them and let the mixture sit as you suggested. I loved the taste and can't wait to try this recipe again with your ideas. Thank you!

You could try adding an egg white to the mixture. It should help bind everything together so the patties don't fall apart.

My husband went through the cookbook and listed the recipes he most wants me to make. This is one of them, and I'll be making it soon. Thanks for the review.

If you add more Panko you might make the mixture too "claggy".. Maybe if you cut the apple smaller or maybe grate it, the patties might hold together a little better. It might be good to let them sit for say 1/2 an hour, they could firm up more with the breadcrumbs soaking up a little more of the moisture.

Loved the taste of this recipe, especially the yogurt sauce! Even my DH liked it and he hates fish. I did have a problem getting the patty to stay together. Does anyone have a suggestion to help the batter bind? Should I use more Panko or add some moisture? I've had this problem with fish cakes before and would love any and all suggestions!
