DH was definitely concerned about how this recipe would turn out, as he makes a very delicious (but very fattening) version. To our delight, it was totally delicious. It's definitely a different taste, but so good!
I like onions and garlic chopped in my m&c so I added them. I also used smoky Gouda cheese, did not add the bacon, added black pepper too to give it taste. I omitted the cayenne pepper. The way I cut it, I now have enough for 8 meals.

What a fabulous dish! YUMMY! Warm, and enjoyable, for a great fall day in need for comfort food. With low fat, low sodium, and 4g of fiber, a very nutritious dinner, along with green beans. You don't even have to feel guilty about a second helping.
I did not add the turkey bacon, so added 2oz of muenster cheese., and chipotle seasoning instead of cheyenne pepper is better tasting--in this family's opinion.
The instructions were easy to follow, and everything worked out as the instructions said. I love it when a recipe comes together!!
