We've decided to get treatment at CTCA. We were really impressed with their holistic approach, outcomes, and their emphasis on the patient/family experience. Radiation, chemo, and massage all start this week. The sooner we start the sooner we finish. I'm looking forward to celebrating our 21st wedding anniversary later this year and dancing at our party with my hot, healthy husband.

Hi all. I've been gone for a week. We went to CTCA for a 2nd opinion. I think CTCA is a better option for my husband who's into complimentary and alternative therapy. I'm still reseraching the ketogenic diet, but it wasn't mentioned during our visit. I'm hopeful...

I purchased 2 boxes of GS cookies and almost polished off 1/2 a box of those iced lemon cookies. At some point this emotional eating must stop or I'll have an even harder time getting my weight under control. Why is it that when people find out about my husband's cancer diagnosis, they want to tell me about all the people they know who've died from cancer? That's just mean. People can be so stupid.

I'm researching diets to inhibit tumor growth. So far I've found macrobiotic, ketogenic, and raw. I've been on the raw diet, we didn't like cold food all the time and warming the dishes didn't help. Any suggestions

I'm feeling a bit more in control today, a tiny bit. I'm trying to figure out what our 'new normal' will be. Is this it? I can see myself gaining without end because I'm an emotional eater/binger. I literally eat my feelings. I haven't worked out since before Christmas, and know I need to do something everyday. We have a treadmill, a BOSU, a stationary bike, and a cardio stepper in the basement-so I don't have any excuse not to workout. I want to switch to being one of those people who starve themselves and workout like a race horse when they're stressed. I'm sure that's just a learned stress response too.

My hubby came home from rehab on Tuesday evening, and it's been different. He seemed very alert and oriented, even bored in the hospital. Now that we're back home, he really does need constant reminders and supervision due to his impulsiveness and disinhibition since the brain surgery. I'm afraid of losing all my FMLA in the first few weeks. I'm going to talk to my boss about working 12 hour weekends. At least that way I'm only using 2 days of FMLA during the week. I'm staying positive and believe my husband will be fine.

Spent the weekend at my familys lake house. Got in lots of exercise even a lil tubing. (being pulled behind a boat on an inner tube just in case we have a few unfamiliar with what that is) Super proud of myself for eating healthy..and avoiding the junkfood that was everywhere. GO JENN!! I hope you are all having a GREAT Labor Day.

I had a great day. I went to workout at the YMCA despite the feeling that I just was to sore to do it! MY very FAVORITE trainer was there. I walked through the door and he gave me the look. I am not allowed in the weight room until I smile. That smile was the start of a wonderful workout!

My mom went to the doctor with her hip today. The news is she will be having a total hip soon! I am kind of excited because she loves being active and hasn't felt like it at all.

I hope everyone is having a great week! We can do this ...make lemon aid today!!emoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticon

We could come here to share a bottle of water. We could talk about anything and support each others healthy goals! Hope you will chat with me!emoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticon
