My number 1 reason is to be more mobile. A year ago I was hobbling around and living on hands full of Motrin. I started working out 3 times a week last April and the exercise has helped me tremendously. I don't hurt anymore and I can move quickly after standing up instead of walking bent at the knees and back until I loosen up. My posture is better and I am stronger. I didn't lose any weight, because I was still eating horribly. But now I am ready to tackle next.
Number 2: I got blood work that showed I have a fatty liver. I have had this for a while, but this time it is serious enough they want me to see someone about it. I am going to take six months to DO something about it. If I have another bad test then I will see someone. But I think I can fix it with proper diet and weight loss instead of the medication that they will want to use.
Number 3: I am tired of shopping in the Plus Size part of the clothing store. I intend to change that forever.
Sometimes I may dread exercising, but I NEVER regret exercising.
Your discipline is your freedom...

Well, we're not having any other babies so there's that. I can make it all the way, finally. Before son #4 I got to within 15 pounds of my goal weight. I gained a lot (all of what I had lost plus more) during that pregnancy and am now ready to get it off. I don't want my boys to ever be embarrassed by my appearance. I want them to know I make good health and exercise a priority.
Of course, I have superficial reasons as well. My husband's 20 year high school reunion is in July, I want to wear cute clothes again, stuff like that. It clicked for me back at the end of October and I'm not turning back!
Goals (start date 10/25/12): 10 pounds lost - 12/10/12 20 pounds lost - 01/21/13 30 pounds lost - 03/11/13 40 pounds lost - 50 pounds lost - Final goal -

I could just copy DANILYNNG's reasons. I also have long since been diagnosed with Hi BP so it is inportant that I do whatever I can to avoid heart disease. My father died @ 58 and I have lost my only sister and 1 brother because of heart disease.
