Thanks everyone for the well wishes. The surgery went fine, but I am a lot more sore than I expected. Hopefully I will feel better and stronger everyday.

Oh my goodness KJ I hope you have a fast and full recovery!

I am super excited to get my gall bladder out tomorrow. I am a little worried because the doctor seemed concerned that it may not fix my nausea problem, but we have to try.

Happy New Year everyone! I hope yours is blessed!!!!!

Thank you all for your thoughts and concern

Candy I'm wishing you a speedy recovery.

I Feel a little stronger today - I think my lungs are stronger today may be able to get off oxygen soon! I guess I can really start from the bottom with the new year will start with steps instead of minutes....

Food still does not have any appeal. Will try to keep healthy choices.

I ended up in E.R. yesterday thought I was having a heart attack but within hours they had me in surgery and removed gall bladder kind of slowed me down as complications have me on oxygen for a while with no energy.

HI everyone. I am late for Merry Christmas... But I do wish you all a Happy New Year!

Sorry I have been absent. I have been feeling so bad I have just been laying around watching TV. (I usually watch less than 4 hours per week)

The bad news is I still have a gallbladder. The good news is it is coming out on 12/31/13. I didn't want to start my New Year out as post operative, but I will be glad to feel better.

I hope you all had a good holiday which ever one you celebrate! I have been eating and not exercising. emoticon I may be sick, but it hasn't slowed down the unhealthy eating.

My job is ok. I am "floor support" for a large insurance company. A lot of days I don't really do much and the soy isn't great. It's not very fulfilling work. I accepted this position hoping it was a chance to get my foot in the door. I actually work for a temporary agency and amt dying to get hired permanently as an internal instead of external. We'll see what happens.

I love my job. I know I have it really good. This year was special because all my projects went live in Nov - Dec.

Today I got my new laptop - Real nice ultra thin. Friday my desktop gets replaced with new hardware. I like the lighter more powerful and faster laptop.

I used to work at a University where they would close down over Christmas. They gave us Christmas Eve, a Day, and the day after as well as New Year's Eve and Day for free and we had to use two or three vacation days. It was be to have that much time off without using our vacation days. So now it just seems normal to be off work. I no longer work there but have taken Christmas week off for the past two years. Next year I'll have to see what we do. It's different now with my daughter being so far away. If she can't come home for Christmas I might now take that week off.

Enjoy!!!

I actually avoid taking time off between Christmas and New Years. So many people take that week off - work is quiet and sometimes we may just have fun at work. One year I took over a high tech training room and had co-worker friends bring in some food and goodies. We watched Godfather, Christmas Vacation and Midway. I got feedback a couple of months later (annual review) - my boss said he was told to tell me not to do that again. The Sr. VP could hear the battle scene of Midway while in the Mens' Room.

Good to be really really good at your job - you get away with a lot.

It's been forever since I took two weeks In a row. I took a week off to take my daughter to Phoenix last June, but they didn't feel like vacation. I only have to work four days this week them I'm off for 10 days. I have to work toe days then will have New Year's Day off, I'll be taking part of they time unpaid, but it willbe worth it to spend time with daughter.

This is the first year in the last 30 I actually took two weeks off for vacation - we elected to spend it driving equipment to Florida for a convention we were attending, Then took time off to take grand daughter to Seattle for medical care and then bring her back. I still ended up cashing out 80 hours so I wouldn't lose it. I am just thankful to have a job I like when so many people are much less fortunate. I have so much to be thankful for this year!

Me too!!
I get 20 days vacation to use during the year and can roll up to 5 over. If I have more than 5 they will pay me for them. So next year I'll have 25 days.

Winter Storm tomorrow - expecting 6 inches of snow - woohoo...

I stopped tracking a little this weekend but am getting back on track today. It's cold here and we got some snow yesterday. I like looking at the snow but hate driving in it, I really hope the snow doesn't hinder my daughter from getting home. We are looking forward to seeing her.

I didn't do any exercise on Thanlsgiving, other than running the vacuum and mopping. I tracked everything but was over. Yesterday I did a short strength training DVD. Today I have been lazy so far. I am planning to start all of my streaks over on December 1st too.

Candy - Great job on getting to the gym! You're braver than I am. My Black Friday shopping consisted of getting groceries and that wasn't even until early afternoon!

Of course I have not been within my calorie count in the last two days. But I am shooting for it today. I counted my Black Friday as exercise, you may think that is lame, but after 13 hours I was more sore than I ever was from a gym workout. LOL I think I will start my streak over on December 1st to make it easier to track. I am excited to see how long my streak will be this time.

I took my workout clothes with me this morning and went straight into the gym after work. I already have my clothes packed for tomorrow.

Paul, while your statement maybe true, it is also exactly the reason we need to get serious about losing this excess weight...

I just chuckled out loud. I realized that if I lost the equivalent of a Nancy - I'd still be obese.

I'm sorry you guys are struggling so much. I'm not doing too bad. I'm still tracking food, even if I know I'll be over. Maybe our December challenge should focus somehow on getting beck on track. We can do this, we just have to keep trying and never, never give up.

It sounds like we all struggle. Paul you sound like you are reading the story of my life. I have my "talks" with myself before I go to bed and when I am getting ready for work. Then an hour later I a gorging some calorie/fat infested garbage that is poison to my body. For the most part I have no self control. Right now it is worse than it has ever been. Sometimes I have a big pity party and decide to give up on trying to live healthy completely. But then common sense kicks in (briefly) and I have "the talk" with myself and vow to do better. Then I come on here and try to convince you all (my understanding friends) that I have figured things out I have a plan and that this time I can succeed. Flash forward on hour, a day or perhaps a week and I am knee deep in candy, ice cream and various fried delicacies ashamed to show my face here again.

All I can say is that we need to just keep trying, never give up totally and be here for each other through thick and thin. (Sorry I couldn't resist wording it like that.) Keep fighting friends!!!
You have no idea how much your support means to me. Hugz Nancy, Kathy, Jan and Paul!!!

I really struggle. I think about losing weight everyday. Every shower I resolve to eat right and exercise more. Every drive into work I plan on skipping McDonalds and Dunkin Donuts. Every month I share this or similar post.

Two years on Spark's or maybe three - I have lost 0 pounds. I have eaten hundreds of donuts, I have eaten over a hundred McDonalds breakfast sandwiches, I have eaten close to a thousand or more fun size candies, and so on.

I really not sure I can or want to lose weight. Not the best state of mind.

Know what you mean about the cold. Really cold here too, and makes it hard to head out for morning walks. Too dark after work, and I just want to curl up with some comfort food.

Just hung out this weekend. Cleaning, cooking, shopping and football. Really windy on Sunday and we lost power for a couple of hours. Fortunately it came back on soon enough so I didn't have the excuse that I needed to eat everything in the fridge because it was going to spoil.

I'm doing okay with exercise. I need to get better control of my eating. I am tracking but still going over most days. It doesn't do any good to track if I keep eating when I'm out of calories! emoticon

It has been so cold this past week - does not motivate me to get moving.

Worked this weekend. Went to a Red neck wedding celebration after work Sat.
Did ok with watching what I ate Sat.

Put pot of 15 bean soup on wood stove Sat. am after soaking overnight simmered two days - went overboard and had extra bowl tonight at dinner. Ok Ok truth be said it was not the soup that put me over on calories - it was the carrot cake at work that I was to weak to resist or just try very small serving. I have to reign myself in again.

Having hard time getting exercise in. I have to just do it before I go to work. It is so hard for me to get back into that groove.
Kathy

I am having a lazy weekend. I did my grocery shopping one night last week so we didn't have to do that this weekend. We didn't leave the house yesterday. Today we went to the Firehouse for the last breakfast. Our local firefighters have a pancake breakfast every Sunday in November for a fundraiser. For $5 your get two eggs, two pancakes, sausage and coffee, juice, and milk. It's a good breakfast, especially for $5.00!

What is everybody doing for Thanksgiving?

Candy - I sometimes have trouble acting with class. I have to really remind myself not to stoop to her level. She is also opinionated and sometimes makes comments that hurt. My first instinct is to hurt back. It's tough being the grownup.

I agree. You can't make people act right, but if you handle yourself with class and grace you can at least give them behavior to model!

Candy - It really is. I really used to like her, we've always treated her as part of the family, even before they were married. I've decided that I'm not going to let it bother me. My son is coming for Thanksgiving and that's what's important.

I did manage 10 girly push ups and 10 sort of crunches. I hope to report more soon!

Nancy that is a bummer about your DIL. My DIL is great, my son is the anti-social one. Sadly they are getting divorced. I am heart broken for them both.

Paul - I believe the second statement is more likely to happen, you'll just feel like you did 100! emoticon I can't do them for a full minute, I just put the number I do before my arms try to give out and make me fall on my face.
