Its a new month with new opportunities!
So, how is everyone doing with fitness? I can't seem to get motivated to run, but I'm getting in plenty of other exercise. Does that mean I just need a running break? Perhaps. I'm much more active with the kids in the summer, and I'm burning plenty of calories with martial arts.
My main personal goal for this month is to track all of my food, even if I know I'm way o er for the day. That is hard for me. I don't really have a fitness goal, but perhaps make 4 martial arts classes each week? There. I set a goal.
I'd love to hear what everyone else is doing, even if it is taking a break.

I exercised all week and still gained a pound - I think I gained muscle. Anyway just going to keep going. I can do this.

ok. trying to catch up on all of the forums! The week after Easter I was doing ok. Very tempted by candy. Then, I just didn't want it anymore. Then the following weekend was my Chicago trip - that involved alot of eating out and not nearly enough exercise.

BUT THIS WEEK - I have busted out 3 days of 40 minute work-outs and I plan to make it 6. Calorie intake is much better as well - staying within goals for the most part! Internet and computer talking so I have been online and on Spark!! THINGS ARE LOOKING UP!!!!! emoticon

Glad to hear that Toni has been doing great with her walking!! emoticon

We can all do this!!! WE CAN DO IT!!

I am still doing my exercise videos. Doc suggested more time or more days - I do it 5 to 6 days now. So tried doing 2 workouts together - whew it was difficult so still working on that. I have a different video I will probably start next week - it is a little longer - still BIggest loser though.

Also, doing the sodium/potassium thing.

Yardwork counts as cardio and strenght training! Keeping active is the most important step; if you miss a scheduled "workout" here and there it doesn't matter so much so long as you keep your body moving!
I try to do lots of movement activities with the kiddos - helps keep them from being restless and gets me moving too.
I'm making some good progress... My hubby and I set an ambitious goal to lose 5% of our body weight in 17 days (inspired by The Biggest Loser). I am halfway there with time and weighed in today - Halfway there with weight!!! I know I don't really have much to lose, but it is fun for us to set mini challenges and see who comes out on top. It's usually him but it is also good for me because I have still made positive changes.

Went grocery shopping today and missed my chance to do my exercise video. But grocery shopping is exercise in itself somedays! I did workout the last 2 days and on Sunday we moved a bunch of branches and trees that had fallen the last couple storms we have had. I just try to keep moving!!

Decided to take my day of rest from exercise today as I hurt my foot jumping with the children today at work. Will get back on track tomorrow. Normally I rest on Sunday but I think my foot needs the rest.

Amazingly I haven't gained any weight even with all the celebrating we have been doing with hubby home. I think it has alot to do with more real food and less "convenience food", and also with my reduced stress level!
I will start weekly weigh-ins this week; my weigh day has always been Thursdays for some reason. I know I don't have much weight to lose (I am at a healthy BMI but know my body fat percentage is still a little higher than I'd like to be).

I finally got on the treadmill for 20 min and elliptical for 10 min. last night. I didn't do any additional exercise on Monday and Tuesday.....just busy every night. Hoping to do my dvd tonight! WooHoo!!!

Way to go you guys!!! sounds like we are all getting back on track. Last night I did the 28 day sparks boot camp dvd.....I really like it. I couldn't believe how out of shape I am,,,,I had a hard time even doing the warm up LOL but i think I'm going to like it the more times I do it. Oh and I lasted for 50 min. I just couldn't believe it.emoticon

ok, I finally feel like I'm getting back in the groove... 2 runs and 1 night martial arts so far this week! I'd like to get another run in, plus some strength training. My allergies are doing their best to kick my butt this week (mountain cedar is brutal this time of year) but I'm not going to let them get to me. I refuse to be defeated!

Happy to say that Dave and I went for a walk at the Mall again. It starts getting kinda chilly and dark by the time we can get movin so we didn't go walk outside. I just hope I can keep this up. Well, of course I can!!! lol

I have to admit, I've gained a few pounds over the holidays and I'm struggling to get moving on my goals. The kids have begun rehearsals for their play, which can be up to 4 times per week! I'm looking right now to find ways to get exercise on those days, but it will take some serious rearranging of schedules on my part.
I actually do enjoy exercise, but cannot get motivated to do the early thing (it is cold on the garage treadmill at 5am!) and just am working to adjust.

I hear ya, it's so hard to get motivated again after not exercising for a while. Anyway it is for me!

Last night was great! Dave and I went to this mall that hardly anyone goes to and we walked for 30 min. then we went grocery shopping. I'm happy that he likes to come with....it gives us a chance to talk about our day. Also I didn't eat junk food in front of the tv.....that's a first in a long time. I'm hoping to do the same tonight....wish me luck!!!

Tami I know you can do this. Do your video again and get started on the treadmill. By the way why is it in the garage LOL!!! I'm going to try really hard to go on mine after the kids leave. Together, we can do it!!!emoticonemoticon your emoticon

Your welcome Toni! i was doing good til the stress hit...need to start a fresh day today! the weather is awesome! the warmest January ever! i may walk tonight if it isnt tooo dark b4 done tonight or Just Dance with my daughter??? need the boys to carry my treadmill in from garage tonight too...and i need to do the 10 min spark videos again ive done 1 on monday! urghhh its a chore for me!!!

Thanks for making this thread. So far today I eat healthy foods, and made better food choices. I still need to get in some good exercise. Hoping to go on the treadmill after the kids leave or maybe a walk outside.....it's beautiful outside today. Can't believe the weather we've been having.
