I have never used Kettlebells, but have heard that you do not want to go too light on them. Here is a Spark article written by Coach Nicole and has links to sites.

I was just checking some out on Craigslist and found some really cheap in my area. Not sure I will get them. I like my free weights, but need to get heavier plates.

Thanks for the advice- I have another questions for some feedback.... kettlebells. They are on sale right now and I want to get some for some workouts- on here they have some great workout suggestions but no one says what size to get. I want it to be do-able but challenging because I dont want it to be easy then in a month or two the size is far too small.... any ideas?

Doing them off the wall works. One thing I did to build up, and continue to do towards the end of many sets, is do them off a step. You can also do them off your lifting bench (if it stays stationary). The wall is not enough of a challenge for me now. You need to know that on the first workout I also ended up on the wall:) The diamond ones are actually easier for me than the wide ones. I have messed up elbows. Keep pushing, you will be knocking them out!

A quick question about modification help- I am not good at push-ups- honestly I have never been! So I can to the regular and wide push-ups on my knees but I can't do narrow push-ups correctly. My elbows bow out and I drop to the floor like a rag doll. SO today I was suppose to do them but I modified them by doing them on a wall with my hands close and concentrated on keeping my elbows in. Is that an acceptable modification? An emoticon y other suggestion? any idea on how I can get better at pushups?

Woohoo Meghan!!! Great to hear you are giving it a go. You can do it! The holidays are a tough time to be at the second half of it. I say keep your brain where you are today. Do that every day. Stay in the moment and don't stress over the balancing. You are strong and you are doing it!!! Happy New Year:)

SO starting in 2013 I will be restarting the 12 week program- I slacked off of the food in most of the second phase and I got behind in workouts on week 6/7- so with the holidays and trips, and general bad eating- I just sort of gave up. So I am restarting tomorrow at the beginning of the new year with a new drive and motivation. I will be taking my weight and measurements tonight. I hope that things go as well as they did the first time- I went to the store and got my healthy food but I am a little worried about balancing the schedule with work when I go back- but I will just do the best that I can. I am posting several new blogs today about my intentions for next year- I hope that you have time to take a quick peak and offer some support.
