LOL... woops:) We also have casein protein, but I have been taking the other stuff simply because I like the lightness of it (easy to down). Occasionally take the casein, when I run out. So not the one to answer this one:) I might try it for the next month and leave the other protein shake during the day to see what happens. Hopefully someone will chime in.
Thanks. I'm talking specifically about casein protein though. I have long since incorporated whey protein and take L-Carnitine daily. Jamie talks about starting to incorporate casein protein during phase 2 so was just curious if anyone was doing that. Casein protein digests slowly in your stomach and is a slow feed for your muscles.
I use CytoSport 100% Whey Protein Powder (buy it at Costco). Since I do weights at night I take a shake after my workout. Also take L-Glutamine/Creatine powder with water/organic apple juice. Since the beginning of this I have had a nighttime snack. Something with protein. Could be cottage cheese (can't eat other dairy), half a pita with peanut butter, handful of nuts, half a protein bar... I feel better and don't have cravings. I am not really a sweet craver at night. Usually a crunchy craver. Found that I can't eat veggies at night because it makes me hungry.
I will look around for what protein powders others are using and bump the post up (sorry, it will have to be a little later- have to run out).
I searched to see if anyone posted on this before and didn't find anything, but my apologies if it has already been covered...
Is anyone incorporating a before bed *snack* of casein protein while on this? It's something I have been eyeing but I am never usually hungry after dinner and I don't want to open up a can of worms and start craving it (something I read on BB.com about happening) or spend the money if it's not entirely worth it. But at the same time, I would also LOVE to take advantage and maximize my muscle building and fat shredding assuming it works.
Just curious... oh! And if you do, do you take it in the form of cottage cheese or in a powder protein? Thanks!!
