GO Brenda!!! LOL on the legs. Those are killer. I had my fair share of grumbling when the next leg day came up and I LOVE legs. Now chest, still not so much. Going to try and focus more on them now that I can't do cardio for a bit. Body can take some longer ST workouts:)
Sorry to hear about Zumba being canceled:( Colds are going around my work right now. Ugh, is it already that time???

I was going to rest yesterday, but I couldn't resist when I saw triceps and chest were on the menu! I was going to complete W3D4 tomorrow because I have Zumba tonight, but I just got a call from the instructor who's cancelling since she's sick. Boo!

Sooo, I guess I have time to do W3D4 tonight, which is pick your body part. I'm picking abs. My legs can't take any more just yet!

WTG Erin & LFF! You are doing fabulous.

Erin: I am with LFF on taking a week off after. I won't say it was tough, but rather strange when I finished LiveFit. Wanted to play my workouts by ear for awhile, but then found I liked a little more stucture and now I am back to playing it by ear. The great thing is you got a taste of several things and you can build on the stuff you enjoyed and worked your body. You can do it:)

LFF: Don't beat yourself up over the drinks. You have to have fun too:) Maybe you set out with a plan when drinking. Like I will have one or two, on x amt of days. You get the taste and can tweak the diet. Sometimes you just got to do it though:) WTG enjoying those arm WOs. You got some guns on you!!!

Day 39 down, love pumping the arms these days. Starting to get antsy to take 6 week measurements and stuff. Keep berating myself for drinking too often... I know how much further along I'd be if I'd just quit.

Congrats Erin! Would love to hear about your experience and what victories you've had.

By all means, dive right into researching some new plan for after this. I would recommend at least a week off of the workouts though. Keep up the clean eating, use that week to find something new (Spark's "bootcamp" or another BB.com plan or maybe something entirely new).

The clean eating isn't a diet, its a lifestyle. Hope you keep it up!

Great job everyone!

Finished my last monday of the workout! The end is in sight! Now trying to figure out what I will do after this because if I don't have a game plan I will nosedive and end up slacking off on my diet for a couple weeks until my clothes feel tight and then I will cry. emoticon This is the cycle I have done for the past year where I keep gaining and losing the same 5lbs. Bah.

Hi Erin,
Thanks. I just used a calculator based on the US Navy algorithm which uses body measurements.
www.healthstatus.com/calculate/body-
fa
t-calculator-navy

I'm too poor to go shell out $30-60 for a test just yet. When I need more precise accuracy (maybe as I reach my goal), I will check prices again, but this worked just fine for measuring improvement the first time through.

My goal this time is to lose at least 5-7% more. That will put me into the "fit" category.

Wow! 7% bodyfat?! That's amazing! Great job! I wonder what your results will be this second time around? How did you measure your bodyfat? Did you get dipped or do you have one of those squeezers?

Erin, that makes total sense. I havent thought much about the psychological ramifications of succeeding but not being able to maintain. I am a little worried about the micromanaging part- the workouts in that phase take so much time as it is, I am not sure how much more I will be able to devote. For now its in the plan as my goals right now specifically revolve around body fat percentage.
Last time, as I've said, I just continued with the Phase 2 diet structure and still did great through Phase 3. I lost 7% body fat that first time.

Right - as I am not training for a competition though and I am not trying to set myself up for disappointment I don't want to incorporate that. I've learned I need a manageable balance or else something in my life will suffer and if I started micromanaging my diet to that level I would probably hit an amazing number on the scale and be excited, but then I would get down on myself when I couldn't maintain it without 100% focus. If that makes sense. But, if I ever decide to do a fitness competition (ha ha ha!) then it is something to look into!

emoticon

Finished day 68 this morning. I did combine two days yesterday so am back on track. One more day until a rest and then the final two weeks. So excited!

you're not expected to continue carb cycling more than those handful of weeks. I'm pretty sure that would be dangerous long term. Its more like an example of what people do right before competition and such. I think it will be interesting to see the results but I'm not expecting those exact visual improvements to stick around. Being smaller, yes- being 'cut' no.
I like the leg workouts just fine except I always dread the lunges. they were REALLY hard for me the first time through- I have balance issues- and I've never quite shaken it (and still have balance challenges)
I completed my first round of Live fit at the end of April this year. I started a modified/reduced version(I had planned 8 weeks) nearly immediately after, however I had surgery a couple weeks in which limited what I could do and after that I separated my shoulder, which led to more limitations, and then I finally went on an extended trip at the end of the 3rd week in June. That trip was 7 full weeks off of strength training (I did hike 120 or so miles) but really with the shoulder issues it had been 8-9 weeks.
I am not sure a single week is sufficient between rounds either. I'd say its the minimum recovery time. I'm planning some kind of active rest after this round- probably 2 weeks for me. I also may do a 4-7 day extra rest after week 6 or 7 during this round. That's when I was really fatigued last time and maybe my body needs some extra downtime in order to perform better. I'll go by how I feel.

Honestly no I haven't really been. I try to stick to a slow carb way of eating and also eating clean. Last weekend we went on a mini-vaca and that entailed a lot of off plan veering. And, TMI I know, but it's AF week so I think that has a bit to do with it. I have no energy this week at all, despite being back on clean eating for 3 days and doing everything else right. I also kind of feel like cycling carbs, calories all that stuff is just not practical for me. I could do it the last 3 weeks and achieve whatever but it would quickly come back because that is not a way of life I could ever continue. I started this off only doing the exercise portion and then my own nutritional plan so I don't think I will change that at this point.

Are you not a fan of leg workouts? I really like them, they are killer though, that's for sure. I looked ahead to what my last two weeks are like...eeps! How long of a break did you take between starting it over again? I am not sure I could get psyched for it after only a week - but I really don't know.

Day 66 - phew. Got behind a bit due to the holiday (we did other outdoor workouts, I wasn't inside much) so my days are all screwed up now. I am only one day behind but it messed up my Mon-Sat, Sun off rotation. Boo. I might do a combination of day 67 & 68 tomorrow to catch up, we'll see how I feel in the morning.

I lost my motivation again so this week has been a struggle but determined to complete these last 2.5 weeks!!!

Yay! Erin! Yes, I hated plyo in Phase 3, but it does burn, burn, burn- especially with the sprint HIIT afterwards. Just two short weeks of it... You can do it!

me, I postponed by Day 19 WO (shoulders&abs). Partially from motivation as I wouldn't have let this stop me in round 1, but my shoulder is starting to complain with the heavy weights and my schedule wasn't conducive to fitting it in. So I shifted one of the two rest days and today between lunch workshops and evening yoga, I will be trying to complete the week's WO and end with one more rest day tomorrow. cross fingers that I get through shoulders without making it worse.

LFF - Glad you were able to get a good workout in safely!

Day 59 - can't lie. Phase 3 is kicking my @ss. Mostly because the active rest sets. I'm sorry but in what possible world is doing burpees considered a rest?!!?!? These workouts remind me of the days I took muay thai boot camp classes which got me into fantastic shape. Hoping these do too cause so far I haven't lost any weight and I'm tired of my roly poly middle!

Against rational thought, with my knees and shoulder hurting and a pinched nerve in my back, I still did Day 18 Legs today. I negotiated the walking lunges down to dumbbells and lower weight though, but at least the rest I could do safely with full weight.
Not so sure about tomorrow's Shoulder/Abs though... might need to wait another day...

Yes!! Thank you so much for that feedback that makes me feel a lot better. I will try and force down some casein protein tonight (the flavor I bought is disgusting but it was $34 so I'd better use it!) before bed and maybe that will make me feel more energized in the morning.

Hey all- don't forget to STRETCH after workout! I am warming up and Stretching consistently this round and its making a HUGE difference in reducing the DOMS /soreness compared to last time.
Wazzu... right where you are-- around week 7 or 8 I've noticed a lot of people (including myself) experienced extra tiredness and somewhat lacking energy. For me it lasted about 10 days and then I felt great again. I attributed to not eating enough to sustain the level of workouts, so I focused on eating more (like working in at least 3-4 egg whites at the end of the day).
Hope this helps...

Finished day 52 - chest/abs. Feeling good but for some reason this week I have zero motivation and I have to really force myself to do the workouts. This is rare for me because I love exercising and it's usually the one part of my game that is on point so not sure what's going on but trying to push through.

Hope everyone is having a great week!!!

i'm on day 10...legs & calves. still feeling mondays workout and yesterdays a little (though i was sore last night). looking forward to today's workout - my legs need a lot of work (espeically with having to take breaks with an ankle injury several times in the last year).

happy workout all!!

WTG Ali killing those legs!!! Very cool about that trainer at your gym. Pick away at that brain:)
I really didn't hit the need for a spotter until phase 3 and it was with the legs. I want that darn squat rack at the gym:) One day!

Did chest, abs and Insanity last night and I hurt. Kind of am in a constant state of soreness. My body is whipped:)

Pick that trainers brain for all its worth! that's awesome!
yep, there's a point where a spotter might be necessary. I went through the entire 12 week program my first time without one, but I wasn't apparently hitting the 80% max mark as I discovered how strong I really became at the end when my roommate helped out.

I am not keen on dropping the weight in favor of reps myself, but somethings gotta give at some point. so we will see what I can work out next week when I'm supposed to go up to 80%.

Hmmm...I didn't realize that some of the exercise require spotters. Good thing there are a few trainers at the gym to help out. Speaking of which, I just found out that one of them trains female bobybuilding competitors. He has a team of 18 military women. I pick his brain every time I see him.

I KILLED my legs today, but in a good way. I'm sure I'll be paying for it tomorrow. :-)

same here. i have backed off weight because of it and lack of spotter. bf gets cranky sometimes. maybe drop weight and blast the reps. that works for my calves. how is you definition in that dept? i am actually just doing standing calf raises with lower weight and pump em until i can't walk. i really do cry when i work them:)

Well, I wish it was just the indents... Problem is, my legs are stronger than my arms. I should be pushing 80-90# but I cant actually lift that much weight ONTO my thigh for the seated calf raises... This is where a gym membership might be handy, but right now I am flat broke after my trip. So I keep trying to come up with alternates, maybe I need to do something altogether for that exercise...

Here ya on the indents LFF. Hmmm, perhaps it is time to buy some padding for the bar, or maybe put a pillow there. Just a thought. I have bruised myself with these darn bars and weight.

For me, not sure what I am doing tonight. Last workout was back 30-something day. Funny because I haven't really thought in terms of days this time around with mixing up my rest days. Ahhhh, Monday has thrown me off:)

Day 10 Legs! added some weights but still can't figure out a good way to do sitting calf raises now that I need 60 or more pounds for each leg without having it dig into my legs. grumble grumble
