I'm just getting started also, this is week 2 for me. I have been doing a little of both. My job requires me to be in the car a lot so I've found it easy to have the boiled egg whites peeled and ready to grab and go in the morning. I can eat them during my windshield time. :o) I also buy the egg whites at Costco for days when I have time to prepare them with some veggies. My garbage disposal has seen its fair share of egg yolks. Good luck with everything!
Howdy Angela and welcome to the team! I generally buy egg whites in cartons - in bulk from Sam's Club or Costco. The local "muscle" store also stocks egg whites in bulk-- they even have chocolate flavor! Just not enough time to separate eggs all the time. Last week I bought an 18 pack of real eggs. I had run out of egg whites and only had 10 days to go before my trip, so I didn't want to buy bulk. separating eggs is annoying and yes, I just toss the dang yolks --though I do leave 1 yolk in if I'm eating 3 or more eggs. the yolk has way extra protein and just one of them isn't going to hurt your cholesterol levels or add too much extra fat (5 yolks would be bad!)
I got off track with workouts a bit due to traveling, so I am considering going back and doing Phase 2 over and then Phase 3. I have definitely noticed alot of changes in Phase 2 and I love it!
Also, I did not feel my cardio was quite up to par to give the phase 3 sprints my all, so that is another reason I want to continue with Phase 2 to build up my endurance a bit more. Pry not the best thing to do, but for me, I feel it is right now.
I never really did the 6th meal either, and I am in Phase 3. If I did I was not craving egg whites, so I just mixed some protein powder with water. I can definitely tell the extra protein has made all of the difference during this program.

OK so im on the other end of the spectrum here, LOL, but wanted to add my 2cents. I could eat all day everyday as a Food Addict all i need is permission and Im off and running. I rarely eat the 6th meal either though. I focus on getting the right amount of protein and unless i am short protein/calories (which is rare) I usually only eat 5 meals (my day is 4am-8pm).
I dont usually do eggs either, not because I dont like them, I just like to prepare my food ahead of tiem. In my fridge I have weighed portions of cottage cheese, greek yogurt/oatmeal, and grilled pork ready to grab so I dont over induldge when Im hungry. I am focusing (refocusing as of today) on mindful eating and paying attention to hunger cues which usually has me eating every 2-3 hours like the plan wants.
If you are hungry for that 6th meal and dont want eggs again cottage cheese is a good option since it has capsasin (good muscle builder) in it. Its also not a lot of food 1/2 cup is about 80 calories, so you wont feel over full before you go to bed. you could also do greek yogurt (I like 0% Fage plain) with a tablespoon of SF jelly (110 calories together). I would just avoid carbs for the last meal. HTH

Hey there-- I didn't get to a 6th meal ever (granted I'm not up early) and I didn't start eating eggs at the end of the day until late Phase 2. That's when my body really started needing a lot more fuel.
so, don't force it. Just listen to your body. You'll know when to adjust.
This is hard for me to answer because I don't really do eggs. Tried, but couldn't do it with allergies and well, that's a ton of eggs:) I do get in my protein shake every day and make up my protein in other ways. Just make sure you are getting in enough calories and protein. Need them to build. Sometimes you have to ease yourself into it. I had a heck of a time that first week. Never felt so full in all my life and my jaw hurt from chewing. Kristen and I have both struggled with getting enough calories in. As a matter of fact, it is my goal for today. So far, so good!
Today is day 2 for me and I have a question about the meal plan. The last (6th meal) of the day says 5-6 egg whites and veggies. Considering that I just had 5 for breakfast, 10 per day is a lot to stomach. Is there a good substitute for the egg whites for that last meal? Would another protein shake be out of the question?
