I am with you on the core. I think I will focus on that for awhile. Am going to see if that helps the lower back/sciatica thing. Dragging my butt in going to the doctor about it. Have noticed that it is changing my core. You know how it gets a bit distended when the back is flaring up. Ick! We ordered another inversion table after the last fiasco. Hopefully it gets here soon!

I think it was Libby (IAMSHERA) who told me that distance running makes your butt smaller and sprints make you curvier. I really should be a runner if all I cared about was my butt.
Definitely, you could get away with doing less work on the calves if you are running (Jamie says that you are supposed to pick your TROUBLE spot and work it twice a week on the program, so it doesn't have to be Legs)
Labrada has Back/Biceps twice a week. I think I could do without the Biceps (I am pretty dang big there). If it continues that way (that is, once I get back on routine), then I might adjust to Back & Triceps or Back and Abs. Frankly, I should be doing Abs every other day as far as I'm concerned. still have issues with core strength and that stupid tummy/back fat.

Awww, it isn't really because I am working them out so much as genetics. I was secretly hoping they would slim down, but they are getting bulkier. It is the family curse. When I played tennis my calves were the size of my thighs. The boyfriend always tells me that I could probably get away with doing light, short leg workouts. I don't do calves anymore. Feels like a waste of time. My butt is gone from running:( I want it back!!!

Heck yes LFF! Woohoo! I can join you on the other thing. I still have that darn back boob! grrrr. I noticed some lat development in some of my friend's videos from the mud run. Unfortunately I couldn't stop myself from thinking that they would look way better if I lost this darn weight:) I have been feeling good about the quads and calves lately. The running and hiking is building them!

My upper back is starting to show hints of awesome. Now if I could just get rid of that back roll mid-back (yeah, the one I lost doing LiveFit the first time came back during the Holiday backtrack and has never gone away since). work, work, work...

My triceps are the worst. Part of it is my lack of love for those moves. Actually think that is where I hurt my elbow. In overhead tricep extensions. I am really careful with them, but that is all I can think of. You should see the videos my friends just sent me from the mud run. I want to crawl into a hole. It is not what I see when I look in the mirror:) Also, I really need to get the back checked out. I can see how my walk has changed since it all came about. Kind of a waddle with a side to side gait. Ugh! and I know I didn't walk like that before!!!

Mine seemed to start with the biceps but until my triceps match (or my skin shrinks), its hard to appreciate them.

Yay LFF! I say, in private, that you throw on some short, shorts and some high heals and strut in front of a mirror to check out those calves in action! Yes, I have been known to do that. shhhh, it's our secret!

I will join you on the calves one. I was sitting outside in shorts with semi-crossed legs and looked down and noticed that while my leg was unflexed that I had that great round shape to the back of my calves with a big differentiation between the bottom half of the calves and the top. And I wasn't flexed! Yay:) I am getting my old legs back little by little. Seems to have started with the calves.

Okay, I'm revitalizing this topic. You know how I love Non-Scale Victories (NSV).

So I'm in the shower shaving my legs and look down and wonder- hey, when the hell did I get that sexy cut down the outside of my calf?

It almost makes me want to wear heels. hahaha

Anyone notice anything cool about a new or improved muscle lately?

hee hee...thanks for sharing the article. So it is possible that the reason you can't see mine much is genetics. Yeah, i'll go with that (we won't talk about the fact that I STILL am working some extra fat...lol). BTW, I'm STILL green with envy over your dimples!!! Perhaps your new nickname will be Venus:) Woohoo on the back definition:)

Hey DJ (guess I have a new nickname for ya:)

LOL...2 pack...love it! I am finally seeing some ham shape. Nice thing about those is kind of shows the line between butt and leg. Sounds strange but I can pull my shorts up higher and the top area isn't continuing to expand. Know what I mean. Love working the legs! I am enjoying the shoulders too, but am having a problem with them starting to pull forward. Read that I need to work my lats more. Thing is I work the hell out of them. Kind of bumming me out cause I used to have good posture.

You sound like you are really getting cut. Can't wait to hear what you think after phase 3. WTG!

I love how my hamstring muscles are shapely and obvious now (not in an ugly way).

My shoulders...yep, love raising my arms to the sides and seeing that definition!

My abs...I call it a two pack, lol...that line down the middle is lovely!!

I'm just starting week 8 so measurements and weigh-in in a few days!! I'm wearing shorts that I couldn't get into two months ago!!! LOVE the LiveFit!

LOL...love it. Kristin just got schooled. Linda...we were wondering what those dimples are called on your lower back. I refer to them as skinny people dimples and am quite jealous of all who have them. Mine are there, but need good lighting casting shadows to see em.

Tracie...you have awesome arms!!! You are so lean:)
Linda...WTG on the arms. I am with you on some of the others. I KNOW they are in there and just waiting to show themselves. Love feeling 'em and they are rock hard. Beautiful.

I know we have said it before, but I kind of think arms are favorites because we get to see em work all day. Picking something up, brushing the teeth and there they are...BAM!

My very 1rst muscle noticed was triceps,so they are still my favorite! Biceps are good! Not
so much as far as definition elsewhere, but evreything is harder!

WOOHOO! I love those ab muscles on the sides by the hips. I am starting to see them faintly:) Had them big time with boxing. The trainer did killer ab work. I will always do my ab leg raises/push downs (not sure what they are called) but the BF pushes the legs down and I force them to pop back up (also side to side). Gotta be careful with the back though.

What the heck are those dimples called??? Sounds like you are really leaning out:) Nice to hear you are blessed with quick responding muscles. Congrats on your progress!!!

More definition in my calves and looking forward to even more. I also like the bit that is on the side ab above the hip:) Oh, and the dimples in the lower back - I don't know what those are but I like them.

My quads are still about the same size but I know it's a lot more muscle now. I'm fortunate in that I get definition easily enough when getting in the workouts but mostly I feel stronger.

The forearms are great, especially since you can catch glimpses of them in the mirror, you use them every time you pick something up. Who knew brushing your teeth could get you excited.
Love the delts too and they seem to build quickly.

Starting to love the hamstrings. Was walking around the house this morning and would catch a glimpse of them. They are starting to pop.

Hey, you are not alone on the triceps. Was checking out my back view after the shower and realized that at some point I gained my grandma's arms from behind. Think there just might be a shadow being cast over my elbow. There is this layer of pudge that just won't leave!!! I know they are there though.

My favorite love muscle right now is my shoulders. I've always thought I had great shoulders (I have broad shoulders...actually broke a collarbone on the way out of my Momma because of it!) but lately they feel solid and real and beautiful!

My triceps are aching so much...and I know they just have to look great under there...but I doubt I'll see that for a VERY long time!

Biceps for me too. But my upper back is really starting to look great and I looked over my shoulder in the mirror the other day and was surprised by how much my butt has lifted in just a few weeks! The changes are keeping me so motivated. I'm only on week 3, I can't wait to see what changes next

Great LFF! Ribs on me only show when I suck my gut in. They are coming.

I would say biceps. Still have a layer on top, but they continue to pop and remain firm all week.

Back is next in line. Calves are getting cuts, but are growing. I'll take that definition. Also, muscles on lower abs, have a nice cut there too.

My shoulders now have definition. very cool to watch with lateral raises.

I now see ribs. and that vertical definition around my abs (no abs yet, still an inch or more of fat localized on top of them)

My calves are still too big, but sort of look sexy in heels now.

Ok, everyone's working hard and hopefully been seeing some visible differences in their bodies... So what muscle has given you added encouragement? A new muscle peeking out? An improvement in one you wanted to make?

So far (week 6) I just have a couple of noticable ones ( biceps are nice since I can easily show those off in casual conversations), but my upper back is probably exciting me now-- I just noticed it! Very cool definition starting above my shoulders.

How about you?
