I have had a few different reactions: my face seems clearer in general because of my cleaner diet, but my skin on my chest/back has broken out more. I believe the body-acne has to due with sweat residue clogging pores, since I will occasionally work out in the afternoon or evenings and not shower afterward (maybe gross, but I don't have time!). I carry Strident acne cleansing pads in my gym bag so that I can wipe down my back/chest after a workout now and it seems to be helping!

Thanks for responding, Ladies! Kate, the article was in the most recent magazine, I looked on their website, but didn't see the same article.

I have it but on my back. My DR. says that it is due to having sweat on you for so long. I actually use a Clinique body scrub in the shower everyday to try to avoid it, but it does come and go. When it gets really bad she prescribed me a hydrocoritisone steroid cream to rub it on twice a day! That works for me.

I've noticed it too lately. I just assumed it was because the workouts are taking me about 90 minutes so I'm going around with a sweaty, dirty face for about two hours every morning. I wonder if I start washing my face before I workout if it will help.

Okay that explains it! I had the same problem with acne as well! It's subsided a little bit but I was wondering what caused it! I thought maybe it was all that sweating, lol!

Do yo have a link to that article for us to see? I'd be very interested in reading it.

Hi there Keri,

I've actually experienced the opposite - I think it's thanks to the much cleaner diet I've been following and always drinking plenty of water. My skin has really improved, even on my back and chest which are the worst areas for my acne.
I've had a small breakout this weekend, but it was only 3 small spots and they are already clearing. My skin's not 100% blemish-free, but it's a lot better than it was.

xx

Has anyone else experienced increased acne while on this program? I know it's gross, but I have and it wasn't until I read a Women's Health article that I put it together. They say that weight lifting increases testosterone and that increased testosterone can cause acne. What a bummer, my skin is a mess and I'm still too fat to see my muscles!!
