Just finished Day 1. OMG I will be sore tomorrow. Used my 10 lbers for all exercises except last one (triceps, had to use my 6 lbers).

Today: August 22nd, 2011

Here is what I ate:


bfast: 5 egg whites/mustard/1/4 c oats (should be 1/2 c but i dont want that MANY OATS)
1 tbsp flax seed

snack: 2 turk muffins
1 cup green beans

Lunch: 2 cups romaine, broccoli, tomatoes, cucs, cauli/balsamic
4.5 oz steak
(should of added a starch)

snack: 2 turk muffins
1 c green beans

dinner: 6 oz greek yogurt
1/4 c blueberries
vanilla whey (a touch)
1/4 c blk beans (my dinner starch)

1/2 c= a serving

need one serv for lunch, dinner, bfast

snack before bed 5 egg white salad

I worked out 3 out of the 4 days last week, kind of a dry run. Legs, shoulders and abs really felt it. Spending today prepping food. I have Jamie's Lemon Protein bars in the oven as we speak! Then tomorrow, I will begin with the chest/tris workout at lunch.

I am going out of town on vacation this week and won't return home until Saturday, so I am planning to start next Monday (Aug 29). However, I'm going to try to eat as clean as possible while I am gone. I have been eating pretty clean lately anyway. I can feel the difference!

Honestly, I think diet is probably the biggest part of her plan for seeing results. I am not going to alter that part of it at all. I will continue to do a little cardio but I will cut it down to just two days per week for 20-30 minutes. I really do think it is important to stick to the plan as closely as described to really see the results that she promises.

I still plan on running a few x a week but I will try to keep them a little slower and not too long.

For rice lovers Brown Basmati rice has only 3g of carbs per serving and 5g of protein. That is for 1/4c uncooked which I gauge to be around 3/4 of a cup cooked. I do not like brown rice but I LOVE this stuff.

ST: ah! I see....well I'm definitely fine with the carb cutting...................I wonder if I should cycle in some healthy carbs for phase one?? as of right now I'm eating super low carb and planned to keep it that way. A little oats and sweet potato might be something to think about though.....hmmmm

Yep- I'm going to use the "rest" days for training runs, only until my HM on Sept. 11. Then I will do my best to follow the program as she recommends!! I just can't give up running altogether right before my half marathon, so I need to make it work. :)

I will be starting Monday as well so that I can get everything printed, recipes made, ect. I made her carrot cake protein bars last week and they are delicious!! I have also made her turkey muffins but will try them with ground chicken breast next time, which she actually prefers.

This is perfect timing for me because I am going on a cruise to the Bahamas Oct 28th so I will be close to nearing the end of the challenge when I leave!!

Whit- So are you still going to do the cardio in phase 1 even though she recommends not doing it? I have been torn on it because I KNOW the reason behind it BUT I still might do 20-30 minutes a couple days per week just for heart health and leaning out a little more. Still deciding on that one.....

I started the work outs this morning....I find them challenging yet do-able! YAY ME! Lol I am not following her meal plan as I eat low carb high protein most of the time anyway. Those of you without a gym membership...There are a ton of alternatives for the machines that she has on the workouts so don't get discouraged! And if you need help...I am here!

I tried the 1st workout today and boy, it's tough!! I don't really like push-ups so having to do so many was torture. I'm expecting to be very sore tomorrow.

I will start on Monday too (along with everybody else) to give me time to have a look at the meal plans, print whatever I need and prepare my shopping list accordingly.

I'm also starting on Monday. I was so excited when I first checked out the website that I wanted to start right away, but I have a huge paper due (working on my MA) and work has been nutzo this week (typical military circus act). I really need to be able to focus on the plan AFTER all of that is out of my hair. Can't wait!

I will be working on my plan and prepping my food Sunday for a Monday start as well. I want to spend some time reading and watching the videos this weekend so I know exactly what to be prepared for. I will also be testing out a workout between now and then. I am excited for the regimented plan.

I'm planning on starting her meal plan also on Monday with Jamie. It will be a busy weekend in the kitchen, which I'm excited about!

I started the workouts this week to "test drive" them and am feeling VERY sore after only two sessions (yesterday and today). I may take tomorrow as a rest day, and then do a long run on Saturday (still training for a half), with one more rest day Sunday before hopping on board with a regular scheduled Jamie Workouts! I'll "start over" with the workouts beginning next Monday as "day 1."
