I got the garbage changed - LOL, it's just 7:05 am, so that's a big deal. I'm usually up around 4, managed to sleep in until 5, but I'm still just so tired! I'm working right through until Sunday, so I'll try to make Monday a day off! :D

Before leaving for work, I managed to wash one load of laundry and two loads of dishes! I'll get hubby and perhaps my boys to hang the clothes out to dry - these are my boys' clothes, so it will do them good to be part of the process. :)

When I come home from work, I have so little energy left and I need to keep moving forward, so getting more and more done each morning just makes the whole day so much better! :-)

Survived a 12-hr night shift, slept for an hour and a half on the way home (pulled over, first!), may or may not have slept here, went for a bike ride! and am still surviving, though i FEEL like a zombie. :p

I am back online! and Baby-stepping my way back to that 35-lb weight loss that I had enjoyed not so long ago. I need to work on getting back into shape - for my work just as much as for my health. My foot and ankle have been giving me some troubles lately, and I just recently bought a bike, so I'll be out there riding along with some good walking - but not running, yet. All in due time! :D

New job has me launched way beyond baby steps and right into survival mode - I'm driving a recycling truck, pitching an average of three tons of recycling material each day. I'd been very sick for three days this week, the first of which I was to prove my abilities or get sent home and the third was my first day on my own, all three days, burning up with fever. :-/ I've not been eating much but drinking as much as possible and still not enough. Drastic change in lifestyle! I'm home now an average of 9 hrs per day and I need 8 hrs of sleep, though my body can't seem to yet adjust to the serious new adrenaline levels I'm pumping. The baby steps will be to either find a way to make this work or call it quits. The week before Christmas is a tough time to be coming into this, though at least I have this weekend and two days off this coming week to help with the transition. :-) I like the work out and I love driving truck, but I do need to make sure it is a physical possibility for me. I've been told right from the start that it's not the job for every body.

It is very rare that I can drink enough water if it's just plain. Most of the water up here is fairly hard - and not so good-tasting. if I simply put about an ounce (two Tablespoons) of fruit juice in per cup of water, it makes a WORLD of difference! I learned this trick with unsweetened cranberry but grape and "fruit punch" work fine, too. Yes, there's a little sugar in the fruit punch, but for how little sugar there is compared to how much more water I am able to drink - it HAS to be worth it! I don't measure accurately, so I likely get closer to one ounce per two cup water bottle. My alternative would be sugary soda pop, straight up, so let's consider the math! LOL I hope that helps! (^_^)

KUDOS, Gini! :) Those baby steps you took today are taking you AWAY from that immobility you fear and I am very proud of you!

Today, I'm having a hard time drinking my water but I'm still trying! I made a healthy dinner for my husband and I, walked the dogs, didn't smoke a cigarette and took my daily supplements. I'm also thinking about doing a ten minute fitness video either from here or Netflix. WOO HOO! :D My gross lunch decision won't set me back. I won't quit trying. I'm in it to win it!

I got myself two sets each of 9 plastic food containers(with lids) so that I can better do healthy food preparation and portion control. They are "Rubbermaid" and on sale for $10 per set. My staff discount worked, so I got each set for $9! Woohoo! I can't do this well even at the local dollar store! The biggest one holds 40 cups, which will be great for making hot-air popped popcorn! I needed something anyway!

Now to do some cooking! ..... (^_^)

DONE - a load of dishes is washed! :-D and the rest of the dishes are unpacked! Some that I don't intend to keep are already listed on a fb buy, sell and trade site and potentially taken! Woohoo! I'll get those out to the van since they're ready to go!

Land Lady is coming today for a "walk through" as we're new here and apparently it's a requirement to do this. Still boxes, everywhere, but I want the place as neat as possible. Hooray for Baby Stepping, or I'd be overwhelmed for sure!

was going to start my day by cleaning out the van, but instead decided to walk a mile first. Now or never - maybe. I also considered doing some running, but also considered how embarrassing I would look as random body parts started snapping off my body. great idea for doing the number of boxes. I'd divided my apartment into areas and tried to do one area per week. I ended up going out west two months early, taking an entire van load of stuff, not knowing that I'd be coming back a week later. I know how much fits in the van and was pleasantly surprised at how well I did, though it does scare me to have to do it all again and perhaps have too much. :p Before I left the first time, I estimated the number of boxes that would fit and then put about twice as many and more. We could have to take only the van (four adult-sized people and a cat w/ carrier) which would leave very little room for anything else and then load up the pick up truck and take it out later when we have a place and some money for gas, etc. 13 days is crunch time now. I don't think I'll be required to leave early, at least. In fact we may end up staying in Ontario a bit longer, depending on many factors.

I don't want to run out of space AND time at the same time, so I'm getting rid of everything I can.

eta that you've inspired me to try to guess how many boxes will fit in the two vehicles and try to do a 13th of that number each of the 13 days that we have left! Great idea! I had about an equivalent of 60 boxes in the van, but it will be holding people instead this time. The van might hold what the truck holds... off to do some math and more packing and repacking.

When I moved recently I figured out how many boxes I thought the house would take, then divided it by the number of days until moving day, then made SURE I packed at least that many boxes a day. If I wanted a night off, I packed extra ones ahead of time. I got there... UNDER the number I estimated - BONUS!!!

I am doing some courses for work. Today I need to plan out my readings to get through what I need by next week... same approach, only PAGES per day, rather than boxes for me!

way to go, still getting even half a workout in. If you're working with weights, you can also perhaps increase the amount you're working with, do fewer reps and still benefit. It's a great time saver and even feels like an energy saver, too.

I came home with such a terrible migraine that I did nothing after work but fight it off and that zaps all my energy. I'm just a bit hungry, now, but I don't like to eat after 8pm and it's nearly nine. I didn't have supper. My shift was weird, so it threw my meal times out of whack, too. I brushed my teeth - as that sometimes helps me fight a migraine, and am too tired to eat and then brush them again. :p Our little neighbour above us (three or four year old) seems to be running a marathon up there tonight.

Thankfully I did get a bunch of baby steps in this morning before work and tomorrow is a new day! :-D

Today is baby-steps exercise... I was running late this morning, so was VERY tempted to ditch the routine I have. BUT - I stopped myself and decided to do half of the sets... just 12 (rather than 24 reps.) of each thing and let it go for the morning.

The world didn't end... it just got a little easier to know I am moving in the right direction!

What can you pare back today and still enjoy?

hooray for getting started and finding it to be less intense than anticipated. I need that today. Work today, driving for three hours tomorrow and I need to get a letter from my landlord proving that we have been renting here - and I need to go downtown for it. :p I'll do that tomorrow if I can, but also need to take ds for a sleep over and it's about an hour and a half driving time each way. Wednesday is my bus driver road test and failure is not an option. Getting nervous. Also our building manager wants to inspect our unit as we are getting read to move out. My older son sleeps during the day as it's so noisy here at night and my younger son will still be at sleep over and need to be picked up. ack.

overwhelmed! baby steps , baby steps, baby steps... :-D

lol, plus moving in two weeks or less - still no place to move to. ack!

I started in on a major spreadsheet that I have been putting off doing at work - and, as things tend to go, it was easier and much less time consuming than I had built up in my head! AHHH... a little stress off my shoulders. Will come back to it tomorrow, but for today a little was ALOT!
