I did not think I was ready for P90 or P90X. I have an older program by beachbody called Slim in Six. I am doing it, and I am now on week four. It is awesome. Try to find it!!! Let me know how it goes!

Posting another update re: P90X -

I bought my dress back in... late February, I think it was. I tried it on the night I brought it home; fit me perfectly on top, but it was a little long & needed to be hemmed and also bustled, so I had my first dress fitting last night. They have to take the whole thing IN 1.5 inches all around! I was floored!

Also - this was the first time I could really see myself in a three-way mirror... and I know I should have been staring at the dress - which I love and is beautiful! - but I was more staring at the changes in myself I noticed in the mirror. My dress is strapless, so I could truly see the definition in my back and shoulders and how lean and sculpted my arms were.

I'm now on my fourth week, and I am LOVING it. It's something I can see myself doing on a long-term basis - I'll probably restart it again after I'm finished!

I cannot recommend this program enough, seriously. I'm not even a Beachbody "coach" or anything like that, I get no commission or kickbacks, and I don't work for the company, LOL. I'm truly just really excited about it.

It's pricey and it's a real time commitment, but you only pay for it once - and it is a GOOD investment in yourself, both with the price you pay and the hour you carve out of every day - your commitment to YOURSELF - to just do it and do your best. I find I look forward to that workout hour; it's my "me time." So rare in today's lifestyle, eh?

Thought I'd pop in on this thread again...

I started P90X last Wednesday, and WOW what a workout! I'm enjoying it immensely, even though it's pushing me right up to my limits every single time. Haven't lost any weight yet in the first week, but my hips are a half-inch smaller. :)

Totally recommend!

Just wanted to update - I'm nearly done with Power 90 (progress pix on my page/blog...), and I'm starting P90X at the end of the month. And guess what - I'm going to be done with P90X riiiiiight about the time the wedding rolls around!

I'm completely on board with Tony Horton's philosophy and workouts - highly recommend to anyone and everyone!

I am starting with Tony Horton's Power 90 - the P90X just seemed a little too extreme for me right now, and at the moment, it's more important to develop the healthy habit of exercising every day than it is to work so vigorously that I run the risk of burning out and giving up. I'm now over a quarter of the way done with it, and I am seeing results! (I have pics on my sparkpage/blog - check them out!). It's a half-hour every day, and I get it done first thing in the morning, every morning. It's plenty challenging. :)

Once I get done with Power 90, I will move on to P90X. I think I have a better chance of succeeding that way.

yes keep us updated on this.. I am planning to buy it next month with my tax money. I have friends that when I went back a year later to my home town I didn't reconize from using this. They have not only lost weight and toned up but keep it up and changed their lifestyle completely.

I was never able to do them the full6-7 days a week because of the time commitment. I used them as supplemental workouts to running. Maybe I should give it a full shot though- what do you guys think?

I have been doing the workouts consistently for 5 weeks now. It is a huge time commitment. I have increased my tone, but my weight has stayed the same. I need to work on my diet. My husband to be does the workouts with me which helps with our motivation.

I have been trying to gain the motivation to start P90X. I bought the dvds early this summer, but I haven't stuck with the workouts more than a few days at a time.

I will be starting the Lean program, and that doesn't use the pylometric routine at all (which MY downstairs neighbors appreciate, without even knowing it)

The program works. I just need to get my fanny moving :)

Harmsee- P90X is a 90day work out that is a set of DVDs. They are pretty extreme and great for toning. It tells you when to do each DVD so you are changing your muscle groups appropriately and are each about an hour long.

Kinpy225- I think the only DVD that may bother your neighbors is the plyometrics. Otherwise everything is low impact and shouldn't bother them. Maybe do plyo during normal hours (not early mornings or late at night)?

I never tried it, but I was thinking about trying it. I live in a 2nd floor apartment, so I dunno if working out at home would bother the downstairs neighbors haha.

Hi Ladies! I was wondering if any of you had the p90x DVDs and have done them or are planning to do them?

Being that it is the begining of a new month and I need to get myself back on track, I figured it is the perfect time for me to start! I have done them in the past. I did not stick to the every day for 90 days though.

This time I really want to stick with it! I can periodically post updates on how it is going. If anyone else was planning on doing it, it would be great to be able to do it together!
