Thanks for the words of encouragemeng and advice ladies! I made the decision to stick with my exercise routine. I just started last week and felt it was too early to just toss to the side for a disastrous evening to socialize with co-workers that I barely socialize with AT WORK.

I got my WORK-OUT...ON! emoticon emoticon

Hey Diva,

Don't beat yourself up about it.....it's a part of life.....I have always told everyone that "food" will be the death of me.......lmao.......I do not deprive myself of the things I like......I cater and have been doing it for several years.....just be mindful of your caloric intake and if you know that you will be attending a function of some sort.... work around it......"DON'T" deprive yourself of the things you like, because it will make you want it more and then that will be the problem......You still have tomorrow, and the next day, and the next and so on.....with this said......live life..... don't dwell on what you did, start over again the next minute........ emoticon emoticon emoticon

Jusfat. i had that issue sat night and I will have it again on sunday night. I think you should be conscious of what you eat and drink but that not the reason for the get together. Its to talk and have fun so focus on that. I say start with the water and watch how fool you get.

What I did was had 2 drinks and paced myself... Didnt do good with the food part... But this sunday I will hit the gym earlier that day and make sure I remember why I am there( to watch my BEARS get in the super bowl) not stuff my face.

GOOD LOOK DARLING....

You also should come back to the ONE DAY AT A TIME THREAD we miss you!

It is a dilemma...that's called life! Unfortunately, we can't 'diet' and tell the world to bug off! LOL

All we can do is make the best of a bad situation. Like you said, no mixes...and if so...stick to diet coke and something...or even better, seltzer and something....or better still...get a glass of water...and add a slice of fruit [hey if you were a recovering alcoholic they wouldn't expect you to drink...right??] and no one can tell teh difference anyhow!

Regarding food...i'm sure they'll have a veggie platter...if not...stay away from anything wrapped in bacon! :)

Easier said than done...but doable..this is coming from a person with lots of will power...but now won't power! :) Good luck!

Well, today marks an official 7 days of trying to do the right thing! I did excellent yesterday in my eating to my surprise but it was not at all that bad ~ within calorie intake requirements! I am scheduled for cardio and weights today but my job is requesting my presence for appetizers and cocktails after work...oh what a girl to do...STICK WITH THE PLAN!

My health is on the line and drinks and fatty appetizers will not help my waistline...so as much as I would like to go...I cannot...unless of course, I workout at recess (my job offers recess 30 min on Tuesday & Thursdays). Still...the drinks...the food...well, I will never learn to make good choices if I don't try. So, I know how to drink..stay away from mixers; drinks should consist of alcohol and a diet drink. The eating...I will work thru it with having a healthy breakfast & lunch + working out again afterwards to just burn off the extras...I DON'T KNOW...my mind is telling me to stick to the routine.................TO BE CONTINUED.....
