Twins eh?? And you get the older kids?? I guess you don't have to worry about weight loss . . . they'll run you to death. Enjoy while you can. LOL

You just hang in there!!
Sounds like another plan fell in your lap, and some of it must feel good, and be rewarding. Don't forget to open the window so your plans can get back in LOL!!

I had different plans before we found out that twins were one the way. I love to knit for the kids, grand kids and charity. That has slowed down, along with my plan for exercise. I'm learning to readjust. We are fortunate that the twins arrived healthy and after getting their weight up, they've continued to thrive. Any delay in other things has been very worthwhile. Their mom is a teacher and home the remainder of the summer. It is time to take advantage of the days I don't have the kids....right after I catch up on some much needed rest !!

I wanted to take some time this year & get my Degree finished but the key office person at my part time job got a better offer so I've been working 6 days a week since April 15! Sometimes there isn't time enough to even read my email but I'm working on paying off some debt early. This is the first month in 3 years that I've actually paid my rent EARLY. And there's still money in the bank account. Hopefully the trend continues. My part time job ends in October when the motorcycles go to bed for the season but they come out again in February. I'll be prepared this next year!!!! All my plans went out the window.

Sounds like you have a full time job in Daycare!! How lucky you are that you're healthy & financially able to quit your job to care for your grandchildren. I hope you have a lot of fun doing it.
there's a knitting opportunity there too - you have them handy for measurements!!

2012 is about creating more time for ME (yes, me me me).

I left my job a year ago to have more of this time. I know that I'm fortunate with so many others in need of work. Anyway, it is far from retirement... 1) I'm too young, and 2) I have grand kids 4 days/week. I have two 3 year olds and a 6 year old one day, and 11 month old twin granddaughters 3 day/week.

Keeping my mind open, I'm finding ways to "get there."
I spend Fridays doing something for me, even if it is sleeping in. And even though it is only day 5, SP has been a huge door that opened and is very much about ME (with the sharing of many--appreciate). I have a few ME minutes while kids are busy playing or napping to log in on SP. It has helped to motivate and work on my food plan. In the evenings, I find something on TV or plug in a movie to have ME workout time. Very good of putting up my own roadblocks. SP has encouraged me right into my original goal for 2012 and am so happy to have stumbled across this and all the GREAT people!!!

WooHoo everybody! How's 2012 shaping up???

I wanted to declutter so I'm doing it the easy way. Every time I go out, I take something OUT with me. This month, I'm taking bags with me. Some are garbage, some are give away & some are recycle. I figure 29 bags of something this month will help!!

I know I've been a dirty dawg & haven't been in for a week or so . . . been knitting on a new sweater for myself based on the Ribbons-o-Round sweater in the Winter Knitters magazine. I'm using grey handspun yarn with some wild handspun that ranges from hot acid pink to pinky brown as stripes on the yoke!! And I've been watching Downton Abbey which I discovered over the holidays.

Not following any Plans or Diets but definitely upping my fibre - I have a big bowl of Fibre one as meal every day as well as as much fruit & veggies as possible. Had curried Brussels Sprouts with pork for dinner with dried Persimmons as dessert. Found a small store selling dried Persimmons cheap! Never had them before but they're high in fibre & not too sweet!! I love them. I'm trying NOT to eat rice, pasta or noodles with my stir fry too.

Welcome to the Bunch, Blue!! Glad to have another Crafty person join. Are you on any specific Plan to lose or just cutting down??

Good luck with the shawl - it's nice to curl up in a shawl & they're a little easier since you don't have to worry about too much shaping.

Have fruit or cereal - makes a good snack - I like the Fibre 1 varieties & they help you get more fibre in your diet!

Hi, New to this "team". Just started my "plan" to lose some of this weight and get healthier physically. Also have to get finances in better shape. Knitting - signed up for a class to make the Reminiscence Shawl. Should be a challenge since I'm a slow knitter with too many family distractions. Ok, need to get a small snack so I can not go to bed hungry. Can't sleep when I'm hungry.

I'm always willing to take on small jobs - even a couple of days washing dishes for a catering company. It's money. I've done all kinds of things for ONE day or a weekend. I have all my finances set up on a spreadsheet now & I can SEE what everything is doing. I really want to get as far out of debt as possible this year. It's nice when you can see the changes as you go instead of waiting for the damned bill. I hate moving. I dig my feet in and won't move unless I have no other choice so my only option is taking on more work or cutting expenses.

I do think about contracting but it is not my thing - I like the structure of having someone else take care of the other things. But it is something to think about. I am not sure what I want to do moving forward.... UMMMMMMMMM

I would say keep moving however slowly towards the degree - 1 or 2 classes a year. Those two years are coming any way so you might as well keep moving on it! It is after all the "almighty piece of paper" that helps you move forward........

I listed my goals on my page but the one I am really struggling with is the whole work thing. I love what I do but not necessarily where I am......

I'd like to finish that degree but it all comes down to money. I've been trying to finish through our Open University - means I can take courses at ANY university if the credits are transferable!! - but, the Open University has moved to a new permanent location - means I won't have an Open Uni degree but a degree from a physical Uni - & some of my courses don't transfer to that University. Instead of needing 6 credits to graduate, I now need 15. At approximately $600 for three credits . . . even one at a time is a struggle right now. The BT left me with big debt which I'm paying off in the shortest time possible - I still have two more years minimum. Maybe a little more or less depending on how low the interest rates remain. So, I am concentrating on working, decluttering - well, trying to any way, staying healthy, exercising more & possibly moving in the coming year.

Get that degree and knock it off your to do list then you can find another huge goal to complete

Everybody tells me that they would love to knit, but they don't have time. I look at people's lives and I can see opportunity and time for knitting all over the place. The time spent riding the bus each day? That's a pair of socks over a month. Waiting in line? Mittens. Watching TV? Buckets of wasted time that could be an exquisite lace shawl. ~Stephanie Pearl-McPhee, At Knit's End: Meditations for Women Who Knit Too Much

We can always use a little of that! I thought I wanted to get it in gear & finally finish that degree I've been working on for eons but now, well, I'm not so sure . . . gotta think a little about the 10 year Plan, I guess.

I already listed my goals/resolutions. Some call it goals, other resolutions but the idea is to become a better person

I'm not talking Resolutions here folks, we ALL know what happens to those. I'm talking about PLANS. I've always had the 5 Year Plan, the 10 Year Plan & especially, the 1 Year Plan. 10 is the LONG TERM GOAL, 5 is AM I ON THE RIGHT PATH OR DO I ADJUST SOMETHING, 1 is for MISTAKES, DETOURS etc. It all fell apart for me 4 years ago & I've been drifting with a Plan since. Time to firm up the old PLAN & give my life some order again. How bout you???
