Well actually "run" might be getting used poorly but that is what they call it ;) I've always enjoyed hiking and stuff and last summer when we were getting passed by runners while I was visiting Ashland, OR it made me want to do it. I was reading Runners ____________ magazine (forgot the entire name!) last week and it to was talking about trail running. Additionally if I am actually go to be doing this half marathon in October I do need to do actual road/trail miles cause the treadmill will not be conditioning my legs and lungs the best way. Anywho, Sunday I asked my DH to come with me to the park like 4 blocks away and walk out the trails with me so I would be familiar, especialy if some sick-o was there so I would know how to get the heck out of there. He did cause he is one of those awesome husbands. So Monday, which was one of those most unusual sunny days here in Oregon I "ran" my first trail. My eyes didn't feel the same bobbing that they do when I try to hit the concrete sidewalks or asphalt streets. My only negative was that the trail for our City Park had no map and actual length. This made me yesteday follow through with getting a Garmin 305 Forerunner. I want to know how fast or s-l-o-w my butt is actually moving, and how far I actually went. Can't track it on Google no trail indicated and then the trees cover it in satelite, errr. So has anyone else had a first anything they want to talk about? -Renee
