Well its true - have you seen that one girl "Brandi" in her bikini in Hawaii - damn its like the other one, Lisa, says "how far can you stick that string up your ass" - LOL!!!!! That girl is skinny! And they are all rock hard too - and that didn't just come from any liposuction - lol!
It reminds me of when my boyfriend used to say things to me like "oh hey you need to get Denise Austin thighs" and I'd reply "baby if I had Denise Austin thighs you'd be beggin for mercy!"

I agree about keeping up the calorie balance is hard. I always seem to be under the overall calories (now now don't all get on me for that, cuz I know most of you are battling the other problem) but on this side of things it is really hard.I'm so used to eating salads and I LOVE salad, so trying to get the calories up is actually hard to do. I'm trying to follow the PINK method diet plan - mostly protein & veggies, very low carb - but still I find it hard to work in enough calories. Today I wanted a diet pepesi so bad, but I was good and just drank water, watched BH Housewives and seeing those skinny Bs made me lose the craving - LOL!

I am finishing up week two today and still feeling motivated. I usually do really well for about the first month or so and then fall off. Right now I am trying to get in daily exercise and also working on not over restricting my food intake (a big problem for me when I start with a ton of enthusiasm, but it quickly leads to binging and falling off the program completely.) So far, so good, is how I would sum up my start. :-)

Aw, girls...hope tomorrow is a better day! I was just as bad and went under my calories. I was going to have a snack tonight and didn't get around to it and how my head is aching and I'm starving but it's way to late to eat anything at this point. Tomorrow I'll make sure to eat as much as I'm allowed. It's hard balance sometimes!

I hear ya, Bear. My day wasn't particularly good, either. Of course, I've been struggling with a headache and general yuckiness all day, and that alone just kills the desire to fight through the hunger and temptation. My choices weren't terrible. I just ate a bit more than I should have.

Like you, not a lot over my allotment for the day, but enough that I see it as a stumble. (Added with not even bothering to work out today. I just don't feel up to it.)

Hoping tomorrow I'll feel up to a better day.

bravo ladies! keep up the good work!

I fell down today, for the first time since I joined SP on 27th dec. But I am still positive I will be down at my wednesday weigh in.
Im a little disappointed with myself but considering what I wrote about in my blog today , Im not totally surprised at myself. and it was only 200 calories over my allotment for the day so not as bad as I could have done to myself.

just have to get up , brush off my knees firmly shut my mouth for the evening and start again tomorrow

Down 6lbs my first week.
A co-worker said it's just water weight... but I don't care... it's still 6 pounds!!!!!!

Starting week 2 and still feeling strong and happy. I love sparkpeople - it has been so motivating for me, which is great - I need that. I kind fo wish the San Diego Team was a little more active, they seem to be in the doldrums at the moment. I'm looking forward to another awesome week of staying on track, keeping up the workouts and cutting the calories and burning the fat!

oh so sorry that you have a battle of the sweets. I am fortunate that I dont care that much for sweets, would rather have fruit.
My battle is salty junk foods but I keep that under control buy just not buying it on payday. Works well as I only shop one day a month so little chance of having it in the house to call me lol

I absolutely LOVE sparkpeople!! It's changed things. I can feel it!! I did have to step back a wee bit because I was becoming completely OBSESSED!! I have to bring it to a healthy balance. There's just so much to do! LOVE it!! I tried a new Spark recipe this weekend...Turkey Chili. It was awesome! I served mine in a bowl with some cilantro, a touch of sour cream and half of an avocado cut into cubes on top. Forget the cheese! It was DELISH! and the best part is there was lots left over for me to bring for lunches this week. :)

I LOVE SparkPeople it has changed my life. I signed up a few weeks ago but my goal was to get aquainted with the site I didn't actually start till the 1st and today I weighed in 2 lbs lighter I was so happy!

Today was the day I thought would be a challenge: A baby shower at a Greek restaurant. But really, it worked out well. I ended up sitting with a few folks on are actively on Weight Watchers, and that helped. No one at the table finished their food (we all took it home). Plus, it was pretty healthy (and SO good; it was a challenge to put down my fork!)

Plus, the dessert was so sweet that there was no way I was eating all of it.

Downside is I didn't make it to exercise. (Normally, at this point I'd take over the TV and do the Wii, but husband is watching the Lions. He deserves it. He's put up with them for years, and he's surrounded by us Pats fans.)

I am very, very pleased with how I have been doing on my Life Change. I already feel so much better -- sleep better, joints do not hurt, no headaches, a lot more energy. I absolutely love SparkPeople. It is a tool that has been extremely beneficial to me. I wouldn't dare log on knowing I haven't done what I am supposed to do. That keeps me on track. Especially with calorie/fat consumption. SP makes it enormously easy to track. They fill in all the calories, fat, carbs, et cetera, for you. I love that! I also cleaned out my fridge and am cooking healthy meals my kids and I enjoy, instead of cooking 2 meals, like I have always done in the past, which caused a lot of extra work and time-consumption, so it didn't last very long. I didn't mean to ramble.

Hey, sounds like you are right on track! Good for you to be taking small little meals with you to work! That is a spot where you might real be tempted to say the heck with it and have whatever you can find as a quick choice to have...which is usually something not so good for us.

Hi!

I think I am doing well so far, the only thing that has been hard for me this week was to actually eat enough! I am a Bank Manager and at the beginning of the year with so much going on it has been pretty crazy, not having lunch until very late, but setting a plan each day has ensured I am eating something, I have been taking small little meals with me - almonds, carrots, hummus, raisins etc to ensure I always have something healthy to choose. I have worked out every day too even though that has been a little difficult when some of my days have been 12 hours long at work. Things will settle down soon and at least this shows me that despite all odds that determination can make sure you are successful :)

I am doing good! Managing to hold within the calorie range I have chosen. Falling down a little in the exercise department. Thats probably due to not feeling completely healthy this week, not sure if it s still my kidneys acting up or if I have a touch of the flu.

Regardless, I will not use that as an excuse not to watch what else I am doing!

How are all of you doing this first week or two of january? How is your determination holding up?
What can we do or post about that will help you along?
