Ok... I need to start off "again." This month has been horrible with my eating ... I have had too many graduation parties, kids home from college and finding I am short on time for counting calories. This really showed up in my weight check... I have gained 3 ponds in 3 weeks. I need to get back in gear. today I started tracking my food and started my day out with biking..... I will do this for myself today... one day at a time!!!

Congratulations on making it to your first goal. I think it is definitely smart to lower your weight expectations the closer you are. Although, sometimes you will surprise yourself with what can be accomplished.

Today, however I turtled. Nothing lost, nothing gained. Ughhh....

I made my first goal from "obese" to "overweight".YEAH~~~ It took me 3 days longer than I had planned so not bad at all!! The next goal is to get to " healthy" by the end of september. This seems like it could take longer. Why is it harder to lose weight as you get thinner!! !ugh! I will not make it 2 pounds per week. I think I will back off to the goal of 1.5 per week so I am not as stressed over loosing 2 per week. This has been to much of a focus lately! Thanks for the good wishes everyone. My heart is joyful to see a goal reached!! emoticon

I am down 2.8 pounds this week. I was surprised to see that this morning. I was thinking I would be down, just not that much this week. What a lovely surprise.

I joined the Spring Bootcamp, and today will be day 7. This is my first time joining a challenge, so far I am enjoying it. It's nice to have someone else arranging my strength training. I think it's more effective.

Gardening does count as exercise. It is even in your SP fitness tracker. Certainly, after I spend time out in the garden, my muscles let me know.

Congrats! Feelingphat on the 2 pound loss. That's wonderful. It brightens my day to know that someone is making progress.

Shirdee, I forgot to post but I am down only .2 today as well. I think staying the same can be the hardest thing some times. But, this week, I'm not going to try and change what I'm doing. My calories are low, my exercise not as much as it could be. But still, I am giving 100% each day. I think that's what matters the most. Did you do your best? Not perfection, which just isn't achievable. Just your best, factoring in all the crazy things that happen each day.

I lost 2 pounds this week ( actually lost1 pus the 1 pound that I gained over Easter).I am sore from the extra exercising but it was worth it to see the loss!! I am back on track. It was so hard to be focused at Easter...The "family" is not a help when it comes to weight loss....My will power was at a very low with all the foods available. It is so hard to choose healthy with pot luck!!

I am hoping for a good weigh in, I am trying to do once a week, then I thought about 2 weeks or a month! I really feel like it will be down. Most important is I feel healthier and lighter, and my clothes are fitting better! We shall see!

After begin up a pound last week, I am down 2.4 this week for a total of 20 pounds lost. I was glad last week, for weigh-in time to be over so I could move on. I am glad to be done this week too, I am hoping for new opportunities.

Wow! Wonderful weight loss. Losing 1 pound is still in the healthy weight loss range. Also being down does not make a plateau. I think you are doing a wonderful job as I've had a couple weeks where I didn't lose or gained.

I am up a pound this week. I am just glad this last week is over. I am hoping next week will be better. My BP was down a little. So, this next week I need to focus on balancing the need to exercise with the need to sleep. It's just so hard to tell when I really need sleep, when my usual state is tired. I think I would never exercise if I waited for the "not" tired state to happen.

aww shirdee hugs.

My suggestion:
Perhaps your calories are too high, are you using the spark suggested amount? That amount is too high for some people, if they are not doing a fair amount of exercise. Either go low end of the calories that are suggested or drop 100 or 200 calories off. I wont say step up the exercise because you have to do the amount that you are comfortable with . Every body is different, and as such what works for one does not always work for the other.

I have not been the best about reporting in every week, but wanted to make sure I got it in! I am currently down 14.4 lbs and 12.5" all over my body! Some weeks are good (such as this one where I lost 3 lbs) and other weeks are not so good (no change or even slight gain). Before, I would have just given up, but I am really determined. I am now about 6 lbs away from reaching my second goal. Electra bike here I come!

I cannot remember how long since you both had the maintains or gains before , seems to me its been about 4 weeks....Remember I told you about body cycles running about 4 weeks sometimes 5 for some people, so it could just be a little of the extra gain most people run into every few weeks. Dont be too hard on yourselves as that could be it.
Some choices might have made a bit of diffence of course, but you will both do better next week emoticon emoticon

I had a loss of 2 pounds yesterday. My total loss is 14 pound since joining SP dec. 29.

I am starting to feel real good about myself; for staying on track, for losing weight steadily, I am kinder to myself and my clothes are getting looser

Yes I agree juliette. It sonds like you are stuck on a plateau. Changinfg up the exercise may work as well as dropping 50 - a hundred calories a day, or even just one carb a day ( works out about the same) The real thing is to stay the course. Frustrations often lead to a break in routines that could cause slight gains.

I had a no loss no gain week as well. but I am ok with it. It was the last week before shopping day and all the fresh stuff was gone, leaving with a week heavy in the starch department, so all things considered, I am fine with it.

The coming week will be much better!

No gain or loss this week. This is the second week in a row. So, what am I going to? I'll try to eat at the lower end of my calorie range. Eat less carbs and more fat and fiber. Hopefully, that will make me feel less hungry. Also, I can begin doing an exercise or two at the gym for strength training. Maybe, add 10 minutes to my cardio for a total of 40 minutes.

You'll do great Bear, whether you stall out or even tick up this week you can keep it up and continue the downward trend. Good luck!

Excellent shirdee! Thats so great! you are doing so well!

Juliette - Keep at it hon! It is just a small glitch, stay steady on and it will come down more. I know its disappointing, but at least you took off the two pounds up after the cake! So technically you have lost! Your body is telling you things it likes and dislikes, pretty good sign it didn't like cake because I am sure you watched how much you had of it!

My weigh-in is in an hour and a half, but I am not feeling positive about it this week...

Zero pounds lost this week, for a total of 11.2. It's disappointing since I've been down to 166 this week. Immediately, after eating cake, I was back up 2 pounds. I will just have to keep on track and it will come off again.

I know I am a few weeks behind in positng my weight, but wanted to give an update.

Week 7: 189
Week 6: 190
Week 5: 191
Week 4: 191

I have broken my first goal of 10 lbs! Yay! This makes for 11 lbs lost in 7 weeks which I am completely happy with. On top of that, I have also lost a total of 7.75" on my body with 2.25 of those inches coming from my waistline!

I sincerely hope that you all are seeing success and are grateful for the new lifestyle that you are developing... I know that I am!

I am down 2.2 pounds today for a total of 11.2 pounds. I am so excited as I was only expecting 1/2 pound. I am hoping my reward arrives tonight. I ordered new running shoes for working out. My weight loss has been slower than I hoped, so I am glad of the 2 pounds this week so I can stay on track.

Woo hoo my Giants won! I ate too many snacks, need to exercise more, but I had a sewing class this morning and don't seem to have the time now. Oh well, at least I'm making some new friends. How about the rest of you - how is the diet/weigh-in going?

Well I didn't get the whole 60 min walk in, but I did get the other stuff in and the following day I got the 60 min walk in with 4.5 miles so I guess I made up for it. Today I'm going to do some ST, try to wash the car (been putting that off forever - uugghh). At least we have some beautiful weather to enjoy all this fitness outside - gotta use it before we have cloudy days again!!!!!

Thanks Juliette. I'm staying away from the scale for a bit and focusing on cardio burn to try and rid myself of this belly fat/jiggle. I think its working too - today I'm going for a 2 hour session with a 60 min walk, 20 min DVD, 20 min cycle, and 20 min pool run. I challenge the rest of you to up your cardio by at least 10-20 min - c'mon ladies let's do it!!!

Thats great everyone! I am happy to see all the down numbers and health improvements of everyone. We are all trying so hard and it is paying off!

I forgot to state yesterday how my weigh in went. I maintained the slow turtle, but I am ok with it, as it is not a gain and therefore not a backslide!

I am glad your event was such a success Ksandiego! I find potlucks are always scrumptious, but how nice to have a lot of people in your own area to meet up with!

I was on early last time becuase I had insomnia for 3 days....finally got sleep last night.
