OK, I am stealing this from another member on our team. But I really like her idea of Mini goals. On the bottom of all her messages it says: Rewards/ Motivation and lists 5 mini goals. Every 15 pounds there is some type of healthy reward or incentive. I think this is great!
One thing that helped me over the last two weeks is I write a to do list every morning when I wake up that not only includes my daily stuff i need to do, like washing etc but also i put on my fast break goals so I make sure I always get them done. They definitely became a habit for me and now they are just part of my routine every day.

I just wanted to share an "Idea for success" that has worked for me so far. Although I log onto Spark everyday, I am a very visual person and like to see my progress and goals at a moments notice.
I have posted a calender on my bathroom door and everyday I record the following things: *Exercise *Cups of Water *Number of freggies eaten *Weight
This really helps to hold myself accountable. I write my goals for the month at the top so that I see them evenday. My husband has even suggested that I write down when I have a piece of candy, some ice cream, or even induldge in a meal out. I also think I will start measuring myself and recording those on my calender too.
I make my own "nacho chips" using pita bread. I cut the pita into 8 wedges, each wedge actually make two "chips" beucase it pulls apart giving me 16 chips in a pita. I don't even add oil. I just sprinkle them with a little chilli pepper and lime seasoning and use them to dip into hummus or make chicken nachos! Yumm!!
They are also great crunched on top of a nice veggie chili with avacado and cilantro!! Skip the sour cream and cheese!

Lots of people like using premade salad dressings. This is another trick I use for myself. The calorie wise or diet dressings, while lower in fat, usually skyrocket in sodium or sugar! They have to do something to replace the flavor from the fat that they have removed. Some even substitute fake sugar, and having a lot of that is not good for a body either.
I take a regular dressing, the kind with oil and vinegar type base. I pour off as much of the oil as I can. You dont waste it! You can use it sparingly in marinades or brush on meats for cooking whatever you like. Anyways, what's left is a super strong dressing. Distribute well through your salad, so it s not too strong or as I do , put some in a egg cup, dip your fork into it before spearing same salad on to the fork! Either way, you get less calories from fat and your salad had automatically been lightened up...

Hi team, I thought I would begin a topic to put in ideas to help us towards our new goals and healthly lifestyle. Please feel free to add and share your thoughts and ideas! Here are a couple I thought of:
1. Accountability - a member in one of my other teams gave me this one. Go to SparkPoints (top right of your main screen) and go through the list as best as you can daily. Not only does it help you become accountable, gain SP points, but you get to read interesting articles and blogs, and learning more. SP articles will tell you that when you interact in a site such as this, your success rate increases for weight loss success!
2. Don't say the word "diet" anymore. In order to lose weight and lead a healthier life, you need to understand that it is a life-changing thing (please don't feel overwhelmed by that statement - it's not as bad as it sounds; it's actually easy after a while). Small positive changes produce huge results. Diets (lack of food, pills, drinks, shakes, etc). DON'T WORK; they are short-lived. You may lose weight for a while, but who can live on shakes for the rest of their lives, really? Eventually you will go back to your old bad eating habits and BAM, there is the weight again!
Another team member gave us this idea: if you dread getting on your cardio machine for 20/30/whatever minutes, only do one song at a time. Get on for a song on your Ipod, then go do something else. Get back on later and do another song, and so on. Five or six songs throughout the day instead of all at once may not be so "horrible", and you will get a good 20-30 minutes in by the end of the day! It's the long term positive changes we make that make the difference in the long run and show permanent results!!
