emoticon I actually got up when my hubby did this morning -- and it was like around 5! I normally wouldn't even hear him leave for work, but this morning, I thought I'm going to try something different, so up and at 'em and I'm hoping to jumpstart my energy button again somehow. Now, to see if it works!

New meds are still making me feel emoticon and I'm fighting the feeling of going back to bed already! But, at least I'm off from work today and was able to catch up with my Mom on the phone just a bit ago. She is having somewhat of a frustrating day with my Dad today and needed to blow off a bit of steam and get in a few laughs to keep going for the day and it felt so good to be able to have the time to be here to give her all that she needed. She really misses me not being home every day to be able to at least talk on the phone or come over and help them, but once again between these new meds that are knocking me down and work schedule, I'm not even feeling safe driving yet quite honestly and all I want to do is lay down--like staying upright is a challenge at times. So, I hope this body adjusts to them and soon!

You sure had a busy day -- cleaning, running and bleaching!! Wow, girl! You definitely know how to get alot done in your day! I wish I could get that energy back. I used to have it, now I just need to find it and I have an idea I may get a little extra more in a few weeks after this adjustment period -- at least I hope so otherwise, it's call the dr. time and see what's happening here.

Sorry to hear you ran over a rock with your lawnmower, as I went over a tree stump. Maybe to bring in that extra $ we should get into the lawncare business! Can you imagine! At least I have a new mower not to start us out -- but I'm sure my hubby wouldn't trust me with that one -- but we'd always have the one I screwed up and we could run circles around peoples' yards and have a great time! Hmmm...I smell small business...how 'bout you??? (LOL) Plus, we could have your daughter check the area and put flags near large rocks and tree stumps so we would have warnings ahead of time so no more sudden oops--what did I hit now!!!

I like your family. They are so much more organized than my family. My mother and sister used to get everyone organized to have dinner at a restaurant, so I would leave work and drive 30-45 minutes to get to where we were supposed to rendezvous just to find them not there. I would call them and find out that they changed their mind on where to go, by the time I would catch up to them, the servers would be picking up their dirty dishes.

Well, we didn't exactly make it to the pool. I had to do dishes and laundry before we left, so we got here late. Once the trek was over, and we made it into the mountains, I put my daughter's old changing table together so that she would have a place to put her toys. Then I cut the grass until it got so dark that I landed up hitting a hidden rock with the lawnmower. That lawnmower has lived through a lot of rocks. Then, I took a shower, we had dinner and then went to Walmart for groceries and deodorant. Once we got home, I found dead bugs in the fridge, so I was up until 2:30 am cleaning the fridge. I now smell like bleach. Maybe I should start a new perfume line... Eau de Bleach... no alcohol, only bleach Today, I finish the lawn and then finish the kitchen... and back to Walmart to buy the mop and cooking spray that I forgot to buy yesterday. Hopefully, we will make it to the pool. I am so far behind on my Sparkpeople!

Well, I'm off to cut grass. I am hoping to finish it before the sun comes out from behind the clouds!

You are strong. You are smart. You are a survivor. You survived a plethora of illnesses where many others would have just given up and died. Anger at this point achieves nothing. Maybe the others also told your boss that they couldn't work this weekend either. Remember that you are new guy so you are on the bottom of the totem pole. You'll get clout with time. Just hang in there!

emoticon right now! And how was the mole hole? 5 hours is quite the trek, but it does fun once you get there--and not referring to the poison ivy either. You poor thing--but at least you're going in prepared with your anti-itch in hand!

And, things worked out somewhat okay this past weekend. I'm still not a happy camper about the whole thing at work as they knew and could have scheduled differently. The Saturday in-law gathering was just to bury the cremains and not the actual memorial service itself--that was had in January. So, my being there wasn't like I missed the funeral sort of thing, but it would have been nice if I had been there for my hubby and all. And, as to my parents' party, I got there around 7 and everyone was outside with food still somewhat on the tables and they saved bringing out the cake and gift until I got there, so I could see the biggees! The cake was beautiful and matched their original cake in a smaller version and we got together and bought them a new flat screen TV with a built-in DVD player, so no more fighting over the remote in their house. Mom was most thrilled with that one! Love it! So, all in all, it all worked, all except getting up this morning and have to get on the road earlier. I'm not used to it and it'll be earlier yet tomorrow morning--so early bedtime and set the alarm for 5 in the a.m. and back to it.

So I hope you have a good time and remember to splish splash in that pool and have fun, you deserve it!!

I could imagine. Men and their toys! My hubby always looks like it is Christmas when he gets something new to tinker with.

Today, I travel. I do that 5 hour drive again, through the mountains to cut an acre with a lawn-mower. I have poison ivy on my arms, legs and waist again and I have been bleaching them again... trying to get them to stop that grose oozing. I think that I have disproved the theory that you can eventually become immune to poison ivy. Either you got it, or you don't. My hubby isn't affected and my baby isn't either (thankfully). I am taking it on the chin for them though. Soon, I think I am going to hire a lawn service to take care of the property. I have to admit though, that I enjoy being in that house. The neighbors are really nice, my daughter has someone to play with and we are close to the pool which is free after 4pm, so we can go swimming. It is the small town community that so many people remember from when they grew up. The only problem is that it is 5 itchy hours away! LOL! The Hydrocortisone is going with me!

I am really bummed that nobody would cover for you at work. I guess everybody decided to do something special that day. I am sure that your family understands, and if they don't (or didn't), it doesn't really matter. They are family and they are stuck with you.

As for your in-laws, don't be too upset. I am sure your husband understand... in my family, I have two sisters... one lives close to my parents' house, the other lived far away. We had a funeral (really a memorial) for my mother after she was cremated - one month after her death. The plans had already been drawn up, but my other sister lost all of the paperwork, so I had to start from square one. My distant sister said that we had to do it when she was on Spring Break. That was the only week that my husband couldn't make it, so I was alone making the plans. The church that my dad wanted to have the service at was having their carnival the week my sister was in, but he wouldn't budge so we had to have it in a carnival. My distant sister wanted me to also cook for the everyone after the service (a definite no). My father complained because I had scheduled a guitarist (my mother played guitar) and he wanted an organist. Can you see the pattern? I was so stressed with the bickering that I was on Xanax, but I pulled it off and my one sister and I split the expenses. Now, to top it off, I just found out that my distant sister stole my mother's ashes... Now, I look back and laugh... but I am telling you that your hubby does not sound like he will hold it against you just as I could not hold it against my hubby for not being there.

I still wonder what my sister is going to do with a box of ashes. My mother said that she wanted to be put into Christmas ornaments so she could continue to celebrate Christmas.... but I think my mother was joking. BTW, I don't have an attachment to her ashes, her soul is still alive and that is who I love. Please excuse the humor.

Well, off the the mole hole capital of the world.

Be careful out there!

emoticon except in the rider mode! My hubby is on his new shiny red toy this morning just cutting away. Actually, yesterday worked out the best it could considering--after the burial of his parents cremains, I told him to go home, get the trailer and come to the store to pick up his new toy. It helped him snap back again from an emotional time with the family, and gave him something else to think about instead of the loss of his Mom a few years ago (we still had her cremains) and his Dad's passing in January. They are finally together again and there is closure for the family in alot of ways. So, even that lawnmower has served it's purpose in more ways than one! (LOL)!!!

And today is the wedding anniversary party, and there hasn't been anyone that wants to cover for me. So, I give up! I'll go in and have explained it to my parents and sister and we'll have to make do.

I love your posts -- and, honestly, you make my day! You are super understanding and fun! Now that we have the lawnmower issue resolved on this end, we need to conquer your yard mounds/hole situation! emoticon

Have a great Sunday!

Jobs are funny.... I had a friend of mine who quit a good paying IT job in order to go to Jazzfest in New Orleans. So what you are doing would not be all that weird. In the worst case scenario, at least you will get the lawnmower at a discount!

Have you tried to switch with someone else in order to get the shift covered? Maybe the manager forgot or something. Talk to the manager... a lot of times they are just ditzy. I don't think they would mind what you do as long as the job got done.

Don't worry about my posts. I bloviate quite often, so you probably didn't miss much.

Stay cool and Good luck! I hope that you can find a solution to this dilemna!

emoticon Nope! But, I think maybe today. I'm in a totally tizzy over everything and I definitely feel that I have a right to be this time around. We are buying it from the department store where I work and we better buy it now so I can use my little employee discount when I can, as you wouldn't believe what they did now! They posted the work schedule this past Thursday and the fact that I needed Sunday off (for my parents' wedding anniversary party was well known and noted on the desk schedule and discussed with the manager) beforehand--and I'm now scheduled for 3-6:15! Those are basically the hours of the party, as I'd have to leave a bit after 2 to get there-- so I will be missing my own parents' party because of a low paying job with managers who do not care. I'll be spending roughly an hour on the road, three hours at work and maybe two hours at the party itself. I always love your word "warpath" and this Momma is on one for sure! I apologize for my ranting, but originally I agreed to work today in order to have tomorrow off--so, all in all, I will be missing my father and mother-in-law's actual burial of their cremains today (which will be only an immediate family event, but one that I know my hubby would have wanted me there for support but understood that the wedding anniversary was more important) and then tomorrow, I'll miss my own parents' major event which really hits my heart..as I feel like I have left everyone down in some way. I've never walked off a job, but I really am fighting the feeling to not do it today. Things will work out--at least that's what I keep telling myself.

I'm sorry I haven't been able to read your last post, as I'm in somewhat of a push to get everything done on my end so I can get to work. Ooohhh....maybe if I'm late, they'll fire me and the problems caused will be solved!

Have a great Saturday and let's keep smiling, my friend!

Well, I understand the trees falling and what a mess that can be... I had a 50 year old oak tree fall on our house a couple of years ago during that duratio. But it doesn't scare me that much anymore. I kind of learned to stay away from the big trees during storms. I had several trees fall on us during Hurricane Wilma a few years before that... and before that, I was in Kendal for Hurricane Andrew. I guess living with storms all of my life left me in awe. Once we moved to the mountains, the thunder was just that much more intense! I love that part of the mountains. Here in Richmond, it hasn't been so bad except that we have had electric flying out of the wall outlet. I think of all of it, that is the one that freaked me out the most. It was really neat seeing a giant spark and flying out into the middle of the room, although it was a little scary. That and it broke my daughters computer.

I am glad that you made it through the MRI so well. I think it would be great if they could have little tv's, tablets, ebooks or something during the MRI. I'd get my sparkpeople stuff done!

Anyone who goes what you have gone through should be given medals.

Okay... my thoughts are getting fragmented... I'll see if I can finish this a little later!

Have fun at work! Get better. I hope that you get off those bad meds too! Talk soon

Right now, the feeling is totally emoticon The brain and spine MRI is done and it took 90 minutes in that lovely contraption! The meds they gave me prior really didn't knock me out as much as I had wished, but I got through it--sorry to say, I think I'm getting used to those scans. Now, we'll just wait and see what the results are and if I can have an injection for the sciatic pain, which I'm not sure is the way to go, but we'll see. Just so my brain hasn't had more damage from the past mini-strokes since the last scan, that's the one that worries a person. But, I'm thinking positive.

And, you should have told me ahead of time about your liking the storms. You would have loved the ones we had the other morning. The rain is one thing, but the roars of thunder sounded awfully close and with the large trees in our yard, I'm always on the lookout for more trees damaging the house or garage. We were close the other year when the tornados came through and took alot of our larger trees and how it uprooted some to the point where the roots were standing upright with what looked like a pond underneath filled with water from the rain.

A night job sounds like something you may enjoy, but just so it isn't for alot of hours so you feel super tired the following day. But it's always good to keep your eyes and ears open for any good opportunity that you may enjoy.

Well, my meds haven't worn off yet and I'm having a hard time keeping my eyes open, so I better sign off and talk to you tomorrow. Have a good evening, my friend!

You sound like me... I babysit the checkbook like it was my second child. My hubby would rather balance the checkbook using the phone... call and see what your balance is method. He has the patience of a flea, but can put a dent in the checkbook quick. I've been trying to do the Dave Ramsey budget thing. Unfortunately, it says that I need additional income, so I am waiting for my iron to get back up to par so that I can get the energy to look for a night job. If I manage to do that, I'll be able to take care of the munchkin while hubby is at work, and when he comes back, he can take care of her. At least once you get the new lawnmower home, you shouldn't have any problem getting hubby to do the work!

We were supposed to get thunderstorms today. Storms to the North, Storms to the South... here we got nothing. If you want to send them our way, I enjoy them. I drove through a few hurricanes when I lived in Florida, but I must admit that they really mess up traffic. They weren't a big deal though. The winds were just barely above 72 mph.

I am glad that you seem a bit better. I can't imagine going through what you are living with. You should feel better that I also am awful when it comes to mixing words up. My father was the same, so I guess it is genetic. I am able to write better than I can talk. I am not a fast thinker, so talking is not my forte.

Tonight is a late night for me. Hubby had to work late, so that pushed dinner time back and I still have a sink full of dishes.

I need a vacation.

Today's feeling is emoticon as we're having heavy thunderstorms right now and at least they have quieted down a bit from earlier this morning -- they are still happening, just a bit quieter. But the rain!!! Downpour City!!! I hope it lets up as I need to drive in it shortly to get to work and I'm not sure the wipers are going to be able to keep up. They announced the same kind of warning on the radio a bit ago -- pull over on the highway if you are unable to see due to the rain. Even with your lights on, that can be scary with the thought of someone rear-ending you if they think you're moving and see your taillights and are unable to see that you are NOT moving! Oh well, we'll deal with that when I turn the key and take off soon.

And, I totally agree that I should donate this body to science! What a project I would be. Wonder where they'd start! If the mini-strokes are part of it all, which I believe they are, then I would hope they can start to do the research there! Tomorrow's MRI of the brain and spine should give us an idea again of what's going on and if there has been further brain damage. So far, the damage to the brain has been in the area that affects somewhat the memory in that I say words that are similar to what I want to say, but are totally different, like I want to say "popcorn" and the word "pumpkin" comes out! Strange, huh? I do think and talk fast, but isn't it funny that the words that I goof up on are somewhat similar in spelling, but not in meaning. The mind is totally awesome but I don't like the feeling or hearing how mine is working at times-it's very frustrating and, most of all for me, embarrassing, as I try to correct myself and the same wrong word will come out again. It doesn't happen all of the time and I never know when it'll happen, so I try to slow down my talking speed just in case. It's probably something I should have done anyway years ago--people always said I talked too fast! But, oh well, that's just me! And, that's why I really am freaked about this latest med that leads to memory and vision loss. I'll wait until I get the MRI results, but then I want to get weaned off the med and onto another safer option if possible.

And, no new lawnmower yet, but then he's been too busy to mention it. But it's a'comin I'm sure! Stay tuned........and keep your ear to the computer...as you'll be hearing the purr of the motor soon enough and me sobbing from the loss of the funds from the checkbook (LOL)!!!

I'll start with Hubby...His story is short and sweet. The doctors never figured out what he had other than "bacteria" which ate away at the nerves in his cervical spine, so they sent him home with Motrin, Tylenol and Benedryl. He still has no sensation in much of his face, legs and arms. They are clueless.

As for Lupus, I know what it is like... kinda. I never had it so I cannot relate to actually having it, but I know two other friends who have it. It is not fun. The way you described everything, you sound like you are a walking case study for every ailment known to man. I am not making light of it, I am just using sarcasm to hide my disgust for modern medicine so please excuse any appearance of insincerity. Although my family came from a strong medical background (grandfather, uncles, aunt and cousins were all MD's, Parents were Pharmacists, hubby was an EMT), I have grown to detest the medical field as being wildly incapable and unfeeling individuals. I have never been good at hiding my anger and every time I start writing something, it changes. I'm sorry.

The husband... that was funny. That is my husband that you are talking about. The boy who loves anything with a motor or electronic board. As I type, my husband is looking up technical stuff online. I have to say, out of the two of us, I'm the bigger tight-wad. Isn't it supposed to be the wife that spends all the money? I had to stop him because the budget just couldn't handle it anymore. I felt like Ricky Ricardo yelling at Lucy because of the dress she bought... except in my case, I was yelling about the electronics he bought. At least the lawnmower is something that is useful. Maybe he will be like your dad when he gets older... not wanting to leave the farm. That was so sweet when I read that. It made me want to go back in time. Somehow, I have a feeling that when he looks at your mother, he sees someone still in her 20's or something.

Well, I guess I better get back to work.

Please be careful! I want you better!

emoticon Headache again today! Guess the new meds aren't doing what they're supposed to be doing or helping. But the upcoming brain scan should give us more insight on what else could be causing these buggers! All I know is that I want to get off of the pills. They can cause permanent memory and vision loss--and I sure don't need anymore of either of those! I've had a few MRIs already, along with a PET scan and a number of CT scans. To sum up my medical conditions, I have Lupus, cervical migraines, herniated disks (with one or ?? pressing on my sciatic nerve), damaged sciatic nerve, small tumor on one of my spinal nerve endings, past lung masses which were removed during the open lung surgery last September, and I feel like I'm missing something--see, the new meds are causing the memory loss already! (LOL) Nah...it's just that my major organs have been affected by the lupus, all with the exception of my heart and liver so far and which is to be expected. Lupus is nasty, my friend, but once you have it -- it's there for life and I gotta make the best of it. But I'm not too excited about this upcoming MRI--as I thought last time they did one of the brain, I was put under and this time, just sedated a bit. They said I'd be in that lovely contraption between 60-90 minutes, so I'm really hoping that I fall asleep before they start moving me on in!

And, this lawnmower situation could be the cause for this headache as well. For pete's sake---I'm the one writing the check and my hubby is like bouncing up and down like a kid waiting for his new toy. Patience--but I know he doesn't have any! The guy I want to get credit for selling it works on Thursday, which is the same day as my testing, so wait and see, after my test, my hubby will be taking me to pick up a lawnmower. Hook up the trailer to the Jeep and there we'll be in the hospital parking lot and then off to pick up his new toy! I better start writing out the check now, otherwise there may be extra 0's somewhere if I'm still grogged out.

Onto the 65 years -- yup! Actually their wedding anniversary is tomorrow, the 25th, but we're having the party on Sunday. We had no idea on what to give them, but decided on a flat screen TV as Dad doesn't like to give up the remote, so if Mom wants to watch her programs, she can watch in another room, plus, they're are still talking about moving downtown, which I really don't know will happen, as they've been in the same home for those 65 years, but with Dad's Parkinsons (he'll be 89 this Fall) and Mom (84) the caregiver trying to do all on her own without asking or even letting anyone know what she's up to, it may need to happen, which is what we're all afraid of as it only takes one thing to happen to my Mom, and there will be no choice left--but I'm all for letting them live where they want to--my Dad says he wants to move into an apartment, but, yet, I ask him if he wants to really move off the farm, and he says, "We made it here 65 years, and maybe we'll make it another 65!" That's my Dad--starting to get misty-eyed here, so I better cut it short. I just love them soooo much and I can never imagine life without them.

So, back to smiles and tick talk! What did the dr. say as to cause of your hubby's Lyme's?

65? sixty-five? SIXTY-FIVE? Wow! That is a lot of years to be married to one person! That is great! I hope that they do something special for their anniversary! I know my husband and I won't make it that long... unless they expand human life expectancy! LOL! We married late. Heck... a lot of people probably get married 65 times.

I hope your MRI goes well. I am not sure what you have, but it is never fun being sick... although last time I had a MRI, I admit that I found it so relaxing that I fell asleep. I hope you are getting used to the medication that the doctor gave you.

You made me laugh with the lawnmower. Listening to you, it sounded like you were buying a new car. I can't blame you though. When we buy something like that, I always get a bit nervous. My hubby is so much better at spending money than I am.

I haven't gotten used to the ticks. My dog actually was the last to get a tick. My daughter was the first. I was second. My hubby never got bit, but he landed up with Lymes. Go figure.

Well, I'm off! Talk tomorrow!

emoticon I'm here and finally, a day not at work and a chance to catch up! I pulled off a few ticks from the dogs the other evening--with the trees in our yard and the season, it's always tick-checking time with my dogs. They both have long hair, so it's almost rare if I don't find one on at least one of them. And, I'd rather pick them off of them than find them on myself...they just give me the crawlies after I find one.

Now, I don't go into work until Wednesday--crazy schedule again this week. Thursday will be the brain and lumbar spine MRI and then back to work until Sunday, which will be my parents' 65th wedding anniversary party. So, I'll be going up, down and around once Wednesday comes. Until then.....catch up, yardwork and alot more to get ready for it all.

And, here we go...the news of the day!!! I have caved in of sorts! I'm getting so tired of hearing about the lawnmowers, that I've agreed to buy a new one. I went to a graduation party yesterday and wore a black lace sun dress--and after the party, we went to the store and here I am in this dress sitting on lawn tractors! Must have been a real sight! I was just worried the lace would get stuck on some shift knob or something. But, now it's between two of the tractors---and I hope we figure out which one will be the best buy and get it done this week yet. Wish me luck -- as I hope this answers all those lovely four-letter words that are being yelled in my yard for a few years at least!!!

Today, a tick in the house. Not a bad day though. I'm exhausted. I guess you are working... or I wouldn't be responding to myself.

Be careful. my friend.

I worry a lot. At least, that is what my husband says. When it comes to health, I worry more. I feel more comfortable having my husband sit with a drill on top of a gas tanker than I feel having him with a fever. The body is a complicated thing and I don't always trust doctors... they all seem to think they are God and I sometimes feel that they are too proud to ask when they encounter something they are not used to.

Well, I can't exactly fix the problem with the giant mole hills or whatever they are; quite yet. That is at the other house, our old house. I am back in Richmond. From what I understand, we've been getting a lot of rain at the old house. I don't know if that does anything. I am also unsure as to whether or not they are mole hills since they are twice the size of the mole hills that I am used to seeing. I keep wondering if they could be groundhogs or something.

Be careful with the deer. Especially the bucks. I know that they will charge you when they are in mating season. I never had problems with them though, other than there would come into our yard and eat our azaleas! LOL! I loved watching them. My daughter and her friend got the fright of their lives when they accidentally cornered a small deer in a little patio area. The deer was so scared, he tried to jump through a window to get out. The kids didn't know he was there until he charged into the glass and bounced off! They were all scared.

Well, I'm babbling. I think I worked hard and now I don't know what I am saying.

Please take care.

emoticon And don't worry 'bout me--I'll be okay. And, I do trust my neurologist. It's my body that I doubt most of all. I just wish I was able to adjust to new meds better or sooner than I am. But, I've always been like that. Give me an aspirin and I may see spots! I made it through last evening and, get ready for this one, I didn't even see an accident on the freeway on my way home BUT.................there was a large doe in my own yard when I pulled in my driveway! I had my headlights shining on her and she just stood there looking at me. Nobody moved! A minute or so later, my hubby came home and saw me parked sideways in the driveway and he had his headlights on the deer also and she finally went off into the trees along the side of our yard. Such a beautiful animal, but I was super glad I saw her standing in my yard and not coming across the road, as she definitely would have caused damage and/or been injured or killed if she hit the car. So, now I'm going to add my own yard to the deer lookout zone!

Glad to hear you had a good day! Now to attack those holes. How has the weather been in the area? I wonder if that has anything to do with the increased number this year for some reason. I have no doubt, you'll get the problem solved. Attack and resolution--full steam ahead, my friend!!!

You are starting to worry me. Strokes, no matter how mini, are still scary. I still don't trust the doctors, and the caffeine isn't all that great for you either. I actually gave the stuff up! The good that I was talking about is the family that you have that seem to have endless love for you. Don't blindly trust the doctors. This is your life. If this doctor isn't doing the job, don't be embarrassed to go to another! My father had a TIA and the doctor gave him a decongestant saying that it was all caused by inner-ear problem. Lucky for us, we went to see my cousin (an MD) a week later and he had another TIA at his office, so my cousin took him under his care, ordered the tests and found the problem. No doctor cares about you as much as you do. Don't trust them.

I remember those bees....I had yellow jackets there before and I was thinking the same thing. There are so many holes though, I don't know what to do with them. I know the moles eat the grubs so if i get rid of the grubs, that should help. If not, they will keep on digging. There were at least 50 holes this year. We had them last year, but not that bad!

Last night, I was awakened at 1 am, 2:30 am until 3 am, then 4:30 until 5, and then 6 to 7 then my daughter woke me up at 10:00. I should be dead, but for some reason, I had more energy today. It turned out to be a pretty good day though. I got two loads of laundry, the munchkin had to double up on her homework since she was behind (she had to make up the homework that she didn't do on Tuesday or Wednesday), dinner, kitchen clean up... I was busy. Unfortunately, my computer broke and my hubby has to rebuild the OS.

Please, please, please... go to the best doctor in the field. My uncle (a Pathologist (MD) in Miami) went to a doctor in Cleveland for a specialist because he wanted the best. Too many people depend on you. We have to keep you well.

We gotta emoticon and that's exactly how I'm feeling today! Second day on this new med and still feeling like I'm drugged out. I better snap out of it somehow as I'm going to another interview at 3 and then to my job at 5 to 10. I'm super worried I'm going to zonk out. Coffee doesn't even help--just time for this body to adjust and it always takes me way toooo long to adjust to anything new. But, I gotta try to stick with it if I want my pain and nerve ending issues to get better, along with the mini strokes, so I need to take the good with the bad and right now, sorry...it's all bad. But, the goods have to be coming and I want them all now! (LOL)

And, if I were you, I'd try pouring something down those holes in your yard. Good thing you haven't seen ground bees. Those things are nasty and they will find you, trust me! Then you'd have bees, bears, oh my!!!

Sounds like you had an evening that left you feeling like I do right now. But, you have a fresh chance on a new day and I hope you don't feel that way again today. Take it easy, hun. Leave the zonk land feeling to me---as it's part of my expected process and I'll keep trying to handle it for the both of us. So, just lean on me and have a wonderful and wide awake fun day! Now, let's just cross our fingers that I stay upright and awake until 10:30 this evening!

Have I ever told you that I think doctors are incompetent and insane? I feel so bad that the medications are not working. Call your pharmacist. My parents were both pharmacists and they would pick up a lot of problems with medications that the doctor would miss and they could also tell you if something is wrong and best yet... they give you free advice! My uncles are also MD's and they used to argue about the medical field all the time!

I have to admit that it is pretty cool that your son and his girlfriend came to help you out. I also think that it was great that he knew how to clean up! I can't tell you how many boys that I know that would be lost on their own. Even my hubby is a mess... he only know cleaning from working at the fire station - although he works hard. You have done good...good kids come from good parents. It also sounds like his girlfriend is pretty nice.

Today, I was dead. I think I over-did it at the other house... between packing the car, driving and spending hours that morning doing yard work... it was quite a task. Add in that my daughter was afraid of the bear so she had trouble sleeping at the house over there.. I came home and died last night! I am already wanting to go to bed again and I haven't even done the dishes. I still don't know what the big mounds were. I didn't have evil flying bugs coming out of them... although I was ready to run every time I hit one. I wonder if I have to dump some grub killer so whatever it is goes somewhere with more food.

Something is happening today though. This is the third time writing this response. I wrote it once, and it disappeared... I think I hit the back button or something. Then we had a power outage after the second time... so if what I write makes no sense... that is why.

Well, I gotta go unpack and clean a kitchen. Pray that I make it out of the kitchen alive! My house is a disaster again!

Nite!!

emoticon for today! I was put on yet another medication that is to help the nerve ending pain and it's day one and I don't think my body likes it. But, I need to give it time, and I'm just glad I don't need to drive today or I might be hallucinating as well and who knows what I'd see. At least I haven't seen any mountain lions, although I do remember hearing that someone saw them in the northern part of the State years ago, so I'm not certain where they are, but they can stay North of me--all okay with me.

Larger than mole holes? At first I was thinking ground bees or ants, but not if the mounds are larger. Hmmm...I've run over those types of mounds and poof -- up comes the dust and the bees! That's when you put the mower in high gear and get a move on!

And the weather and all of your mowing sure can cause the dehydration. My son and his girlfriend were here yesterday and they knew I wasn't in the best shape, so they wanted to clean my house! I was kinda leery at first, as I didn't want them cleaning the fridge or getting into drawers, as even I'm embarrassed at how much I have crammed in alot of them. But, they mainly did the kitchen cabinets and sinks, vacuumed and what I super loved was cleaned the blinds in the living room. I really hate that job and was so thrilled when I saw Leah was just cleaning away! So, when I came home from my dr,'s appt. my kitchen sparkled, my living room windows looked fantastic and I had two kids on the couch looking totally worn out! So, hydrate and feed was the first thing on the list for the guys.

And, I wonder why there is more than normal road construction happening this year? They say "cut backs", but yet there is always enough $ in the pot to work on the roads. Some, I agree need it and others, at least around here, would seem to be a no to me, but you know government and/or city hall!

I think I am the only one in the area who has seen the bear. I am glad that my daughter saw it too or I would have been wondering if I was hallucinating.

Today, I had to finish the other half of the LM word... yes, the dreaded lawn mower. It killed me. Usually, I finish it in a day. This time, I spent hours working on it two days ago, and again today. The soil seemed all loose and the machine was hard to push. We also have something that looked like mole hills, but bigger. It actually almost stopped the lawn mower when I ran over them. I landed up in a big cloud of dirt flying through the air! Like you, my head is killing me. I think I got dehydrated. Then I had to run home before the rain started and all I drank was coke. Then the drive...6 constructions zones. It seems like a lot more repairs than normal this year.

I figure that everything that I am talking about is old news to you. Bears, deer, mountain lions (which I haven't seen yet) are probably very cliche.

I hope your head is feeling better. People drive crazy... that is why we tried to get home before the dark set in. I feel your pain. I hope that you can work those drive out!

emoticon My dr. appt. is coming up in about 2 hrs. and it's a perfect day to see her! My head is killing me!!!

Sorry, I missed yesterday's "bear" alert! Yikes! We have them in our area also, but I haven't seen one yet this year and I hope I don't! My parents and sister have on quite a few occasions--a Momma and a few young ones! But, last night again, I saw another accident on the freeway coming home from work. I know I haven't driven at that time of the night for awhile, but I'm getting freaked out on the number I've seen already. Wish there was another route to take, but with all the road construction going on around here, the freeway is the best option for me right now.

So, off I go and talk to ya tomorrow!

I understand. I thought about getting a night job for extra income. I don't know how with the little one at home.

The drive to West Virginia is not a bad drive. The curvy section through the mountains lasts for about an hour. During that section, you make these turns which go about 180 degrees... at about 20 miles an hour. Once we got here, I put the blade on the lawnmower, started to cut until about 2 hours later, when it ran out of gas. Me too... so the munchkin and I went and ate... but on the way, we didn't see any deer... but we saw a bear in our neighbor's yard. The munchkin was terrified! We were safe though.

Well, I'm off... it is almost midnight.

Have a good night!

emoticon Oh boy, emoticon keep those eyes peeled for deer! And, I hope you have a safe trip! Cutting the grass--lawnmowers are still like a four letter word around our house! But, I'm watching every penny too right now, so my hubby is just going to have to be patient for a bit -- the one he wants to buy is like $1,500 and my money tree has died long time ago!

Maybe I should try watering it again -- I wonder if it'll grow those needed funds! If only! emoticon

I haven't looked at your page in a while, but I remember your son. He is very cute. I knew that you had problems with him, but I also knew that he was straightened out and is now in control of his life. When I was a kid, I went to public school until I had a straight F average... so my mother put me in private school. My daughter seems to be a remake of her mother. I put her into public school for Kindergarten, and she started picking up all these bad habits. She started hitting, talking back... I do not tolerate that.

Well, I gotta go... I understand what you mean about driving at night. Tomorrow I have to do my drive to West Virginia. I have to cut the grass! LOL! It is a drive through the mountains on a two lane road through two natural forests! Lots of deer.

I am glad that you got to rest though. Just please stay safe. I enjoy our chats...

emoticon and I just woke up! Last evening was a rough one for some reason. I started the video training, plus back out on the store floor, but I think the drive home in the dark afterwards was enough proof for me, that I can't be driving at those later and mainly "dark" hours. We have too many deer that like to cross the highways, so you're always looking off to your sides at the same time the oncoming bright car lights hit ya. Last evening, I saw one deer that had been hit laying on the side of the road, and a mile or two past that, police lights were going on the side of the road. A truck hauling a boat had somehow rolled into the ditch as all I could see when I passed was the boat and truck lights down below. Scary stuff to see and I hope everyone was alright in the accident, but the kind of thing that just makes a person more aware and tense while driving at the higher speeds on the freeway. But, I made it home and was sooooo grateful to kick off the shoes and try to slow down the mind to be able to sleep.

I know what you mean with sending our kids to school--I sent my son to a private school because I didn't want him in the public schools. But, looking back, I'm not sure I did the right thing sometimes. The school only went to the 8th grade, so it was a major culture shock when he hit public high school. WOW -- night and day difference and he did well the first few months, and then he totally hit bottom and the problems began. They talk peer pressure, if you've read my page profile, you'll see it's more than peer pressure sometimes-at least in our case. But all is well now, and I really don't know sometimes how we all made it through. But we did and somehow a bit stronger through all of the difficult years.

So, keep loving being home with your daughter. They grow up so fast and you can never get those years back--keep being a loving and caring Mom and one that she will always appreciate she has and with values and beliefs that she'll be able to pass along to her children in the years to come. Family love is the best and doing what needs to be done is a show of that same love that lasts forever!

It sounds like you're feeling better. You sound like you are 100%. I am happy to hear that. It is a shame that people discard anyone over 50. Makes me understand why so many people start their own business in retirement. At least you have a job that you seem to enjoy.

I am currently on the financial war path. I am trying to really tighten our belts. It is hard with a little one at home. If I go to work, then it is too expensive to get someone else to take care of her. So I have to stay at home and not work. I'm kind of glad though. I hated having her in school. She kept coming back with wacky thoughts and was afraid that if we drove somewhere in the car, the earth would cease to be livable.

Tomorrow is a new day. Enjoy the weekend. I look forward to knowing for sure that you are as good as you sound.

emoticon and even through the tough times! I totally agree with the near retirement age--I'm 54 and I can tell from a few of my past interviews at the retail level, they are looking for someone much younger as so many of those jobs are really strenuous and they automatically think a younger person can do better. If it wouldn't be for my last surgery, I could lift more than I ever thought--I probably shouldn't have because of the herniated disks, etc., but I did it. Did they apply for unemployment? I'd fight the company on that one for sure.

Not being able to feel your face or knees has to be awful--I know what the knee area feels like, but at least mine came back. Still comes back at times, but not to the extent of your hubby's nerve damage. He sounds like a super intelligent and knowledgeable man who has had to adapt to his medical condition, and I hope and pray all continue to goes well for him.

And I made it to work and even to the parking lot afterwards. It was a sunnier day, so it wasn't as dark as it's going to be this evening when I leave. I wish I would have heard something about the other job, but haven't as yet. I'm 99% certain I'm not in the running--so I'm not waiting for a call from them. I'm just keeping my eyes open as to the jobs on-line and hoping that my perfect job is out there. Now where to look next!!!!

I think a lot of people are upset over the firing of these two girls... they were closer in age to retirement, so they pretty much said, "who is going to hire me so close to retirement?" They are so full of knowledge, it is a waste. But there is nothing that I can do about that.

I have never had to endure the pain that you were going through. Mine has always been short lived. My hubby now has the opposite. The nerves were eaten away by the bacteria, so he can't feel his face or his knees. Considering he is a firefighter, he has to be careful. His ears could burn off and he wouldn't know that they were even hot. I have to just trust that he knows what he is doing.

Did you make it to work? Have you heard anything from the other job? I was talking today with my hubby. It costs more for me to work - and pay childcare, than for me to stay home. Extra income would be good though. I figure we will just do the "ketchup and water" diet! Just kidding. It won't be that bad, but I am going to have to really tighten up the expenses. I'm gonna try to get rid of some debt.

Geez. I think I must have had a really good day. I just started automatically shutting down the computer for the night without even thinking.

Well, have a good night. I'm off to do -MORE- laundry!

Thanks, hun. Actually, this past January my one dr. wanted to check on bloodwork as to the different tic-associated issues that are cropping up. But, my results came back okay, so we crossed that culprit off the list. So, I think it's just all back to the damage or "death" that I now have in that area, so it's going to be my way of living. And, trust me, you definitely don't want it and I hope and pray that you never do. I'll see my neurologist next week, so we'll be updating a few of the symptoms and the length of time that the flares have lasted. Just so I don't have to take more pills--please, oh, please--no!

As to your friend, I get upset too just by reading what has happened. I have no idea where people can, as you said, push their power, but sleep at night knowing they have caused major upsets in another person's life. It's like everyone is out there to protect their own jobs, which sometimes a person can understand, but never to this extent. People just don't know how to respect others and I'm so sorry that sounds the case here. And, even the point of the employee agreeing to lower wages---I wonder if by doing so, the new boss raises a red flag that is seen by his superior and something that, being new, doesn't want to have to explain the circumstances involved. It may be too late as they are no longer employed, but are they able to contact the main HR department of the company and have a confidential conversation as to the steps the new boss has taken and to confirm if it was proper for him to take the actions he did--and it may be an unfair labor practice and something that can be filed and at least reported to the superiors for them to check in the new boss's actions, as I'm sure they wouldn't want a lawsuit started for unfair treatment. But, yup, I'm fueled up as well -- people and respect -- why do these things need to happen!

Keep supporting your friends and keep being the best friend to them--as I'm positive they are so appreciative to have someone like you in their lives and on their side!

I feel so bad about your sciatica. I can't say that I understand what you are going through. I never had it. My only problem is really anemia... which is no big deal. When I am too tired to lift my arms, I just start popping iron tablets. I had lots of broken bones, but that is short lived. Being with a person with pain is different. Maybe your hubby would have been able to give you support, even though you didn't want him to see you cry. I remember when my hubby had the Lymes-Like disease, I wasn't there at first... he told me to stay away for fear we would catch it. Once I did come back, I was really glad that I was there to help him through it. I spent many nights with him... calling doctors, getting medications, dressing him, bathing him... I was glad that I could help him as the bacteria ate through his nerves...

My friend was told that they cannot afford to keep her, so instead of having a "Director", they were getting rid of her position to get a "Coordinator" for less money. That is a lie though. She just got a new boss, and he's just getting different people. They already reduced the staff by two people and got an additional line of income. The two directors that he fired both agreed to work for less money (half the pay), but he said that he couldn't do it. He would have to fire them both and let them both apply again and hope to get hired (a lie). He couldn't wait a year for the first to retire. Can you tell that I am bitter?

Please get better. As I said, I don't understand what you are going through, but it sounds horrible. I pray that you get better quickly.

Oh, oh...I'm back to feeling emoticon again. My sciatica pain is hitting the ceiling and when I came home last evening, I just wanted to sit and cry--which I actually did. And, I'm so glad my hubby wasn't home to see it. Just my two dogs who came and huddled and cuddled with me as they knew something wasn't right. So, today's plan is to wear my back and knee brace and see if it helps. Something has to work and I know I can't take any meds, as there is always that 40 minute drive home and I don't want to feel sleepy while driving, so I need to rework my plan of attack somehow. Today, I'll be working until later in the evening, so first time of walking out to the parking area and I think it'll be okay. I'll just need to walk as fast as my lower back area and legs allow me to.

And, I'm so sorry to hear about your friend. How long has she been at the job? I've seen that happen at the law office where I worked--your pay is at that higher level and they (Corporate) think they can hire two people for the price of one. That is so disrespectful to employees who have given their all and then get treated as such. Was she given a reason for the termination? As at the office, you're just told, "Your services are no longer required" which really isn't much of an explanation as I know I'd always want to know, "What did I do????"

But she has to at least feel better knowing that the 300 people who signed that petition were supporting her all the way. That's so great, but the whole feeling of having been let go, still hurts regardless. You are such a great friend for helping her through it all--a true sweetheart and friend!

And, yes, my hubby is a definite trip and I'm hanging on to him even though you know.....there are days!!! But, we gotta love 'em! emoticon

Take a rest. It is well deserved. As for the interview, you never know what comes out of an interview. If an ex employee gets it, that doesn't mean that the employer will think of you if another position comes open. I figure that they aren't going to go through the entire interview process if it was a done deal.

Today, I went to help someone pack their office. She is really great, but she got fired, regardless of a petition by about 300 people who didn't want her to leave. I felt so bad because she really did a great job, but now she doesn't know why she is being let go. I know what it is... idiots with power who wanted to flex their muscle! I told her that I would help her. I don't want to see her leave though.

BTW, your hubby sounds like a real trip. It sounds like you got a really great guy. I didn't know there were any of those left! LOL! Hold on to him!

I guess I better go to bed as well.

Rest up. Talk tomorrow!

I'm still emoticon away! And, I'm not even sure how my hubby mows that slanted area -- I wouldn't be surprised if he used a rope as well, knowing him.

Great to hear that your daughter is feeling better and the stomach and digestive problems aren't back in your home!

As to the interview, it went well, but I found that a former employee is looking to come back, so I have a feeling that would make it a "no" for me, but at least I went and spoke to the Office Manager just in case the former employee doesn't decide to take the job back. But, another we'll see and I'm not sure when I'll hear anything....it sounded like in a week or so, but I'm not holding my breath on this one. Oh well, I tried!

I know what you mean about the slant. My neighbor's yard is worse than mine. They completely bypass the safety warnings on the lawnmower, tie a rope to the handle and drop it down the hill... then they pull it back up again. Luckily for my husband, here in Richmond, we are pretty flat. I just wonder what the grass is going to be like in West Virginia when I get back there!

The little one is still sick, but she is moving around and doesn't feel as sick today. I don't think that this illness is as bad as the ones we were getting before. Those were full stomach problems with all the diarrhea and vomiting.

When do you find out about your job? How did the interview go? Did you like the place?

I'm on the emoticon today! The interview is in about an hour or so, but, you got it, sweet, sweet and sweet if I could get the job. Less travel and no dark parking lots!!!

But, I'm sure there is alot of competition for the job, so I'll be satisfied with my store job and at least I have that one! Today is the first real day of training, so by the time I get home this evening, my brain is going to be fried!

Glad to hear the moods have improved. I clipped yesterday and there is only one spot in our yard that is on a slant, but I can handle that one. You should see the lawn that my hubby needs to mow at the fitness club. There is no way that I would even want to attempt that one and I don't know why they made their back parking lot the way they did, but at least it's not that large of an area, but still, straight down you go and hang on to that push mower, as if you let go, it'll hit into the parked cars!

And, so sorry to hear your little one isn't feeling well. Hugs and take care of your little angel, hun! Gotta scoot..................

Wouldn't it be wild if they also offered you a job!? That would be sweet! Then you would just have to chose which you wanted. I am not surprised that you are going back. At least now you don't really need the job like you did before. If they can get you out of the dark parking lot, that would be doubly sweet!

Hubby is in better mood today. I didn't realize that this was the weekend that I was supposed to cut grass in West Virginia, and it is going to be raining there until the end of the week, so I guess I'll be making a quick trip before Father's Day! That yard is always fun to cut. It is on the slope, so on more than one occasion, I've had the lawnmower roll sideways down the hill. I have it to an art now. I also learned the art of running down the hill with the lawnmower so that you don't slide! Cutting the grass there always give me plenty of Sparkpeople fitness points! LOL! I actually like cutting the grass though. There is something peaceful about it. BTW, weed eater is still broken! LOL

My little one is sick again. I just made the run from getting her Ibuprofen and Acetaminophen. I knew it couldn't last. Fever and sniffles. At least it isn't another stomach virus! She kept us up all night again, so we are once again lifeless.

I'm off to put the little one down to bed.... gotta log my food first... Good night!

Love those pop-ups...NOT but love that you have lawnmowers that work, Actually, that is just what I came in the house from doing -- hubby was on one and I on the other -- and now he's trimming the hedge. Even though he hates our mowers, they somehow got the job done and that's what counts to me.

Get ready for this, BEFORE I go to work for Day 2, I have an interview in my City working at a medical office! So, I'll meet with them at 10:15, a.m., and then it better be fairly quick as I'll be off to get to that Day 2 on time! I think the parking bit will be okay as I only work until 5 tomorrow--so municipal parking lot here I come!

Have a super great Monday and let's hope our yardwork keeps getting done with a mower that keeps going and no black clouds hovering above from those frustrating words from our hubbies! emoticon

Don't feel bad. We had a push mower and I used to cut two yards, the one in Virginia and the one in West Virginia. I used to drive back and forth from one to the other. Then my hubby found someone with a ride-in that cuts the time in half. The guy gave it to him, but there was a hitch... the lawnmower engine had cracked. We had to replace the whole block. I have to say it is pretty good now. My hubby now uses that one to cut the grass in Virginia. The West Virginia house is too mountainous... the thing would roll over. I have to go back at the beginning of the week to cut the grass this week. I have even had the push mower tip on more than one occasion there. That lawnmower doesn't have a blade. I will have to put it on when I get there. Weed-eater is now broke. It is always something. Today, he complained that his helicopter broke. I'm still waiting for book shelves. LOL

If you are worried about walking out, usually they will allow the security officers to walk people to their cars. You should find out. They gave me that offer when I worked at the mall in Florida. I was always too impatient to use them though.

Darn it... I'm gonna have to cut this short. I just had a popup saying that Windows in installing something and will restart my computer.

Have a great night!

emoticon The orientation went well and, thankfully, it was only 3-4 hours long. I love learning about businesses, but hearing the Mission Statement and Store Culture over and over again can really get tiring, but at least I got paid for watching the videos! The people I met are super friendly and I really hope they stay that way once the real work begins. Next week will be more training videos so I'll get a better feel for the actual position as to labeling, etc., and then also what is involved in closing time. My only problem with that is that there is no where to park where I feel really secure walking out. There is the attached parking ramp at the Mall, but I think I've seen too many scary movies or something, so I'm not looking forward to walking around at 9 in a darker parking area, but I'm definitely going to grab someone that is leaving at the same time and, hopefully, I'll feel more comfortable. Or, I have the option of parking a block away in a municipal lot, but, again, I have been spoiled by having a parking lot right out the front or back door, so this is going to be a biggie for me.

Oh my word--don't say the word "lawnmower" around our house! My hubby is on a bit of a warpath right now. This morning he went to pick up both of my parents' riding mowers--one was going to get something done to the engine, but then the other one broke down on them this past week, so they're without a mower at all and they have a super huge yard! Then, come back to my house and I'm not even sure which one is working the best. I need to win the lottery or something and the first thing I'd do is scrap everyones' mowers and buy two for my parents and two for ourselves and start over! When it rains -- it really pours here! Yikes!

So, I'm home alone this morning, but.....get ready....as this afternoon, I'm planning on walking to the fitness center where my hubby works part-time and watch him.......use their brand new riding lawnmower! Then, we'll come home and I'll hear all about how why we can't buy a new one and I may need to figure out a way to avoid him also this evening until he moves on to another subject!

I am glad that you started orientation... that should definitely put your spirits up. I am sure that it will go well.

I am currently hiding from my family. Everyone was in a cranky mood today. I couldn't get my daughter to do homework today... and she didn't do it yesterday because we were shopping. I would have cut off her tv today if it weren't for my hubby coming home early. He was supposed to do some drills at the fire department, but he left his steel toed boots in West Virginia and was in a real sour mood. Then the lawn mower didn't work right for him and he also left his pruners in West Virginia as well. He isn't mean, but he sure isn't pleasant to be around right now, so I am hiding out in the basement until he gets over his grumpiness. I will hound my daughter later. She will just have to do homework over the weekend... and this weekend, she got her exams! Whoopie!

It really hasn't been that bad of a day. I just have to avoid everyone. LOL!

Well, I guess I better get to bed. Couldn't fall asleep and then I finally fell asleep and my hubby's alarm woke me up early. I really don't understand why someone would set the alarm for 5:30 am and hit the snooze until 6! How restful can that be! Well, it is only 1/2 of alarm aerobics for him and not that big of a deal.

Well, I am going to try to go to sleep... I can't wait to hear about your new job!

emoticon I start job orientation this morning! So I'm definitely on the move today-yikes! First days are always the best anyways. The whats, can I, how do you do that.....but we'll have a few answers by the time I get back home this evening.

And, yes, we are lucky to have our hubbies--mine had prostrate cancer a few years ago and what was thought to be rotator cuff issues, which turned out to be more indepth than we thought. But, we've made it through the tough times somehow and I'm so glad to hear that you have too. For better or worse.....sticking together through it all...all part of a marriage and love!

Have a great TGIF my friend!!

I too woke up too early. I have had a busy day. I actually bought a bathing suit, which put me back on the diet path. Those big mirrors are a reality check. I spent the morning helping a friend pack who just got fired.I am tired now.

My husband was always on the move until recently when he got the something-that-acts-like-Lymes. Since then, he hasn't been able to move like before. He's been working out lately trying to get his body back to working condition. Just enjoy him. When my husband got sick, it was a real eye opener for me. I am lucky to have him still.

I am looking forward to a quiet day tomorrow. I am not sure when you start working, so I hope that you are enjoying the time off while you still have it!

emoticon I'm on the run today! Lots to do and don't know where to start! And, yes, it would be nice to have the extra time to enjoy the outdoors with my hubby, but he is usually more on the run that me! He works at a local fitness club in the evening, so I usually see him from 2:30 to 5:00 and then he's off until later that evening. Makes that relaxation time hard to come by, as if he's not working, he's working on other projects and things that he has on his mind--like fixing the lawnmower, or a friend's computer... then is able to eat dinner, sit and relax a bit and then he's off! He is a definite mover, but that's how he always has been and it's hard for him to slow down in so many ways.

I woke up so early this morning, and I'm starting to get that same slacker feeling. I had big plans to start my day and well.....some have been started and some not yet.....so here's to a day of accomplishments and I hope you figure out your creation. You'll get it -- no doubt! It's just the frustration feeling that we have to get over first and then smooth sailing from there!

Love the day, hun!

I think you and the hubby should have a night out. There is so much that I would do if I didn't have a little one at home... and I think we would still sit outside even if we didn't have my little one. We like being outside - even if it was just the back yard. Now, you should treat yourself. You have a little extra income, you deserve it!

Today, I am paying for being a slacker. I have got to figure out how to create something on a website, and it has been kicking my butt. I have to admit that lately, I've been feeling lazy. I still haven't cleaned my kitchen. I guess I should do that now, then get back to this website that is kicking my butt.

As for tonight, enjoy your husband. He sounds like a pretty good guy! Life is too short.

emoticon I think I need to take more meds and lay down soon! I woke up with a killer headache and it's working into a migraine-like pain!

And, yup, I got a job. I have to get clearance on the background check now and then orientation will be set up. I am looking forward to it. Just wish the $ was better, and I'm not sure of what the hours will be, but I think probably around 20 or so a week.

It sounds so neat looking for satellites and just enjoying the outdoors around the fire pit! We used to do that when my son was young--invite a few friends over and just have fun and relax. But, once my son moved out and and his friends grew up and on their own as well, its back to my hubby and me and it's just not the same in so many ways. But we definitely loved it -- so keep on looking at the sky, my friend, and treasure those lovely fun times with your family!

emoticon I figured that you would get a job. I am so happy for you! Are you working every day? It sounds like you are happy and that is what really matters. I must admit that I hate shopping. I've been putting it off, but my daughter's boots are getting too tight and I have to bite the bullet soon!

We hung out tonight looking for satellites. Actually, we are still outside as I write this to you. It was pretty good. We got to see the International Space Station go by! It was really bright. We also chased lightning bugs and sat by the fire pit. Hey, it was cheap! I'm trying to save money. I can't get a job though. I still have the little one at home.

Well, I guess I better clean up and go to bed.

Have a good night.

emoticon And, yes, I got the department store job yesterday. It's low pay and not that many hours -- but I'm going to be merchandising away and seeing and displaying all the new clothing that comes in for the day! Plus a 20% discount even on clearance items--I better make room in my closet--as I'm sure I'll be bringing home more in the way of items than $ -- but at least I'll be active. The p-t attorney office interview was yesterday also, and they won't know until the end of June. But at least I feel like I can breathe easier as I have "something" to keep my mind and body active as ever.

emoticon on your afternoon nap! Bet it felt soooo good! Hopefully, today will be the same and you can get your rest and relaxation time in again!

You do realize that when you need a job, that is when it is the hardest to find one. I think the employers smell it on you like a bad perfume.

I had a lazy day... with good reason. Four times last night, the cat wanted attention! I think I will sleep well tonight. A miracle happened though. My daughter let me take an afternoon nap and then I felt better!

I know that you will get a good job. I don't have any question about it. You seem very well qualified and able. Don't get nervous because whoever hires you will be lucky to have you. I will keep you in my prayers none-the-less!

Don't worry! As Winnie the Pooh said, "You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think." You'll be fine!

emoticon only the fish head! Thinking barracudas, I'll stick with a book as well and on the shore! That must have been something to see--wow!

Well, we'll find out today again about those jobs -- someone should offer me something today! The only one that I think could make the offer would be the department store, as the other is a first interview -- so cross your fingers and let's hope I can get this job situation settled once and for all!

I have to admit, the last time I really went fishing, I caught a head. There was a fish attached to it, but we were on a boat off the Florida coast and while I was reeling my fish in, a barracuda came and ate the body (leaving me just the head). Now, I just take a book with me and read. This weekend was different for me though. My hubby brought her fishing, I stayed home and cleaned. It left us all feeling exhausted. Them two from fishing, me from getting so much done at the house. I am not complaining.

I like that they are offering you positions. I still say that you will be fine. I have no doubt about that. I think this week will be good for you!

emoticon and I sure hope we can! Tomorrow is the second interview at the department store and the first interview at a law office that called out of the blue asking if I'd be interested in a receptionist/clerical position. I really have no idea where I'm at sometimes -- I want this to be my last job 'til retirement. Actually we are somewhat alike, in that you caught the fraud accounts and I sued them! Go figure!

I haven't gone fishing in a super long time! I used to love it -- but I had to fish with a bobber and everyone laughed at me. I never could get the hang of feeling the fish bite by just the line -- unless they totally yanked on that worm/bait. But it was always relaxing to take the time, go down to the local park, plop my bobber in wait! We always took the dogs along too -- so if the fish weren't biting, I'd be walking the dogs and watering every tree I think in the park!

So, stay tuned...and let's see what this week brings! There again we're so alike -- never a dull moment, my friend!

Believe it or not, the Flintstone vitamins that my daughter takes with the fish oil is actually a gummy... but it just tastes bad.

It sounds like you are really into the merchandising. I must admit that I hate stores. I never really thought about the whole legal thing other than catching fraud accounts when I worked collection. I guess we are opposites. Don't feel bad about the opposites thing though, my husband is a firefighter with a degree in information technology and a background in communications. I haven't quite figured what I want to be when I grow up, i just know I have to get my house organized. Right now, keeping up with the two messes that I live with (hubby and daughter) is a job in itself. Today, I got lucky. They both went fishing!

I hope to find out next week where you will be working. I think you can do good where-ever that may be!

Thanks for your well wishes -- and the interviews went well. Who knows if I got any of the jobs, but I do like talking with managers, etc., I think my legal head is still in business, so I'm also interested in hearing about the companies or offices as a whole. Strange, huh? That's just me! Funny thing is, later yesterday afternoon, a law office totally out of the blue called me and asked if I'd be interested in a part-time position at their office as a receptionist, which would still include drafting documents, etc., also. So, I'll talk to them on Monday after I talk to another manager at a department store where I'm thinking about taking on a merchandising position -- I'd be active and moving and could see all the new clothing lines when they come into the store. I think I'm a Legal Beagle who loves clothes! Quite the mix!

Fish oil----ick! I know it's healthy, but I'm with you -- not my sort of thing. Gummy vitamins sound alot more appetizing. Just remember to grab the cherry ones! They're usually the best! emoticon

Good luck on the interview! I am sure you did fine! The weekend is here and you can take a break!

The vitamins that they have now have fish oil I can't understand how she could enjoy those horrible tasting things, yet scowl at real food. I don't understand it at all! I used to eat normal vitamins, but the only thing I can get my hubby to take are the gummy vitamins, so rather than getting my own vitamin, another bottle for hubby and a third for my baby, we share the gummy vitamins. My hubby is just like my kid and only eats the good stuff.

I am glad that you are back. I was starting to worry about you!

I'm still in the emoticon mode today! One phone interview this morning and then speeding off to another City for yet another interview. I'm feeling frazzled after yesterday's appointments and am just waiting for this afternoon when I can be back home and take my shoes off and breathe!

I love the vitamin burping! Maybe she thought she was giving you a treat as she likes them so much. Or, just something to bring that extra smile for you -- just thinking, my hubby always took those vitamins along with my son in his younger years. I had a regular Fred and Barney going on in my house for years. Go figure! emoticon

Every once in a while, it is okay to give your body a break and take it easy. I don't think you ever take a break!

I'm currently burping up Flintstones vitamins. THOSE THINGS TASTE AWEFUL!!! I DON'T KNOW HOW SHE LIKES THEM!!! LOL! She snuck one into my bottle of vitamins... It makes no sense. How is it that she likes those awful-tasting things, but doesn't like regular food?

Reading about your son made me think about how lucky we are to have the little ones. They are such a pain, but they bring so many smiles. They all think that they are all grown up... like my seven years old! I guess they are worth the work.

I guess my munchkin needs a bath! Good night!

For some reason, I just feel emoticon today. I have alot to do today and don't have enough energy to get it all done. The coffee isn't doing its thing -- and that means, I'm not either! emoticon

Maybe it's time to put in my movin' music and get this body up and energized again today!

My son used to do the kicking also when he was little and crawled in bed with us. He couldn't lay straight to save his soul--but in some ways it was comforting knowing and feeling that he needed his Mom close to get over those bad dreams and sometimes the night terrors. They were the worst--his eyes were wide open but I knew he was still in a sleep mode -- and it took a bit to slow him down and wake him up enough to get him back to sleep.

My hubby doesn't travel as part of his job -- he was home due to having gout and then the long Memorial Day Weekend.

So, time to find those CDs and get a movin' for the day! Have a great one!

I took it easy today, but that was because my daughter kept us up all night. She is afraid of the dark again and afraid of being alone. That means that hubby and I are now sleep deprived. She decided that she was going to climb into bed with us, but was kicking all night. I'm dead.

I guess your hubby travels... Mine does sometimes, but right now he is home.

I think I am going to fall asleep while writing blogs.

Good night.

emoticon pretty well sums up how I feel today! These past days have been busy and, now that my hubby went back to work today, I can get back to a quiet house and my daily routine.

And super emoticon as to your events! Oh my, I'm sure that home looked sooooooo wonderful, and today you can look forward to smoother sailing! Try to put your feet up, hun, and rest today!

I hope that article helps. I've been looking! I'll keep sharing what I find. I figure my problem is that my hubby works all day and sometimes leaves town, so I have to figure out what I can do with a child at home!

I drove home today... it was a killer. My hubby was in the car in front of me... He was able to go up the mountain easier than my car (he has an 8 cylinder, I have a 4), so I figured that I could go 5 over the speed limit downhill to catch up. I got pulled over by a trooper for going 9 over the speed limit (I was wrong about what the speed limit was). Luckily, I just got a warning. Then, we had to stop for lunch at Wendys... they didn't have fries made and where going to bring them to my table, but then they had a shift change and forgot. After that, I went for gas, the automatic shut-off was broken and gas shot out of my tank and all over my car and clothes. The attendant said that I wasn't the first one. It was really stinky the rest of the way home. I opened the sunroof, but the latch was vibrating so I had to hold it the whole time.

I have to say, it is good to be home... It was a rough day. I guess it could have been worse. I am looking forward to a break.

I look forward to hearing how your day went.

Have a great night!

emoticon What a great way to feel tired--friends and fun! I'm not certain what is going on in our community--usually not too terribly much. I'm still thinking of what events I'd like to create for this afternoon. Thinking of maybe grilling out and having my parents come to my house for a change so my Mom doesn't have to cook. I've been at their house so much and it feels like I eat there every day -- so it's my turn to do the cooking, or maybe, more so, my hubby! The King of the Grill!!

And, I'll have to check out the article you shared. Our answer is out there, hun, and maybe this article can shed a few great possibilities or thoughts that we can work off of.

Today I was so tired, but in a good way. My friend went home today and left me tuckered out and then my munchkin went to play with her friends up the hill. It was nice that she got to go back to our old house and see her old friends. She really doesn't have many friends in our new house. Her friend is also home schooled... her parents both work full time, but do their schooling at night, so it works with my daughter's schedule. The other good thing is that our old house is located near 3 national cemeteries, so they have a lot going on during Memorial Day!

I thought about our job thing... thought that you might want to see this...

I figure that your son may have moved away, but it might offer you some additional income.

Well, I'm off to bed.

Be careful, my friend.

emoticon I understand about the feelings dealing with how some parents watch or don't watch over their own kids. Especially when my son was in his teens! WOW -- I remember a few didn't even know where their Mom or Dad was sometimes! Communication problems galore! That's probably why my son got upset with me--I at least wanted to know at whose house he was at or going to. They want their independence, which I can understand, but they need to follow the ground rules as to family at the same time. That's part of parenting and mostly love!

I hope you have a fantastic weekend and see ya on Tuesday!

I thought about that, I just get nervous with other people's kids...especially when they are undisciplined - with parents that don't care. I like having a kid that I can take anywhere. I remember once going to where my hubby was working and one of his co-worker's kids was dancing on the coffee table, then jumping on the sofa. The chief got mad and told her to stop... the parents complained that he was taking sides, choosing my daughter over theirs. That is where I leaned that I cannot handle other people's kids...or should I say their parents!

I'm still working on it, but this weekend, we are enjoying ourselves. We are celebrating Memorial Day! Thinking will resume on Tuesday.

I hope you are enjoying your Memorial Day weekend! You deserve it! Sit back for a change!

emoticon my friend! Just thinking, how about if you had a small daycare service in your home. You could write-off some of your expenses as business use, plus not worry about where your daughter is to go if your hubby is out of town. Just a thought!

And, that's what we have to keep doing! Thinking of ideas and one day our answers will come!

They say that God works in mysterious ways... maybe there is a reason that you were without a job. Maybe it is because your parents needed you. I can't imagine how you would have found the time had you had a job.

I am still trying to figure out the whole job thing. My hubby sometimes has to travel, so if he is not in town, what do I do with my daughter? I keep thinking home business, but the problem is that I don't have talents.

I too love the animals, but we kept it down to one can, one bird and whole dog. Any more, and I'd be pulling my hair out.

Well, it is off to bed for me... have a great night.

I totally agree with the paperwork involved for our children to attend college. I've already paid quite a bit for him, but it doesn't seem to end. Oh well, whatcha goin' do! Keep up with the flow I guess as he MUST finish college--and I'm always afraid he'll just give up the schooling due to his work hours and life! But, so far so good!

I love the clawing cat and the cold-nosed dog! I have two cats and one sounds exactly like yours! She isn't declawed and she has a motor that runs non-stop. You can hear her purr from another room sometimes--and same with my dogs. I have two of those as well--so, two cold noses--Bud sleeps by my feet and likes to lick my toes, and Kasey sleeps on the floor next to the bed. Can you tell I love animals! Yikes! At least all of my pets are rather small -- otherwise there would be no place to live in our house!

As to the job situation, I had a phone interview yesterday with a local bank -- we'll see next week or ? how that turns out and if I get called in for a face-to-face interview. I know the right job is out there--I just need to keep looking at the bright side--my parents need my help more than ever as my Dad's Parkinsons and mobility is decreasing rather quickly and Mom can't handle as much as she has and is doing--but she refuses to give up or ask for help. So, I just get in the middle of sorts helping Dad so Mom can take more time for herself and to relax knowing things are under control. Right now, we're working on yardwork..so Dad is able to sit on the swing outdoors while we're in the flower gardens..and he more or less is my Supervisor--with a super smile and grin! Love it!

My munchkin is only 7, but I'm not looking forward to her leaving... I told her she can marry when she turns 40!

Those financial aid papers always ticked me off. Why should what your parents make really play into whether or not you get a loan. Heck, what if your parents are not giving you any money... then you shouldn't have to include it! I guess that's life in the USA and those are the papers that I spent the whole week organizing! I feel so much better. I found my desk!

Sleeping here is a luxury. When we don't have the munchkin waking us up, it is either the claws of a purring cat, the cold nose of the dog or if it is daytime, the yell of a bird. This is a noisy house. I don't get to sleep much. Luckily for me, my daughter had engineering today so I got to sleep in the car while she studied types of energy! Those classes are really worth it. Without them, I'd never get sleep!

Well, I guess I gotta get her to bed. How's the work situation coming?
