Catholiccorgi,
You sound like you have such a great, positive attitude, especially with your dh's illness and good for you for taking care of you and 21 pounds is wonderful and I think you will make it to 190 by your goal date. You can do it!!! Spark on!

And I agree, I love this site and I love this team and my other two teams too. I've made many new friends and I feel like we are in this together.

Well, for me, I'm the lowest weight(highest was 245) I have been in years... 193.1. Starting at 214 with SP, I am almost 21 pounds lighter. I am definitely "fitter". I hadn't used my Wii in over a year, and now I've done a Body Test 134 days in a row. I go through spells of exercising every day. I'm committed to walking the treadmill for 10 days at the moment. It is a start. I am faithful to wearing my pedometer every day. My goal is 190 by June 1. It IS do-able if I exercise daily and eat sensibly. I'm not in a race with myself to get the weight off. I just want to consistantly lose over time. I am actually enjoying my journey. My life has gone haywire with my DH's strokes, but I am still taking care of ME. Even the smallest thing I do to help ME stay sane is good. The weight loss is an added bonus.
SP has turned out to be a whole lot more than a weight loss plan... more of a balancing act and the tools to cope with life better.

I think people come and go as they need SP in their lives... it is nice to have a "homeroom" to come back to. It provides a way to see everybody's blogs and how they are doing.
Life ebbs and flows... so does Sparking. It feels good to be a part of something bigger than yourself, something that matters in the long run. Something that helps you become a better person, and allows you the ability to positively affect others' lives, too.

May your Spark Journeys be filled with joy and much success!
Peace be with you!

I've lost 20, but I don't have any set program. Most of the loss came from just paying attention to what I eat, but I haven't been tracking anything, it seems like too much work to keep an accurate record - I mean, how do you account for "splash of marsala wine added because I was burning the chicken"? (yeah, yeah, i know, excuses, excuses)

Anyway, I've been trying to add in more exercise, but oddly, despite losing 20 pounds, I almost feel fatter. Objectively, it's probably not true, but since I haven't been taking measurements, my old joke of "Medium arms, and a XXL belly" seems even more apt at the moment.

Kind of frustrating, even though the scale is that much more friendly than it was back in September.

I was thinking the same thing. Well in the 7.5 months since I've joined, I have lost 17 pounds which isn't fantastic but I'll take it. I mostly do the 17 day diet which is pretty much no sugar or flour and I exercise 2 hours every weekday and try to get in activity on the weekend. I am still working on getting rid of some of the belly fat but otherwise I'm shaping up pretty well for a 60 year old. I have about 14 more pounds to lose and am hoping to get most of it off by June 17th when I leave on a cruise. How are you doing? What kind of program are you following?

Thought I'd throw out a new topic, as the others have dried up. Curious how many people are still checking into to SP regularly, and as to how we as a group are doing since we joined up.
