Upper arm measurement is the same, but gain in waist and hips together with 0.3 kg gain but 2% body fat loss. Lots of moving around in there, I guess. Tried on the target 3-piece pant suit slated for March 1st graduation of DS#1. Top and blazer, size 12p, fit perfectly. Pants fit fine in the butt and thighs but that tummy bulge will need some serious foundation garment management!

I wasn't able to do conventional weight training this week, but scrubbing concrete walls and dusting the ceiling fixtures along with lots of other heavy cleaning trimmed down my upper arm measurement to 31 cm and my wasit is 82! Hips plumped out 1 cm. Gotta hit the streets and walk that off.

I DID turn on the heat before I measured this morning. Waist is the same, hips are down to 105 cm., upper arm is now 32 cm. and body fat % in 39.3%. With these measurements, I've been able to buy Japanese-sized underwear and a bra although they don't use cup sizes so I had to stand around in the aisle punching my fist into the bra cups to guesstimate what would fit. I'm sure the security camera supervisors had a field day with that!

No change in measurements this week, but I can't be sure. It was too cold to really do the job right. Best guesstimate that it's status quo. Next time I'll turn on the heat BEFORE I break out the tape measure. LOL

Who knows if I have mastered the measuring tape yet, but this week it says I lost 0.5 cm around my waist and 0.7 cm around my hips giving me a waist-to-hip ratio of 0.78. My upper arm is at 33 cm which is supposedly down 2.5 cm, but I think I just can't measure it very accurately by myself. What is accurate is my % of body fat is down 0.8%. I'll take it!

I lost half a centimeter around my waist this week, but the hips stayed the same. My new underwear is rated for up to 105 centimeters and they fit fine which leads me to believe I may need some lessons in using the tape measure....Case in point, this week my upper arms jumped back up to 35.5, that's a jump of 2.5 cm. Same as two weeks ago. I think I maybe tape measure challenged....I'll keep trudging on.

ok, here it goes with my numbers,
Thighs 20 inch or 51cm
Hips 41.5 inch or 103cm
Waist 34.5 inch or 88cm
Upper arms 13.25 inch or 34cm

Hope I got the metric numbers right. The only change in numbers for me over the past 3 weeks has been in my hips. I'll post each week through out December. Will be a great motivator to keep working out, especially considering the time of year.

I'm going to be brave... I haven't measured anything in years, so I am not sure if I will get it right...but that doesn't matter. It is taking the first step to begin with that matters!
Here goes...the numbers are!

Hopefully there will be a change after a month passes.

Here it is WI day, again. That was fast, didn't I just do this yesterday? Seems like it. The big loser is hips this week (about time...) Lost 4 (count 'em) centimeters on the old hips. There is nothing uniform about these body changes. There's no change for weeks, then suddenly zap and a chunk is gone. The mysteries of the body. Must remember this when I don't see any action with the tape measure or the scale. Sometimes things are moving around hidden from view.

I'm a weekly measurer as the changes are visible and I WANT TO KNOW what the heck is going on. Here goes: waist -.5 cm, hips - same (I bet they are the last things to shape up - must be some kind of Murphy's fitness law), upper arm lost 2 cm. Must check out the tricept videos on SP. In the no measuring tape zones, my forearms look like they belong to somebody else and the line between my waist and my hips no longer resembles the beginners ski slope, more like the low intermediate slope!

This is weigh in day and measuring day for me. Lost 0.5 cm around my waist, hips the same and gained 1.5 cm around upper arm (pumping iron is showing results!). Waist-to-hip ratio is 0.76 AND my fat ratio is DOWN 2%. Since I didn't lose much in the body measurement department, but I lost 1.1 kg., it sounds to me like things are shifting around it there!

With body fluctuations, water weight, etc. using a tape measure is really a monthly thing. I'm in if you want to start a monthly measure on the 1st.

There has been lots of chatter about not relying on the scale too much to track progress. Let's put our money where our mouths are and so I've started a weekly measuring tape results. Come on everybody, get out the tape and read what's happening in different parts of your body.

10/30/11 Waist: Lost. 1.5 cm, hips: lost 2 cm, upper arm - no change
Body scanner says I lost 0.9% body fat!!!!! in one week!!!
