Nice job!! Keep it up, you can do it! I've lost 20 pounds so far, most of it on the 17 day diet which I love and another team I'm on. Check it out if you'd like. It's a really healthy diet with great results. We'd love to have you there.

Catholiccorgi,
Wow! Nice job! and Yoitle, building muscle is great for long-term success. I'm plugging along, trying to get back on the 17 Day Diet after a 10 day vacation.

Kind of hanging about at 182lb (13st 0lb 82.6kg) for the second week running. Feeling slightly grumpy with myself, life, the unfairness of it all, why some stuff is just so bl**dy delicious etc. Tsk! However I am now down 50lb from my start so there's a bit of an incentive to push on ...

With all the excitement this week, I missed Sunday's WI so I'm doing it on Tuesday. Gained 0.3 kilograms but lost nearly 2% body fat. I take that as a positive as I build muscle easily.

What a great way to start 2012 with a WI day where I lost what I had put on last week and 0.2 kg more! All those long walks this past week really do have a positive effect on my health and fitness. Tracking, tracking, tracking - that's my mantra for January.

Me, too. Gained 0.8 kg this week. No surprise. A hundred extra Christmas calories a day and several days not working out will give instant results. Time to get back up on that horse and ride to my health and fitness goals. Happy holidays.

Sunday WI day. I lost 0.8 kg this week which is almost exactly on target for a weekly loss. I'm amazed as almost each day, I organized my nutrition to include a treat, pork and sauerkraut with mashed potatoes, pig's foot, and apple strudel (anybody see the German theme here?) I guess I'm figuring out portion control and fitness.

Even more exciting, my body fat % in now below 40%! emoticon

Somehow managed to lose 3lbs. this week, despite having spent 3 full days baking Christmas goodies for Friday's family christmas party at the nursing home, being in Melbourne and not being able to plan what I was going to eat in advance, and then when I got home giving into temptation and eating fish and chips for dinner that night... maybe I've stumbled on a weight loss secret - go shopping, carry heavy bags for hours on end, then get up and dance and sing the night away before coming home to serve 90 people Christmas dinner.! emoticon
Nah, thinking not... I'm still trying to get my energy levels back to normal, and its Monday morning.

I deserve to be healthy and happy, and no one can do that for me but myself!

Sunday, WI day. Lost 0.4 kg. Amazing since I've hardly moved at all for the last half a week. It became winter this week. It usually takes me a week to adjust to serious weather changes either going hot or going cold. Expect to be adjusted by next week and back at Mr. Elliptical. Think he missed me?

Going to Rheumatologist this morning. Will see what his scale says. Should be down from last visit to him.

On the Wii...206.8 On our bathroom scale...207. Two tenths isn't a big deal now.
I think this is a more accurate assessment of my actual weight loss... I lost very fast the first few weeks. Now I am getting to the REAL fat! LOL!
Seven pounds in nine weeks is a little less than a pound a week. If I could lose that consistantly each week from now on, I think it would be great. The loss would be adaptable for my body, and I shouldn't have drastic fluctuations.
SO, I am going to aim for 1 pound a week, or average that each month.
Going to wait until Saturday to do my measuring... may ask DH to help so I am more accurate there. Asking for jelp when I need it... emoticon

I was 207.5 this morning.
Sodium is a thorn for me... I am fortunate to not have BP problems, but I must get the sodium under control!
I am going to seek to gauge my successes by how I feel and improvements in my clothing size. Going to figure out how to measure properly, too.
All in due time! This isn't a race or a sprint...it's a life long journey. I am only competing with myself!

That scale is certainly not your only measure of success! I've had weeks where I haven't lost an ounce, and I've done everything exactly as I should, then other times I've really pushed the limits and lost extra weight. I was only interested in what the scale said when I first started here, but have changed completely - I am now way more concerned about how I feel (energy levels) and how I look. I've come to the conclusion higher sodium levels the day or days leading up to my weigh in day can play havoc with my weight, so added sodium to my tracker. Really found it helpful, and avoids those supposed 'gains'.

As for my weigh in this morning, I lost another 2 pounds... only 10 pounds to my tentative goal weight, at which time I will decide whether I want to lose a little more or not. All depends on whether or not I can fit into the clothes I bought myself last year before I started eating for Australia.

I deserve to be healthy and happy, and no one can do that for me but myself!

Posting this here today so I can see it, and be motivated to get rid of whatever the added weight is from...
209.0! Up 5 pounds!
I WILL DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS!
I WILL BE FAITHFUL TO TRACKING AND DRINKING MY WATER!
I WILL ACCEPT whatever the scale says on December 1, 2011... and be grateful for it. As long as I do my best, it will be fine. The scale is NOT my only indicator of success!

Sunday -WI day. I gained 0.4 kg. The fitness tracker has been wagging its finger at me saying I'm burning too many calories for my nutrition range and I need to redo my fitness plan or my progress is going to get muddled. I guess they know what they are talking about. I really do have to eat!

The future starts now.

Thank you, Yoitle! My weight was down 2.5 pounds this morning, so I am hoping my consistancy will pay off in at least being 204 on the first of December. The yoyo fluctuation from meds and just body changes can be quite a ride! My eyes are set on the prize a year down the road...

I started out at 214. I've lost 10 pounds. I do a Wii Body Test every morning. My weight can fluctuate up to 5 pounds overnight. So, I do not put much stock in daily weigh-ins, but I do like being accountable. When there is an overnight gain that is not due to medication, I can usually go back to my daily tracking and see where I ate/drank/exercised or something to pinpoint what happened. My body is changing. I feel better. I look better! The numbers on the scale do not determine whether I am successful or not. A scale is only a tool to be used to help gauge my progress.
That said, I am going to begin weighing in here the first of each month.
So glad I found this team... I feel like I have a SP home base now!

Weight remained the same this week, despite good food choices and increased exercise, but I can feel and see changes in the shape of my body - beginning to look like the person living in it is taking care of it as she should - at long last. Where losing weight was my primary focus in the early days, feeling better than I used to and being able to do a little more each week than the one before are the things that I measure my success by. Mind you, feels great when I have lost weight too, heheh.

I deserve to be healthy and happy, and no one can do that for me but myself!

Sunday is weigh in day. I have lost 1 kilogram exactly, and 2 centimeters in body measurements. My BMI is down 0.1. As long as it's on a downward trend, I'm happy. No coffee or tea anymore because it makes me hyper. I invested in some spelt spaghetti this week. I was horrified at the price until I realized that one package has 6 servings in it which brings the price per portion below a dollar. Really reading the fine print in the nutritional analysis on the package pays off!

I am heading in the right direction!! I weighed in this morning and am now 241.8. That is 4 pounds this week!! :) This was even a mini vacation week, but I found that portion control helps tremendously even if the food I choose was not so healthy (ie: chocolate cheesecake!!) It was my partners bday after all!!

Another week and still the same weight. Part of the issue may be my doctor told me to eat a minimum of 1600 calories per day. I was very discouraged when she told me this, but I have to admit I have more energy and feel better after I went back to up 1600.

My stomach is down two inches from when I started so I can tell that good things are happening to my body even though its not reflected on the scale. It is just frustrating because I am just 4 pounds away from a normal BMI and I would really like to hit that number. I am going to try to vary my exercises a little instead of just doing the same routine every time.

Hi BackUpAgain;

Thanks for you post. I remember the first time I was tracking food stuffs and then had the "adventure" of attending a spontaneous dinner at a restaurant. One thing I learned was that some sites on the web offer up the calorie count/nutrition for restaurant platters. It doesn't help you in the moment, but does give a realistic instant-reply for the nutrition. For me, seeing that replay allows me to take responsibility for my actions. Another thing I learned is that I can select restaurants that I "like" ahead of time, and pre determine what I'm going to eat so that I don't experience guilt or angst in the dining hall.

Happy Birthday!!! And way to go.

I Can. I Have. I Will. I Know.

I weighed on Thursday and I'd lost another 2lbs or so though didn't do so well with the eating last week and didn't drink all my water...I also fasted on Wednesday with paranoia and part thursday so by Friday I was starving and ate loads...

However back on track on Saturday and weight was the same Sabbath am...Here's hoping with the ridiculously early start (meds change - 4am) - I can go jogging @ 6 (just week one couch to 5k) and like lose some pounds..

And yeah the sleep pattern will take a while to work out but if I kNOW I'm just going to sleep for 7 hours a night (which is all I need in reality) then I can adjust schedules...

Blessings

Jane
PS. Bra is already looser...Even in the evenings. Yay think I'm going to leave it another 7lbs though before I get another and I have a 20 voucher for the lingerie store from doing some work for social work students the other month.... :)

Lost another 2lbs. this week, which really surprised me - my birthday on Friday, lots of eating out and no access to Spark People, so just had to guess what I should be eating - specially when dining out. Nerve wracking to say the least, and would have been releived just to stay the same weight as last week.
First tiime I have indulged just a little, then picked up my act and managed to get back on track, and that's all thanks to Spark People! emoticon

I deserve to be healthy and happy, and no one can do that for me but myself!

I bought a new digital scale and body scanner on Sunday, my weigh in day. It says I'm 2.5 kg heavier than the old scale. The new scale corresponds to what the gym scale has been saying. Oh well, whatever. The tape measure doesn't lie. Gotta go readjust my numbers in my profile.

The future starts now.

I did weigh in on Monday, but refuse to believe I gained back all 3lbs I lost in one week. Will see what the scale says this coming week and adjust accordingly then.

BUT and it really is a BUT I haven't been able to be on the schedual as well because of my goings on I had a 24 hr fast and I know that's not good as I've found out the hard way then I'm really really really hungry and it was Thanksgiving that very day when my fast ended so I really ate, also didn't do breakfast for about 4 mornings this past weekend because of holiday, however except for my 24hr fast I have been drinking my 8 of 8 at least of water if not more. And I am back on schedual however I will not be able to weigh in next Wed. as I won't be here so it will be 2 weeks before I can. I will be doing all the things I've been learning here, so I'm not terribly upset I do realize my mistakes and my 24hr fast is only once a year just wasn't a great timing thing is all.

Blessings

My weigh in day was yesterday, and I forgot to post it on here. I went back up to 170.2, I am very frustrated.

I eat and I gain, I don't eat and I lose. I mean don't eat like no breakfast, no lunch and a simple dinner. I eat a healthy breakfast and a decent lunch and a simple dinner and work out and I gain.

I am going to give this healthy eating thing some time and hopefully everything will even out.

Have an awesome day.

Everyone is doing great!

I don't know if it really matters which type of scale you use as long as you continue to use the same scale and weigh yourself at the same time of day every week.

I like the digital scale because you can see smaller improvements.

Still down, not as much as I would have liked it to be, not quite a full pound but I'll take it.

I increased my activity this week to 5 x 30mins on the Elliptical. This is why I thought I'd have a slightly higher loss...but...

I also slept like crap this week. This was the first full week my husband has been gone...I never sleep well when he is away, I can't fall asleep until 1 or 2am and I sleep lightly when he's not home, listening for sounds around the house.

This is going to be a LOOOONG month, if I can't get my sleep patterns under control.

I also spent the day on Thursday with Mr. Depression. I got into a deep funk on Thursday. I recognize now that I'm lucky I was able to crawl up the banks and out of it by Friday night.

Fingers crossed this week is better!
