Life in general - When something is upsetting me, think ahead 5 years - will this matter then? It really helps put things in perspective.
Weight - when tempted to eat something that will taste good now but isn't in my food plan, think about how I'll feel AFTER I eat it - will I be happy I had it or will I feel bad because I didn't follow through on my plan.
Finances - ALWAYS pay your credit card bill IN FULL at the end of each month. Think about the interest you will pay as throwing money in the trash. REALLY - if you are carrying a balance look at the interest on this month's bill. Imagine yourself taking that amount of cash and throwing it in the trash and lighting a match to it. That's what you are doing if you are paying interest on credit cards. Make a plan NOW to pay off credit card debt.
Seriously, it had to be my sister. She came to town 50 pounds lighter. She talked with me about her eating changes. I was in tears. I was motivated and happy for her, so disgusted with me. But, it started me on my weight loss journey and here I am today!!!
