Wow, it's simply amazing what we've asked our bodies to handle (food) on a daily basis. Add that favorite breakfast up for five days and that equals 4,300 calories. Omigosh! It takes 3,500 to make a pound!
We all have foods we enjoy. Just because we are changing our lifestyle does not mean we have to give these foods up entirely. Of course there is moderation, but we can also make different choices to fit our healthy eating. There are so many things in the market to help us choose wisely. So tell us what your favorite what your favorite breakfast is, then make different choices to make it healthier. Compare the calorie and fat count for each meal. I am sure we will be surprised with the results.
I will start. My favorite breakfast is scrambled eggs (2 =180 calories, 14g fat), bacon (3 slices=103 calories, 8g fat), cheesy buttered grits (316 calories, 13.5g fat), and two buttermilk biscuits (276 calories, 17g fat) now my mouth is watering. This breakfast is a grand total of 875 calories and 52.5g fat. WOW, my mouth is no longer watering but hanging wide open. Now I will make some simple substitutions and letís see the difference, eggbeaters (1/2 cup=60 calories, 0 fat), turkey bacon (2 slices=50 calories, 3g fat), grits w/light butter (165 calories, 3 g fat), and whole-wheat light toast w/light butter (2=105 calories, 3g fat). My substitute breakfast is 380 calories and 9g of fat. I saved 495 calories and 43.5g of fat. This is essentially the same breakfast, I am not missing out on anything and my body will thank me.
