Costa Rica, Central America: lower body lift ($9500); breast lift/implants ($3200); arm lift/lipo($2600); backlift ($2600); facelift ($3000); medial thigh lift ($2600); knee lipo($500); waist lipo ($1000), eyelid lift ($1900); brow lift ($1800); chemical peel ($600); lip augmentation (Meta Crill $500) nose job ($2800), 2 blood transfusions, 1 each operation ($1000 total); recovery center $95 night for all services (Che Tica Ranch, Costa Rica) x one month ($2600); flight $620; extra compression garments $460; medications were included; follow-ups were included...total around $33K for surgeries, $2600 accommodations, $620 flight.
I cashed in RRSP of $20K, after taxes $14K; ran up credit card $9000; borrowed $10K against inheritance coming soon; parents chipped in $3700. (btw: doctor was rashi rosenstock)
I took 7 weeks off work preplanned medical leave and extra 2 weeks on top of that are vacation...total of 9 weeks off which is awesome. I would advise as much time off as you're able to swing. For just one surgery procedure, 2 weeks post is absolute minimum.

I had a lower body lift, and a large part of it was covered by my insurance. I contacted my insurance company and asked what the requirements were, and it turned out that I met all three: 1) Have had to have lost 100+ pounds, 2) Had to have kept it off for at least 6 months, and 3) Had to have skin rashes caused by the excess skin.

The insurance covered panniculectomy (the removal of the flap of skin on my abdomen), but I had to pay for the cost to extend the surgery to my back as well as muscle repair on my abdomen. Overall, it was a $20,000 ish dollar surgery, but I was responsible for a little over $4000.

I had a tummy tuck, liposuction of the flanks, breast augmentation and lift which totaled $17,200. $10,500 of the money has been paid with Care Credit. This company offers 18 months at 0% interest. The remaining has been paid with a 401-K loan. The only fees are an annual admin fee of $12, $30 processing fee and 5.75% interest which is paid back to me. The real loss is if the market turns around, I could lose on big gains hence the interest paid back to me.

My breast reduction was covered by insurance (I was still a 42J after losing 100 pounds...better than a 46 M, but still gigantic!) My abdominoplasty was $9500.
I got a cost estimate for an inner thigh/batwings procedure of $13,000, but that's on the back burner until I pay off some house remodeling costs and re-lose about 20 pounds.

Sure, here are the costs for my procedures:

Lower Body Lift: $15,500 time off of work was 3 weeks. Could not do much of anyhting the first week so I stayed with family. The second and third week I could walk around but not drive so I had help from friends and family.

Gynecomastia and Mastopexy (I had large deposits of fat in the chest area): $9,000 and time off of work was 2 weeks. Couldn't drive the first few days but could walk around; had help around the house from friends and family.

I am addicted to diet soda. I know my bones will dissolve; that's why god gave me big ones.

Does anyone mind saying how much their various procedures cost? Just to give an idea of the numbers we're talking about?

And how long were folks out of commission, unable to go to work, etc.?

Never, ever, EVER give up!

From BMI 53 (336 lbs) to under 30. Now aiming for less than 20% body fat.

I ended up talking to a lot of Plastic Surgeons before deciding on a final surgeon to go with and yes they do have medical loan companies they go with but they all said that it would be better to get a loan from your bank or Credit Union as their rates will be a lot lower than the medical loan companies (who basically go though big banks and then add their own bit of profit to the loan). As for medical insurance, the only real time they will cover any kind pf plastic surgery is if the excess skin causes a lot of rashes or breakouts when the skin is touching other skin. Sadly, in the end it is really up to the person to come up with the funds for the procedure.

Plastic surgery costs a bunch...does anyone have ways they've come up with to pay for it? I know some plastic surgeons work with some kind of medical loan company. Does insurance ever pay for post weight loss plastic surgery (other than breast reductions)?
