I am trying to do the Petite Advantage diet, Only on day 2 and have messed up twice but at least when I mess up my total is only 1200 calories for the day. We'll see what happens.

I'm making GREAT progress! I've been fully on plan for about 4 weeks now. During that time I lost 13 pounds!!! I'm on my way. I struggled for a couple of months losing a couple pounds and gaining back. What has really helped is getting off the sugar!

GOOAAALLLL! Astounded that I met my second weight loss goal today - first 115# and now 110# - set my third and final goal for 105#. I'm having fun "shopping" in my closet for all those items too small to wear, and looking forward to buying new clothes that celebrate my weight loss. My journey has not been without challenge - mostly mind games played with myself & pity parties for not allowing myself to consume thoughtlessly and recklessly. Last night dreamt about making blueberry pancakes for a family who didn't have any food in the house. Reminding myself of those who have no choice in going without food has humbled me and made me grateful that I have the resources to indulge in unneeded calories. Keep the faith - you can do it!

I've just been maintaining as well since the first of the year. I admit I haven't made exercise a priority at all and though I try to keep my calories in range, I'm not making the wisest choices, which doesn't help my energy levels at all. I'm hoping that now that the weather is starting to warm up, I can get back to taking my long walks at the very least. Been working on decluttering, as I'm hoping that a more peaceful environment will help cut down on the stress and emotional eating. But all that sorting doesn't burn very many calories, and is very time consuming, unfortunately.

I have not been losing at all. Between lots of stress and being sick I am thankful that I have maintained. This last week I was able to exercise every day! Hoping to get my eating under control again( I am a major stress eater and love sweets)

Surprised to be losing weight more rapidly than I anticipated, given my short stature and lack of meaningful exercise. I've been faithfully tracking my food & not exceeding the upper limits of my calorie range. Revised my weight loss goal because I'm so close to meeting goal #2. Yippee! I'm looking forward to "shopping" my closet for the smaller sized summer garb.

I have been losing about a 1/2 pound per week since initiating weight loss sometime in January. I hope to increase it to a pound per week, but haven't been willing to cut many or count many calories! Just eating tons of fruits and veggies each day & other healthy foods.

Sometimes it just takes a few new members to motivate others to participate more. There used to be only a couple of us posting regularly on this particular thread, but lately we've been having more join in, which is great. I haven't read that book, but others on this group have, and they do discuss it on another thread. Thanks for joining. We try to help each other out if we can.
I just joined here on Sunday. I was hoping it would be more active here with over 1,000 members. Too bad. I found that book "The Petite Advantage Diet" at the Library. Going to get it tonight.

Good to hear that everyone is doing so well. It will be awhile before I have the problem of trying to find clothes in small sizes. But do find that no matter what size you are, there are still very limited choices when it comes to clothes made for petite women, especially dresses. Regular sizes just don't hang right, and I prefer to be able to try them on first instead of ordering online and having to return them if they don't fit right.

I found out that Kohl's has smaller sizes pants, I don't know about the seams size because I tried one yet but I will and I'll keep youpost it.

Hello MadameJeanne ...I am 4"11 but I say everywhere that I am 5'0 I love to be that inch tall!!!!!
Make few changes like for example watch the carbs intake during dinner, the snacking in between meals, water intake.
And last but not least get well pretty soon.

How tall are you Chica? I am 5'1" so my goal is 113. I am stuck. I have been injured(mild concussion) sick with bronchitis,and sinusitis, and stressed. Today I was able to walk to the library and probably will walk to my gym later today- Maybe in March I will lose 5 lbs. Since I am heading toward 60 and short I am trying to be realistic about weight loss possibilities. I keep giving in to sweets and stuffing my stress.

I've changed up a few things over the past week...adding in more protein, fiber, and eating healthier. I've incorporated more strength training to my regular exercise as well. (After reading the Petite Advantage Diet) I've also been calorie cycling (two days at 1100 and one day at 1600). This really seems to be working for me! I've lost 3 lbs in two weeks!

Nope. Just staying away from it completely. They were just extra empty calories that I didn't need to be eating and weren't helping me stay within my food goals (keeping within the goals for fat is hard enough without adding chocolate to that mix). First 2 days weren't bad, but next few were really a struggle. I know if I can just stick with it for a few weeks, it will get much easier. Today is day 7 and it hasn't been as difficult.

A year in review, I have loss 3.4 lbs since Jan 1, 2013. 5.2lbs since Jan 1, 2012 and 7.2lbs since Jan 31, 2012. Since Jan (2011) 28.6lbs.
Can't wait for those days of the month to finally show up.....I have a trip to take ...SOON....to celebrate Party #1 of 3 for my 25th anniversary HS reunion.

problem was eating chocolate (I'm caffeine sensitive) and not taking my vitamin E like I should have. Not much to do now but drink lots of water to help clear my system and vow to do better next month.

Breath girl! Try to avoid sodium during these days to see if it helps a little. Watch your carbs intake in the evening and don't eat fruits after 2pm.

Not making progress here. Had to move the scale to a different location because we put carpeting in the office. Not a real expensive scale, and it can read differently in different locations. Doesn't seem to work on carpet, and I didn't check first to compare what it weighed at the old and new locations beforehand, so I don't know how much I am up (I do think I gained over the holidays, just don't know how much). So now I am starting out fresh, using the beginning weight on the scale at the new location as my beginning weight for the year, and going from there. Expecting a visit from Aunt Flo soon, so that isn't helping either.

I know what you mean about the carbs. That is my weakness also. Been very dilligent about eating 5 fruits/veggies a day and drinking 8 of water and now down another two pounds this morning.

I tried to maintain over the holidays but I ended up gaining 3 lbs. I am happy to say yesterday morning was back to pre-holiday weight. Going on vacation in March so trying to lose a few more and get toned up.

During the time my husband was laid off- he starts work next Tuesday I gained the weight back I had lost so I am right back where I started. I also gave into temptation of Christmas cookies and ate out of stress. I am getting back on track. I fell Jan 1 while ice skating so my exercise has been limited. Next week I should be able to do a lot more.

Happy New Years to everyone. Spending the rest of this year trying to reevaluate my fitness/nutrition plan. Trying to figure out what changes I need to make to continue to make progress towards my goals. Still on the fence about joining the gym again. On the plus side, I enjoy the regular classes and the weights that I don't have at home, which help me to exercise consistently. On the other hand, I do have several videos and some equipment, and can always get some heavier weights - if I would only actually USE them instead of just OWNING them! I loved doing the kickboxing and step aerobics classes, and didn't miss a session unless I was sick or injured. It seems too easy to get sidetracked when at home - phone, errands, chores, decluttering, etc, that I haven't seemed to schedule exercise. Might be worth it to join, even though I can do most of that at home, just because I DO exercise more consistently that way (now that the weather isn't nice anymore - and neighbors often don't shovel their sidewalks, making walking dangerous in places - I don't go for long walks anymore).

I'm on maintenance and I hope to keep it this way after the 31st; I have two more parties to attend.
Yesterday after dinner I squeezed 2 walking miles. Can't lose the routine. Tomorrow back to work, yikes! at least the office will be empty 'til the 1st.

You can get back on track! I know you can!
I THINK all my shopping is done ( I hope so. The traffic was insane in places today. I'd rather not go out again if I don't have to). Just trying to maintain until the hectic holidays are over, then plan on getting back on track with exercise as well as eating healthier than I have been lately.
Thinking of rejoining the gym too. I miss using the weights and some of the classes, and walking in winter isn't so easy when we get snow, because half the people don't want to shovel their sidewalks, which makes it dangerous, so I don't go as far.
