Well, I haven't been in class (cardio-kick) since last Friday. Monday was closed due to the MLK holiday, then it snowed Tuesday and they followed the county school rules, when it is announced closed they are closed too, meaning no class either yesterday, last chance is tomorrow Friday and Saturday and I am looking forward to it.

MY DS said yes to officially enroll to the training for 6 months for now. YAY! for him, our shoes and gloves are on the way.

Take one day at the time, the same happens to me, and I keep procastinating things, but when it has to be done, whatever is important for the day must wait until I am done with I was putting on hold.

Good to hear you are keeping up with the classes. I hope you are really enjoying them.

I am still going a little slow with getting back into the full swing of things. I have so much to do, which stresses me out and then I just lay down instead of doing anything in order to calm down. Hopefully things will finally get done and I can calm down.

Well I haven't stop, today is Friday and taking another cardio kick class!!!! by the end of the first week of February will be enrolling for a monthly unlimited classes which I still plan to take only M-W-F.

Well today is day #1 of 14. DS and I went for our kickboxing class of the year. It was more for him to keep him motivated, he handled most of the workouts and as for me not doing so bad either just need a little bit more of practice in the breathing section.

Going back for more Wed and Fri eve and Sat mornings.

Hi. I just joined this unique team. Growing up I did not consider myself petite. When I started buying my own clothes I never thought it was odd that I always had to alter my clothes before they fit just right. years later, I mentioned my delimma to a co-worker who later became my best friend; she said, "you are short, you should buy petite clothes because you are petite." I did not agree with her, in my minds eye I was not short, and I walked tall. Who knew I was short, for sure not me. But I did follow her advice. So happy I did.

Hi, I just joined the team.

I joined sparkpeople this October. My goals have currently not panned out. I have been meeting all the small goals (except for this past week) that were to lead to the big goal. They have not been working and I kind of gave up last Wednesday. I am starting over again.

I have done analysis and I am trying again with a few changes.

For the end of 2013, and possible part of 2014, I am going to try to figure out my fat burning calorie range. Eating too little puts your body into a type of fat storing mode, eating too much does the same. I am trying to find that middle zone.

I will be exercising. I have changed up my workouts a bit, but I am going to focus on figuring out the best calories for me. In 2014, I am going to focus on my workouts or focus on my sleep.
I have been watching when I go to sleep, when I get up, how rested I feel and more. I am trying to make sure I do not focus on too much at once. I was adding something to track every week. I think I need to focus on one thing for a few weeks before adding more goals to track and watch.

My 2013 goals didn't pan out. I am such a perfectionist and minor slip-ups lead me to major melt-downs. My main goal for 2014 is going to be to take it a lot slower. I will pick one goal a month to really focus on...January I will walk or jog every day for at least 20 minutes.

I'm back on SP after a 2-year hiatus. Took me 5 days to get my daily calories under 1550 - and that's the high end. I should be grateful - some of you are at 900-1200 kcals - brutal!Evening snacking is my downfall - even healthy snacks can put me over my limit. My next step is to add more physical activity to gain more caloric leeway.

I tried on lots of clothes at a Christopher & Banks store. I still have a large bust so need an xl. There petite xl fit me perfectly in the shoulders, neck, and arms, but was not to tight in the bust or tummy! This is the first time I have had sleeves fit since being a size 6. I am still working on the size 6 but it was such an encouragement to have something fit! It looks soooo much better. emoticon

Me not into the cooking challenge, I pass that.

I did a lot better yesterday, had tons of water, and even thou didn't do an actual exercise beside going up and down the stairs and vacuum real good, scrub and clean the carpet, clean the kitchen, do some laundry. Today is me day, going to a winery.

I find I do better if I have a challenge to participate in, since I really need to kick things up a notch. Exercise, eating enough veggies, Losing a pound a week (or staying within 5 pounds of your goal if you are on maintenance), staying in range for fats, especially the lower end if possible, instead of always being on the high end or over? Maybe trying a new recipe, like one of the spark recipes, and letting the group know what you tried and how you liked it?

Anyone else want to participate in some type of challenge here?

Good morning all, How is everyone getting on? I am still at a stand still just due to the fact I am still adjusting to medications, I hate that it takes weeks to get past all the side effects. I am LOVING the fall like weather here in Amarillo, at least what they consider fall. I just moved here from WI and there falls are totally different.

Hi DREAMFAIRY1, I've been working out for around 7 years, so I speak from experience and knowledge.

"Spot toning" is a myth. The only way to improve your body shape is to exercise all of it.

My recommendation is to get yourself the guidance of a good trainer, follow a weight-training routine, and eat plenty of low-fat protein in addition to vegetables, whole grains, and olive oil for fat.

If you do this, you might lose a little fat, but mostly you will add muscle. You will weigh a little more, but have a nice form to your body, including definition. You will be stronger. Most important, you will prevent osteoporosis and other long-term health risks.

can anybody help pls... im so confused... :(
Basically I dont want to lose weight (Im 5' 0, 110 lbs, but I carry my weight well, and I have always weighed much more than I look), but I want to be more toned (I have all these regions sticking out a bit- upper arms, thighs and lower belly), lose some fat and build some muscle.
So, do I have to eat less than maintenance (if so I'd lose weight, right?) or do I have to eat maintenance calories and do some toning exercises?

I appreciate your concern, but the administrator, CHICA_BORICUA (below) has viewed my website a few times and has also asked me questions about it specifically. Hello everyone!

Smalls - sorry for the delay answering your question, in my opinion I believe it is easy to check the sizes available at the time adding to the cart, so yes. Pretty clothes though!

Me here getting back on track after a mini vacation to my home, in 5 days gained 5 pounds, I guess a pound a day with no exercise but I did pretty good, and ready to go back in July. Of the 5 pounds 2 are gone!!!! The only thing I miss the most is the sleeping.....so DH and I decided to skip work tomorrow and get some good deserve sleep.

I did a kickboxing class last month. It was so much fun! the kickboxing was excellent. He made us jump rope as a warm-up and it kicked my butt!!

Trish P - I am 4'11" and I eat 1500 calories a day. I started at 1200 over a year ago, and once I really started exercising, I needed to increases my intake. I like 1500 calories. On the days that I spin, I tend to go over because I have a Promax (protein) bar that is 300 calories by itself, but has 20 grams of protein, so it'll hold me until after class and a shower.

So, I took the reins back on my weight loss, for my post menopausel self. I just needed to work harder at the gym; harder than I thought I already was. 2-3 hours 6 days a week. I accept my age, I accept the skin that refuses to fold into my muscles. I feel great. I look better. I never say I can't anymore. I have lost the weight I need to lose. I have muscle definition that I have longed for. I am a work in progress; as we all are. I have thrown hiking and boogy boarding in the mix too. The next part of my life will be an adventure, if I have anything to say about it...and I do! I am trying, again in progress, to stay at or about 500 cals per meal 3 x a day. I tend to be a little lax with myself, but I am really trying to stay within the recommended dietary guidelines

Is anyone here? I was hoping to network with others that are small framed and don't need the recommended 1200 calories. I am lucky if I eat between 800-1000 if I eat correctly. Only on junk food can I get to 1200.
