Thank you so much Beth. I'll pop on and post that afternoon/evening to let you all know how it went. I'm getting very excited because so many things are happening quickly now. All that is except the weight loss. I need to be appreciative of the fact that I'm still losing weight. Just not as quickly. Once I can walk again it will fly off. Patience is what I need. lol
What I've done is to change my eating to 95-98% Vegan. I personally love it myself. Some people don't like it. I used the Thrive Diet from Brendan Braizer. His site is
At the bottom there is a box that says "Thrive Forward". He teaches you for free how to switch over slowly and what combos as well as what nutrients to watch for. Sparkpeople has all the nutrients that you need to watch. I added them to my food log to make sure I was getting enough.
BTW the ads for Vega One would get you there as well. That is what I use. I do two of the shakes and one snack, one healthy meal and a dessert. All of it Vegan of course. I love it because the shakes really fill you up and having two of them gives you 100% of the nutrition you need in a day for the vitamins, minerals, protein, fat, carbs, etc...
I do have meats once in a while. About 2-3 times a month. I rotate between a bit of chicken, fish and meat. Not to much of any of them. Mostly like condiments. That way I won't lose the ability to digest them.
That's how I've gotten off my BP meds.

Glad you are getting it done. I had knee replacement on June 11, but had to stay in the hospital one extra day because my BP meds was lowering my potassium level. Change in medicine and diet has brought up the potassium level. Also, I am walking without a walker or cane right now.

Well I have a date. 7/2 at 1:30. It's just a quick scope procedure so it's out patient. I'll be home for dinner. lol Thank goodness. Then I'll be able to walk again and lose the weight faster.
I seem to have lost enough weight that my body has decided it doesn't need the blood pressure meds any more! I am so amazed. I even stopped the one pain med that I know lowers the BP and went back on the other one that doesn't.
I am now off both BP meds per doctors orders and I'm feeling so much better! I really didn't like feeling like I was going to pass out. Not fun. I'm almost back up to 120/80. I had to add some salt back into my diet as well. Amazing to me. I've not gone wild though. Just one time a day and only a little bit.
