I read an interesting in a fitness magazine the other day .......... in which the author wrote: Make a 10 Minute NY resolution ................ huh?? .............. Well she went on to say if we take "Ten minutes each day and really get into it ............. whole hog ............... consistently ........... (and of course 10 min. will always lead to or can ....... 15-20 and before you know it good habits are forming) .................. Also, isn't that what the Ten Min Official workout streak is about too?? ..............

Me too! Good thinking....I have a monthly calendar in my day planner, but weekly goals...and monthly.
I am off to a good start and am praising God for every little victory.

I wrote a blog on New Years Day .......... "Politicians, Pledges, and Resolutions ...........
Come read if ya get a minute ..... (not trying to plug myself, really) ... emoticon

BUT I also have an idea that I think most peeps are ok with ......... wanna hear? .......
Ok ........... I'm visualizing you just said, "Yes" .......... emoticon
Soooooooo then, I got a large desk calendar I placed on a table .........
Starting with New Years ...... emoticon I recorded my initial weight for Jan 1
AND wrote in red sharpie ........ my ST minutes and in black my cardio XX minutes ........
Each day I make an entry .......... BUT the thing is: I take it a week at a time ........... By taking only 1 week at a time .......... and by working to lose 1# a week, I have made myself accountable to a team ............. (since I decided to do this, I can't face reporting: "I lost NOTHING ........... PLUS I know I can do it a week at a time and one month at a time
RATHER than looking at the whole year ............. That is just too much for my emoticon (pea, I think) ..... brain! do any of you like this idea? ............... (the visual really helps) .............. 2B/ aka: 2Twobie

I resolve to:
- Learn more about my faith and practice it daily instead of just going to church weekly
- Eat healthier (in calorie range), be more active (at least 4x/week), and drink more water daily (work towards 8 glasses/day minumum)
- Become more organized, declutter the house
- Pay off as much debt as possible

I like the resolutions. I usually don't make resolutions because I never kept them.

I will be less sedentary. I didn't know how sedentary I was until I purchased a fit bit ultra.

I will climb at least 6 floors a day to start. I started with 4.

I will go to the aquatic or fitness center at least 2x a week during the winter.

I resolved years ago not to make anymore resolutions and that is the only one that I have been able to keep. I do have a goal off getting healthy. I have lost only 30 pounds that have stayed off, but look at that as 6 - 5# bags of sugar that I am no longer carrying around.

I'm loving reading YOUR resolutions. I've actually been mulling this over in my mind in the last couple of days. We moved to our 'retirement' home 4 years ago - its on a lake and in a rural setting, away from the busy city where we'd lived for almost 20 years. Our home here is smaller than the previous one so we've had to downsize quite a bit (especially in terms of storage space.)

Since moving here I've been trying to get COMPLETELY organized - a place for everything so everything can stay in its place. But I've really focused on losing weight and exercising - because quite frankly I'd MUCH rather be out walking, listening to an audiobook.

So my biggest resolution this year to to achieve balance - to make time to GET organized and keep my home clean and organized so if a neighbor stops by I won't feel the need to make excuses about the clutter in my home. This will actually mean walking less - because after walking 10 to 15 miles (yes, that's what I've been doing!) its too easy to use the excuse of being tired to avoid organizing.

And I guess that is resolution #2 - no more excuses!!

I have an annoying and VERY bad habit of going somewhere and then when we get there I grab a chair and sit while I am there. With my back issues I do need to sit when the spasms start in my lower back but lately I am sitting BEFORE the spasms begin. emoticon

1st Resolution:
To give myself a break and take this journey 1 day at a time..... emoticon

2nd Resolution:
Stand up for as long as possible before I have to sit, then get back up as soon as the spasms ease up...... emoticon

I like all of your resolutions and I seem to be affraid to make any of my own. I'm not real good at sticking to resolutions. So let me see..... I think this year my resolution should be to take 1 day at a time and do the best I can without beating myself up for each and every miss step.
