My FBS was 241 this morning and the same as it was last night after dinner at 8:45...I am SO thankful. The weight is down a bit more as well and that's a blessing. I haven't seen 202.6 in probably a year.
I'll get back to work now. I have a lot of it today and am thankful for that too. Be blessed all.... Bren

Choffy! Ground cacoa beans steeped in hot water. Makes the most wonderful chocolate beverage. Hot and yummy. Relaxing, calming, soothing ... and 20 calories. Good-bye sweet tooth.
I love eating an apple with peanut butter on it. If it is a snack that is all I have, it is is lunch I have another fruit and 1/2 cup of non fat cottage cheese. I will usually have a light snack a couple hours later, a greek yogurt or 25 grapes.

Thanks Beth! I like that and tho I have mine set at around 1.5, I will do just that...reassess on the 1st of February...and each month thereafter...and tweak where needed. It's the quitting and stalling and back sliding that has kept me in trouble all these years! I have hope for positive changes and recovery this year!...for us all!
My blood sugar is really wonky right now and I have to get it down, pronto. I'll look at some info, adjust my PM meals etc, drink more water and exercise on purpose...and will be monitoring it closely. And...praying a LOT! Bren

Beth, I love all your ideas...my goal for the past has been two pounds/wk. and I was staying consistent with that weight loss...then weight loss stopped and now I think it is time to reaccess. So even though the smaller weight loss goals like 1/2 lb don't seem like much till you look at it in terms of a full yr. Thanks...that really helps get the stress and pressure off. ....thats why we all need each other...for others insightfulness. I have learned a lot from our team.
One thing I do to keep on track is to eat an apple with natural crunchy peanut butter at least once a day, sometime when having a hungry day I'll have 2 at different times or add more pb. It has helped me avoid junk food.

Where COULD you be in 2014 if you would lose a meager 1/2 (which most of us think is not enough) pound a week? 26 Pounds thinner! Where could you be in 2014 if you lose 1 pound a week? (another number most of us consider not enough) 52 Pounds thinner! 1.5 pounds a week? 78 Pounds thinner!
I personally lose at a rate of 1/2 to 1 pound a week. I've also lost at 1.5... Whenever I have shot for 2, I fall on my face, it is too lofty a goal for me. The trick is to know your limits. If you fail at trying to lose 2 pounds a week, try 1.5. Try 1. Try 1/2. Try until you get the formula that allows you to eat to fit your lifestyle. DO NOT try to adapt your lifestyle to the eating plan, try to adapt the eating plan to your lifestyle. It will give you a fresh perspective on real change.

I'll be doing that tomorrow....and ON budget! I took my credit cards away from myself so I won't be tempted to go over what I "need"...I'll be getting more soup stuff as well, and have a list of things to cook and freeze for my off days.

I make fritattas every week, portion them out and have a fast go to breakfast.
Also prepare a large amount of steel cut oats weekly. Yes... Portion out and now I have another choice for an instant breakfast.
The bonus? Time and money.

I buy the packaged salad mix, and a bag of baby spinach to up the nutrition. I love the little grape tomatoes, sliced olives, red onion and peppers. For protein, I might have a boiled egg or some tuna. Salads are my go to lunch for summer!

I have a friend on another team who juices...and I cringed at the thought of "green" juice...I do like to eat my produce and without the benefit of a garden, I just don't think I could whir up a bunch of kale! She has a beautiful, bountiful garden and has made good use of it.
I do need to work on getting a couple of fruit in each day...I'll do a kitchen inventory, to see what I have, what I need and what to pass along to my brother!

I have gotten best advice from this group!!! Adding freggies works!! At the end of the day I don't feel deprived because I have been focusing on adding MORE fruits and veggies not on what I shouldn't eat! Before I know it I am going to bed and have eaten healthy all day! Yay!! Thank you Team Indygirl!!!!
Another tip I got was to add baby spinach to my smoothies, I was VERY nervous about this! Then I tasted it and it taste exactly the same as it did before the spinach!! Can't believe it!! I added nearly 2 cups!! Try it! Just don't look at it before you take your first sip

I live alone...so when I have a cooking spree, I'll have 4-5 pots of things going at once. I freeze my goodies in one cup, rectangular containers that I stack 36 at a time in my freezer. I am down to one cup of collards and two of turkey chili from my last spree...so will be doing a new one on Tuesday. I plan to cook more turkey chili, black eyed peas, pinto beans, lentil soup, northern beans and pasta sauce w/turkey. With a well stocked freezer a "fast" meal is 6-7 minutes in the microwave!

I LOVE greens...and veggies. I admit I am a tad lazy when it comes to hacking, dicing, chopping and slicing tho. So I buy baby carrots, and add to a snack bag with celery, cut up. I use a whole bag of wonderful kale, in my kale and bean soup. I cook collards fairly often...I buy the greens in the bag, already washed, cut and ready to use. More expensive of course but my lazy gene usually opts for this as opposed to the WORK involved in prepping! I cut up broccoli crowns for my bento boxes...One container has 2-3 snacks in it.

ADD to your food plan and don't take away.
ADD veggies, fruits, water, lean protein, whole grains, fiber, and low fat dairy or substitute.
There will be less room for junk in your tummy.

I discovered how to make sweet potato snacks. Just cut them into tiny pieces and pop them in the oven on top of a cookie type baking pan sprayed with non-stick cooking spray. It helps to keep me from eating something less desirable. Practically any fruit and veggie is a good thing to have if you absolutely have to binge.

The best one I can think of is to just keep the junk and treats out of the house. This is such a hard time of the year when people bring you treats. They just have to share the love.

My problem is; I know all this. I was to become a WW leader after reaching goal. My DD1 was in a horrific accident not long after reaching my goal. Her companion was killed and she left paraplgic. I have stress-induced asthma; fibro., CFS, so, there is my down-fall! If only I could stay focus. MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Good tips....I have goals that these fit into for the year ahead...as in buying trash foods that harm me and don't satisfy my spirit...AND body....smaller plates etc.Things I know...and plan to DO. Knowing doesn't bring desired results!

Instead of mindless eating or getting into treats, go brush your teeth you are less likely to indulge. Keep the portion sizes small and you won't feel so guilty finishing your plate.

when you feel hungry dirink a glass of water first before eating, sometimes thirst is mistaken for hunger.also the water will help to fill you up so you might eat less than overwise.

Resisting munchies for me... I know that false hunger or emotional eating is a physical soother, so I need a physical soother to replace it. So, I ask myself what am I trying to achieve with food? Usually I want to feel warm and safe and relaxed. I bought a fluffy warm blanket, candles, and am collecting dvds that I love. These things are great for a night of staying in my room and babying myself. I've been known to get a fruit tray or veggie tray for such an event or even share the event with a friend or hubby.
