Hello! I am new to this sparkteam and thought I'd reach out and introduce myself. I am the mother of a senior in high school who is currently a poolee and will go to Boot Camp on June 13. He is joining the USMC Reserves because he wants to get his education first. He will go to Boot Camp, Training and then his school for 14-16 weeks followed by what we hope will be a 90-day reserve temporary active duty. Then he'll enter his freshman year in college the fall of 2012, and eventually will enlist as active after he graduates from college (mechanical engineering). He eventually wants to have a company of his own that designs safer, better equipment to protect our troops. This is his dream, and as his mother, I am here to support him. I shared all of this because the one thing that I am most challenged with is my eating over stress and anxiety. I figured if there was a sparkteam that understood how to overcome that challenge, it would be yours. I am here to support you and look forward to the blogs and activity on this team. I like the distance goal! I think I am in the same weight lose boat as the both of you! I have been walking/running on my incline trainer and trying to find different things to switch it up. One of my goals this year is to run a 5K, so I love the distance goal. Right now I am aiming for 10 miles a week. So far so good!
That is an awesome goal! Thanks for your response! It looks like we have a similar amount of weight we're trying to lose! My first goal of the year is to really jumpstart being active by a little 90 challenge I gave myself involving using some of the workout DVDs I already own (and never use!) I posted the outline to my SparkPage today just to keep myself honest! lol
I like "New Year,New You" I am starting back on my diet today as last night was BIG! I think that if we had some motivational challenges for the year that would get this team rockin' and I think that a goal challenge would be good-have each team member set a distance goal to meet by the end of 2011 mine is to walk/run 500 miles by the end of the year;let's hear from other Navy and Marine Corps wives on their goals.

I've been fairly inactive on this board since I became team leader. I'll repost my initial welcome message at the end of this post. I inherited this SparkTeam as it was fizzling out and it just never seemed to pick back up. Well, I'm back for the new year and hoping that there is still some life left in this team!
I would love for this to be a great place to come to for support. So, if you have some ideas on how to make this group shine, I'd love to get started and get this group motivated! :)
Here is the original message from many moons ago: We currently have 4 forums on our team. The first two are defaults and will remain the same. The second two, Healthy You and New Year New You are ours to make what we want!
We can leave these forums the way they are, change them, make new ones, etc. Most likely some exciting changes are around the corner and we'd love your input! Are there any specific forums you would like to see? Are you a part of a forum on another team and think, "I wish we had that on NMCW team?" Well, now's your chance! Let me know!
There will most likely be a forum for deals, freebies, etc since I see a lot of those posts in the team history and would like to clean up the posts and get those in a centralized location for those who are interested in that sort of thing.
