I think it is great you are looking for alternatives that work for you. I LOVE the workouts on here but some of the moves that Coach Nicole has are still beyond my capacity. I am getting there though. I figure even if I do as much as I can, I am getting further than I was. I have issues with my knees and I push as far as I can but stop just short of pain.
I love that I can get a good workout even in 10 minutes if I have time limitations.

Glad you did clarify.... and maybe you should check them out again as several of us have said there are many videos that don't require any equipment at all. Good luck on your journey.... we all know emoticon

Oh crap, I didn't mean to say they weren't good, I meant not because I don't think they're good. I'm sorry for that. Thanks for all the responses though. Really sorry for that misunderstanding. I have my stupid moments. I've used the videos before when I had equipment and it worked. I'm just dumb and didn't use my not not's... Really sorry, didn't mean to offend!

The videos here are emoticon I am in the worst financial shape possible as my husband is disabled and has ZERO income and right now I only work 4 hours a week..... there are many videos on here that require ZERO equipment and that is why I choose to use them as again I have ZERO money ...
However, as others said any exercise is good if you are doing both the cardio and strength, but not having the equipment for these videos is unfair because you don't need any for all of them and saying they are not good, that is just not a fair statement at all because many including myself have seen results... me in only 2 weeks.

Sarah,

Although quite a few videos do use equipment, I often skip the extra equipment and still get a good workout. However, I have joint problems and fibromyalgia and can only do Nicole's videos occasionally. Most of the time, I use my Striiv (a pedometer on amphetamines) to keep me motivated.

Ultimately, there's nothing magical about the SparkPeople videos. (Though I really like them.) You should use what *you* like because that's what will keep you motivated.

Hugs,

Valerie

The videos I use from Spark are fabulous. There are many that you don't need any equipment for. The videos show adaptive ways of doing them if you have any physical liitations. I find them very motivating. You might want to check them out further, just by playing it and watching the video to see if it is something you would like. Good Luck.

A LOT of the videos require nothing, except maybe a set of dumbbells , if you don't have any, go to your cupboard and grab 2 cans, and use those as weights, don't have cans? fill 2 water bottles full and use those! Don't have a jump rope? Use an imaginary one, pretend you're holding a rope and jump, Don't have medicine ball use a regular ball, lots of ways to substitute in the videos. There's lots to choose from for video options for Sparkpeople. www.sparkpeople.com/resource/

Its really the getting up and getting moving that counts anyways.

Get creative! Good luck

I think any exercise is fine, so long as you are doing Cardio and strength. You can probably find plenty of each on the web.

I don't use them because I DON'T (haha) think they're good, or because I'm lazy (although, I really am) I just don't have the equipment or the funds to purchase what I need to do those videos, so I substitute them for Pop Pilates videos on YouTube that require only your own body weight for 10 minutes. This should be fine, right?
