Had a cold so couldn't workout a few days. That is the 3rd cold of the summer!! Has not been a good summer for me.
Anyways, I am in the last section (days 60-90) of the calendar and just finished Legs day 70. So I only have 20 more days to go!!
Kind of happy I only have one more legs because that one is tough!! My favorite so far is the chest/back ones.

I'm 5 days away from day 60!!
Figure by next week I will be there, 2/3 through the calendar.
I can't see much difference though. :/ I haven't eaten perfectly but I have been watching more what I eat.
Oh and I got the Kmart version of a Bosu ball...its plastic (are the real ones plastic?) I figure I can add that to push-ups (I do knee push-ups) so that will make things more challenging.

Well after taking a hiatus from this for about 2 years I am back to it. I was seeing great results half way through the first time, but I injured my knee that I had just had surgery one and never restarted. Now that I have gained back a little weight I am determined to make it through this time. No time like the present right?! Chest and Back done! I think this is the easiest DVD

Those who can, DO!

O I so dislike those leg workouts. My least favorite workout. I swear I was sweating puddles tuesday night when I did that one.
I just need to do Back and Bis today and I can cross day 45 off my calendar and be halfway through!!
I don't think I will take pics cause I don't think I have changed any...maybe by day 90 I will see.
But it is summer and more temptations than usual with the food...

You are doing well, DAGNY99. I am still struggling to be consistent. I did cardio challenge today. The goal is to workout each day this week 9with the exception of friday and saturday--I'll be traveling to NYC where there is NO ROOM to do those workouts, b ut I will try to fit something in)

How is everyone doing?
I like to put a star on the calendar near each workout once I complete it and I finished with day 31. I guess it isn't even halfway through the 90 days but I figure its a mini goal. I figure each 30 days is like a mini goal?
I've been bad with eating though. I've been eating the Zuchini bread my mom made. And yesterday and today I've been so hungry. I want to each like every 2 hours...but it is hunger not just boredom or something else. My dad figures that if you eat when hungry you really won't gain alot of weight. He thinks its when you eat when not hungry that you have to start paying attention...yep I know I have done that before.

Last week (past 2 weeks) I haven't exercised. I got sick and they thought I had strep throat but tested and I didn't. But I finished my antiobiotic and I did Total Body yesterday. I am just picking back up where I left off on the calendar.

last week was a bad week. Not a lick of exercise. By the end of the week, i couldn't exercise even though i wanted to. i had a thyroid biopsy and was told that i could not lift anything more than 5 lbs (even though I am pretty sure my purse weighs more than that) and I couldn't do any aerobics or jogging/.

I did chest and back today. here's hoping that i get back into the swing of things

So I gained the 4 pounds I lost. I think its water weight but I don't know, it makes me mad though!! I was doing good, consistent on being good eating and exercising.
So today I caved and had a small ice cream at lunch.

I did shoulders and arms and cardio challenge earlier this week. I did legs today. Today is day 14 on the exercise calendar but, as I said before, I am totally not doing these on consecutive days due to my work schedule. But I can say that I have at least exercised more CONCSISTENTLY since I restarted the program This week is one of the few weeks that I actually worked out more than just once (Monday) a week. So, I am happy!

So far I have finished 20 days of it! I might not do workouts this weekend though because I will be out of town. So I might finish in maybe 90+ days instead of 90 days. I have been writing a star on each day after I finish though so I will finish each workout dvd day though.

Friday night I did Ultimate ball. Still a tough workout...some of the ones where you put your foot/leg on the ball and squat are almost impossible. So I took my ball over to the wall and lodged it in between my treadmill and the wall. The ball was really caged it, it wasn't going anywhere! And I just turned around to do the other leg. And I even had the treadmill to grab if I lost my balance. Afterwards I did a few minutes of jumping rope. Wish our ceiling in the basement was higher. I keep hitting the yellow insulation stuff with my rope...that can't be good can it?
Yesterday on the calendar it says rest day. I actually didn't work out...I had hit my goal of 100 exercise days in a row a bit around when I started this thing so I went over 100 days in a row exercising, figured I deserved a rest day. I think I am 17 days in...more than half a month.
Today is the Tabata workout. One of my least favorites...oh well. Its less than 30 minutes I think. I could survive...

Back and chest last night. I think its my favorite dvd so far. I paused it alot to keep up. I also tried different weights.
I tried 20 for the bent over rows-nope too heavy. I could maybe do it 2-3 times but not 8 which surprised me hearing our back is strong. Couldn't chest press it either. Ended up using 15 for most of those exercises though, so a little more than I was using before (13 pounds)
Also I put my ball near the wall so the ones with the ball I used the wall to stabalize a little like the prone press and the one where your on your tummy and crunch.
So I kind of made things easier but harder. I'm really hungry today. Anyone else get hungry after doing these workouts? I'm out of greek yogurt, had to settle for a kashi bar...

Legs last night but no jump roping.
Will do chest and back tonight and if time/I feel up to it will do a few minutes of jump roping for extra cardio.
Had some cinnamon cake this morning but then decline Chinese lunch and stuck to my salad. So I am feeling like I made...balanced choices.

Cardio Challenge last night.
I weighed myself this morning, I didn't weigh last week. I am down two pounds! Very surprised after the weekend I messed up and had ice cream 3x. I keep thinking it has to be wrong,...like it was warm last night and I sweated 2 pounds and that is why I lost.
But now I am in the 180s!!

Oh wow here I thought they got ahead of me and I didn't finish them all.
Did shoulders & arms last night. Used up to 12.5 dumbbells on some! Like the cleans I used heavy, no problem. Biceps I used 12.5 but then 4 reps in I'd have to drop to 10s. I did keep up with them the whole time, didn't feel left behind.
I'm not sure today though. No idea why. Last week I did this Monday and was still feeling it some on Friday.
After my workout I put in a cd and used my jump rope a little. Just to 2 songs though and I don't jump rope the entire time because I mess up after just a few jumps...but I do what I can to add a little cardio in.
I'm doing better with food too. The weekend threw me but I am back on track.

I did chest and back today. That sensation that you missed a set is not just you. The actors/athletes only did 2sets of upper cuts and deadliest--they were supposed to do 3. Sally was ready to do the 3rd set but the guys had already put their weights down and the trainer did not notice.

It has to be working, I do feel sore days after. So it works right?
Friday night I did the ball workout. I have 2 different balls so I tried my other ball thinking it might be easier, but no. Even went barefoot...then after ball workout walked/little jogging on treadmill for 10 minutes then jumped with my jumped rope for a few minutes. Not sure how long, I didn't do it continuously, more like I jumped until it hit my legs then I had to start over. Also, I workout in the basement so a few times the rope hit the ceiling at the top before I held more of it in my hands with the handles.
Yesterday I went to the park planning to walk. I did 4 laps but not altogether. My sister and her family was there with the kids & dog. So I hung out with them and walked every now and then-you know? so I only got 4 laps.
Also they brought ice cream so I had ice cream too...so not exactly what I wanted...ice cream instead of a workout.
Today is Tabata workout

DAGNY99, do what you can do. The people in the video do go really fast. Sometimes I will pause the video so that I can catch up, sometimes I may do the lesser number of reps (Tom usually says to do between 8-12). Today, I did legs, but due to time, I only did the first circuit in addition to the warm up and cool down. I think it's a plus just for us to actually DO the workout. For me, to do a workout on SUNDAY is a major accomplishment!

When I do lunges, I keep the weights down at my sides. If you want to work your arms, you could hold them up either in hammer curl position or all the way like you're about to do a shoulder press

Chest and back last night. I think its been a week since I started this.
I think the workouts go really fast. The people go really fast, I can't keep up. I'm on like one exercise and they are ahead. Should I do what I can or should I press pause? I think I missed a set of exercises in that one circuit because they moved on...
Push pause? hmm...

Did legs last night. Used 10 and 12 pound dumbbells but not for all exercises.
I am bad at lunges. I lose my balance alot doing them, not squats just lunges so some of the lunges I did with no weights. Hope thats not cheating? Didn't want to lose balance with a heavy weight. I remember first learning lunges with 30 day shred. I thought they were doing calf streches I could never figure it out.
And where do you hold your dumbbells during legs? It feels like they get in the way, I like the summo squats with the weight like a kettlebell swing because it doesn't seem to get in the way in that one.

I have restarted the workouts but I am not following their 90 day schedule, mainly due to work constraints and other obligations in the morning (my preferred workout time). So, I am doing the s90 workouts 3 times a week. I did chest and back today. And LUNA143, I don't think I have ever completed the program in the allotted 90 days but I did finish it (like may be 2 months later)

You are doing so well. When eating out - remember to order exactly what you want...Vegetables - dry & steamed. Grilled - no butter. emoticon Just use your brain when making food choices...dressing on the side, you know the drill. If you have resistance bands they work great too.

I should really dust off my bike too... I live near a canal with a tow path - very nice biking path. Today was the fitness trainer at the firehouse. Lots of shoulder work today. I was going to do shoulders & arms tomorrow, but will save it for Saturday and do a run instead. Saturday I leave town for work until the 4th. I will bring my running shoes and a couple of body weight DVD (tabata from S90 & one of my tacfit firefighter ones). I think I'll have access to a gym, but I don't usually gym lift - we'll see... I'm worried about my eating while traveling so will still try to Spark as much as I can to stay on track...

Much like you I got sidetracked. I find it easy to skip S90 much easier than anything else. I got back at it today with Back/Bi. I am considering skipping All Cardio and Tabata - considering I have running and/or biking. Hoping that is enough cardio.

Sorry to hear that you weren't feeling well - hope you are doing better? I got somewhat derailed over the past week - a lot going on and missed a few workout days.

I know what you mean about the legs routine and running. I started skipping that one when I started with the weekly training session at the firehouse, because they do a TON if squats and lunges - so consider that pretty much my legs routine day.

Got back to it...Did Back/Bi today. I have discovered I don't like doing Legs - it messes with my run days - legs are not happy if I have to do it after a long run and it won't work the day before a run.

Great job .... I am on a rest day from Supreme 90 Day. I did Chest/Shoulders/Tris yesterday..... once again, I found another exercise I have massive problems with : The Spider Walk. sometimes I feel like my forearms aren't long enough.

Ran 7+ miles this AM

I'm still here! Super busy week, so I'm way behind on Spark, but totally on track for food and fitness ...and...the scale is moving again - yay! I think I was trying to do too many things all at the same time (lose weight, gain muscle, increase speed, increase endurance). I think it will be better to break into phases. First phase - steady state for my workouts, and really focus on food and getting these last 10 (now 8 - yay) pounds off. Then I can start to focus on the fitness improvements.

So for this past week:
- Monday - chest & back
- Tuesday - intervals
- Wednesday - Tabata
- Thursday - Firehouse trainer
- Friday - Steady pace 5k

Today will be an active rest day. May do a small abs routine, as they've been feeling sort of neglected (I haven't been doing ultimate ball - really don't feel the time to value ratio on that one...)

Was supposed to do a 5K today with my niece, but she's been sick the past week and with all the rain, we decided to pass (also part of the course is off road - gonna be a muddy mess I'm sure).

Have a great weekend!!

I did a steady pace run on Friday - it was a good one. No S90 the past two days. Saturday was our spring live burn for the fire department, so plenty of activity there - in full gear for 4 hours and climbing stairs, pulling hose, crawling around, etc. 16000+ steps according to my fitbit. This past year's focus on health and fitness is paying off - felt great! Yesterday was spent doing a lot of yard work and house cleaning - lots of running around and also 16000+ steps, so I'm ok with that. Today will be another busy day but hope to fit something in. Have a nice Memorial Day!

Well - I missed the last 2 days of Supreme 90. My calves were so tight - I had to abandon my run on Friday - so I didn't think doing legs would be great and didn't do cardio on Saturday.

I did manage to walk today and also do Total Body (day 22)

If you are overtraining your body will revolt like it did - sleep is the best thing it can get. With all your Personal training at the firehouse - I would skip S90 on those days for sure.

I will get a Tabata workout this afternoon.

Well... My one rest day turned into four... I think I was run down (came home early from work Monday and immediately took a 2 hour nap). Back at it today. 4 mile run at a reasonable pace - felt great! Tomorrow is the full body circuit training with the trainer at the firehouse. We'll see what Friday brings, but likely another run. Maybe intervals.

So this last week wasn't the best - Friday I skipped Cardio Challenge...Saturday I did run, but skipped Legs as I was moving a car load from my son's house...another car load to go this coming weekend. Sunday - I was an animal: Walked, biked, and did Chest and Back. Planning on doing Supreme 90 Ultimate Ball this afternoon after a 5.53 run with intervals this morning.

Thanks for your input - yes, overtraining had crossed my mind. I was going through a period where I wasn't even feeling sore (like, at all) following my workouts. Now I am, and I do consider that a positive thing, but may have to back off slightly to find the right balance where I still have good energy through my runs. Anyway, will be taking a complete rest day today :).

I must have already picked your brain on the IT band (hard to remember who I ask what around here!) - I have been doing some of the exercises from the video, so maybe I will try some small inclines again and see how it feels. Now that I am looking at this site in more detail there is so much to learn about pacing and splits and all sorts of stuff! Thanks again..

Have a great Saturday!

First, it could be believe it or not you are overtraining. Your body isn't recovered from previous workouts - make sure you take a rest day from running or go easy running very low heart rate.

Inclines - well I only run outside in FL. It is difficult to get much on inclines, but I do have some small hills in my runs. Look at strengthrunning.com for his ITB rehab exercises. You can do them daily to strength it. I am lucky right now Tabata & Cardio Challenge fall on my walk days. I will move them around next week to find the same thing.

Last night was the trainer circuit training at the firehouse - pretty good, I tried to push myself.

This morning was a treadmill run (4mi). I notice my energy level during my last few runs has not been spectacular. My interval runs have been ok, but I've been dragging a bit during my steady pace run. Sometimes I've just been able to get in a groove and before I know it I've done more than the distance I've intended, but not so much lately.

Could be a number of things - I've upped my strength training, and have cut my calories slightly to get the scale moving again. Spring allergies also, so could be them or the meds. One day I'll find the right balance for increased strength, endurance, energy, and decreased weight & body fat.

Question for you - do you incorporate any inclines in your runs? I'm planning on a stair climb event in July, and incline running can help prepare. But I found it bothered my knee (IT band), so I backed off.

I love the Tabata DVD also - just having trouble finding where to fit it in with everything else!!

Have a great Friday! Best of luck to your son - sounds very exciting!

Congrats on the regular pushups. I typically do them, but at the end of some of the workouts my arms are so shredded that I am lucky I can do them on my knees.

Did Tabata workout yesterday ( I emoticon this workout) and today will be shoulders & arms. I will probably be missing my Legs workout on Saturday as I need to drive to my son and move out a load of his stuff - in preparation for his move to Dallas TX and his first job.

Awesome - enjoy the rest! Did my intervals today. Felt great!! Finding it hard to fit in both running routine and S90. Will see what I can do tomorrow.
