Today's baby step--or maybe giant step--is eating out for breakfast and lunch, having exactly 249 cal for the rest of the day--and determination to finish within range. I'm going to make it.

Today I took a bigger baby step! I have only been doing cardio for 5 mins a day. Well today I did a 10 min total body work out. It wasn't has hard as I thought. I haven't done any strength exercising before, mainly because of my knee. I didn't do it perfectly but I did do it!! I will break my cardio up to 2 5 min each tomorrow! emoticon

I just commented on your reorganised kitchen...hmmm dont know where it went. Anyhow what I did say was that its nice when our daughters take the initiative to help.....as sweet as they are or at least mine she always seems to be hurrying to do other things. Maybe its my fault and I dont ask for help.

There is nothing like an organised kitchen. I have plenty of space so that is quite easy. yes the recipe counter is fantastic, I dont cook much because I am on my own but even when I do I tend to use it and its such a help. Still love my swimming so am gliding along nicely. Also am on track for once in my life, such a good feeling. Good luck to you and keep focused
Kay xx

Today I started expanding my use of the Spark people site. Using the receipe calculator, I descovered that my peanut butter cookies that only have 3 ingredients, have 200 cals. each!!
It is a really great tool and I'm going to start checking every thing I make. emoticon

That sounds wonderful!! We are in the middle of winter so not much opportunity for swiming. I'm going to check into a health club in the next town. I heard they had an indoor pool. Were we were traveling so much for our business I have never checked it out. But now that we're retired (2 weeks now) I think its something I would like. Thank you so much for sharing with us!!

How nice to be given the opportunity to tell you about my baby steps.
I have added daily swimming (well almost every day) to my daily calorie counting and the occasional bit of light weightlifting. I know at my age I need to stay strong so the weights and the swimming are my two choices (for now).

Even though I have a complete gym in the house (a bit of dust on it at the moment emoticon ) I have taken up swimming again. I guess its because it is so very easy, extremely enjoyable and the best calorie burner that I know. If I swim for an hour I can burn 700 calories, half an hour half of that......phew such an easy (and lazy) way for me. Im kicking myself for letting it go for so long, whatever was I thinking.

Well thats my story for now and can highly recommend a slow swim.

I added 1 min to my excersize time today! My baby step for today. Went to the doctor this morning. My wound from the historectomy is still not closed. Going on 5 months now. But it is getting smaller. Then went grocery shoping and had to buy a new microwave to go over my stove. The old one died yesterday. Now if I can just get the hubby to install it!!! Come on team post what your going to do for your baby steps to give us all some ideas!

Yesterday I did two things, actually three. I logged in what I ate, I hooked my pedimeter to my waist and I went to B&N and found The Spark.
I lost 25 lbs by logging and walking last year.I want to lose more. You gave me the push to do it because of what was said yesterday,6 month on the program. I want to do more in these 6mos than the last 6 mos.
Looking thur the pages of The Spark, I was shocked to find someone from my town as a success story. That hit home! I was instantly proud of her. Home town pride and all! If she can do it and have a write up in a book, well she passed the spark on to me and she doesn't even know it. emoticon emoticon emoticon

Make today count! Drink water! it flows!

Change can be hard!! No change IS hard!! So by taking small steps can make it easier. Every day pick one small thing to change. If you have to keep working on it for a little while that's fine. This is a life long journey! Once that change has become habit, Choose another to work on. You'll be suprised how little things will add up. It's not an "all or nothing" way of life. Baby Steps!!!!!
This week I'm working on eating breakfast.
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO CHANGE?
