From the sparkmail page, look to your right side of the screen and down a little and see if you have a heading titled: Quick Links. If you do, you can click on My Spark Teams and it will get you to all your teams and you can just click on this one (or whichever one you are going to.)

Another way is to look at the top of the page in orange, it should say START on a tab. Click on that and in that window, look to your right and it will say Jump to a Spark Team (the column is probably green.)

Let me know if these work out for you.

Hello,

How can I access the team forum the most easily? Currently, I am looking in my sparkmail, and clicking on the message board links that you've previously sent us. Is there somewhere on the drop down menus that I'm not seeing?

You may need to change your email options - if you go to your START page (not personal page) you should see in small letters towards the top left side, email options. Check and make sure you are still set to get them. Should not take more than 24 hours to reset with a name change!

As always, let me know if you run into any problems.

Thank you so much Krys,

The change of username worked except I am not getting the spark emails anymore. I guess it takes a few days to get reset.

I still do not get additional allowed calories for mileage exercise suppose mileage does not allow for more calories, only strength exercise. I am not there yet. I try to stick with the walking for now.

Thanks again for your help. emoticon

Hi Kris210,

This is a new experience with a good start. I already lost 1 pound even with a short trip overseas this past week end.
Question 1
How could I change my username? I was not sure what would be the use of it during set up. Question 2
I try to walk 5 km week days and 10 to 20Km on week end days. My average speed is 5K an hour. Someone told me exercise would add some calories to my daily goal but it does not. Perhaps walk is not considered an exercise or I need to restrict the calories regardless of exercise considering the weight I have to loose?
Thank you for your help.

Recommendations can sometimes be taken with a grain of salt! You do what you think is best for you, sometimes the computers just go by the numbers and not by the people.

Just making sure I understand: The only change I made to my goals was to add 10,000 steps. So it is now recommending I have higher caloric intake? This is still confusing to me because I was already getting 10,000 steps, I just wanted a box to check on my goal page. Hmmmm. I am really stunned by the calorie change. I'm 5'4 and weigh 184. I can't imagine my needing 1700 calories and still expect to lose weight...

Oh well.
Thanks for explaining the 'why' of the change!

When you make changes to your weight goal or fitness goal pages, SparkPeople will automatically recalculate your needs and provide a calorie range based on the current information. If you would like to keep your own ranges, you should not make any changes to your goal pages.

However, the ranges SparkPeople recommends are based on your current weight, weight goal, and the amount of activity you are doing. So, if the range you are recommended is different than your own range, you may want to consider switching to the higher range as that may better fit your current needs. I hope this helps!

When I first started, last week, it posted my calorie goals to be between 1200 (it was 12something) and 1500 (15something.) This week it is higher. What changed? Why? Now it is between 1300 and 1700. Makes no sense to me. I have not logged any weight change and I'm confused. Thanks!

Thank you Krys! That's useful to know about the Team blog feed, I will be sure to check that out regularly.

I think I found a way to view my friend's blogs better it's called the "friend feed" lol
http://www.sparkpeople.com/friend_feed_h
ome.asp
And there's a button on that page to check off things to watch for or not.
I do think the email notification is nice, but I like to be able to see a larger "view" of what's going on if that makes sense.
Thanks again!
Dee

If I remember correctly, the ones you subscribe to should be sent to via email or the RSS feed you chose to get them with. I could not find anything specifically on that topic, but did find this article on blogs: www.sparkpeople.com/resource/motivat
io
n_articles.asp?id=1239

I do know that you can see all the blogs from a team by going to the right side of the page. You have a Team Leader heading, a Team Stream heading and under this is a See All Team: Blogs. Not sure that would help you but it would be an easy way to catch all the blogs.

Not sure this is what you were looking for, but hopefully a little helpful?

Hi Krys,
What is the most efficient way to read member blogs I have subscribed to? Is there a single page that shows them collectively with their latest posts/titles in some kind of summary format?
Thanks,
Dee

Hope this helps answer your questions. Let me know if you need more directions:

Q* How do I add or edit the weight loss ticker, profile picture and/or a signature to my message board posts?
A* You'll need to create a SparkPage to add these to your message board signatures. Go to the Community tab at the top of any page and select SparkPages.
Click Create a New SparkPage (or View Your SparkPage, then Edit SparkPage if you already have one).
Complete the information for the title and description of your SparkPage. Your SparkPage can also be used as a personal homepage to share information about yourself with other members.
Scroll down to the bottom of the page to see the weight loss ticker. Should be under the box with your teams listed.
Check the box that says "Yes, show my weight loss ticker."
Put in your starting weight and goal weight. Please note that your current weight on your ticker will update automatically when you weigh in, but we will not update your ticker starting and goal weight if you change your goals on your program; you'll need to update starting and goal weight on your SparkPage.
Select your ticker icon.
Select your ticker background.
Click "Save Changes" at the bottom or top of the page. VERY IMPORTANT any time you make a change.

Q* To edit your ticker:
A* Scroll down the page to your ticker, make any necessary changes.
Click Save Changes at the top or bottom of the page.

Q* To add your profile picture:
A* Go to the box at the bottom right of your page labeled “Profile Image.”
Click “change this image”. You can select a picture from your gallery or click “browse” at the bottom of the page to find another picture on your computer to upload.
Click "Save Changes" at the bottom or top of the page.

Q* To enter text for your signature:
A* Enter it in the "Personal Signature" box on the right side of the page. (just above your profile picture.)
Click "Save Changes" at the bottom or top of the page.

On the Nutrition Tracker under the SEARCH button there is a place to enter your own food and enter whatever nutritional information you have for it. Be sure to click SAVE. You can then add it to your favorites if it is something you eat often.

Does this help?

How do I enter a food on the tracker when I don't know the recipe, and I don't have any information except the calorie count and the fat count? For example, I ate breakfast out this morning. I had an egg white omelette that had 15 grams of fat and 500 calories total. I don't know any other counts. I can't enter it in the nutritional tracker...I ended up putting an omelette in that had 47 grams of fat because I couldn't figure out (without knowing the recipe, etc.) how to put that in.

Any suggestions?
Thanks!
