Glad you are back! I'm able to log in again at work but only long enough to check in etc. Need to get back into the swing of things but time is not on my side these days.

Glad spring is finally here. But the sunny days just show how dirty the house is!

I can only speak for myself, in the past I would "spark" in the morning before work. For the past year, I have been walking before work. A good exchange but it limits my time here. I used to get emails from the team but haven't had many lately. I wonder if they are going to my spam folder. I really enjoy the challenges and find them motivating. I have been coming back to Spark People about once a week. Its a start!

True. There's alot of activity out there (blogs, etc) but just not on the Team Page. I still need the team for support. I'm nowhere near where I want to be. Got to work through the outside forces. But at least I'm maintaining and not gaining. That's a plus. I've thought about joining a new "Class" to help re-energize but I don't need one more team. I did really well on that EOY challenge we had. Although I am by no means competitive, it sure helped. When I have some free time . . . I think I'm going to explore another challenge like that one.

Well, I guess our team is pretty old (almost 2 years!). Maybe a lot of them "graduated". I need to stay though, at least for now. I know how easy it is to get distracted and fall into old habits. Even though I have my crazy days, SP keeps me conscious and helps me maintain.

Well despite the weather, spring is in the air. I have a couple of bunches of yellow crocuses that are blooming. And the woodpecker is back. He's been around for a good long time - years. Always comes back right about now.

Ahh, that makes sense. It was cold again today, but I swear the sunshine is screaming SPRINGTIME! I think my cold is finally in its last stages. I feel about 90% right now. It went pretty quick (1 week) and wasn't too horrible, in comparison to some of the colds I've been hearing about.

Nope, south suburbs of Chicago, right near Indiana border, southwest tip of Lake Michigan. So whatever you get we usually get a day later.

Today bright and sunny and about 22 degrees. I think we may get many inches of snow on Sunday if the front comes through the way it showing right now.

No sign of spring here, either.

HAPPY SPRING!

Glad the sun is shining and the days are a little longer. Not liking it being dark again in the morning. High of 22 today and maybe some snow flurries! Nice for the first day of spring. The rest of the week not much better. That's ok. I'm inside all day, working hard....or hardly working because of the interruptions....not sure which.

Eating pretty good this week. Trying to get back on track. But I'm sooo hungry by the end of the day because I can't eat three plus meals sitting at my desk. hmmm......

Happy Belated Saint Patrick's Day!!!

I was sick all weekend, so didn't really celebrate. Although, I'm not sure I really do much to celebrate that holiday anyway (even though I'm plenty Irish.. or is it Scottish? I dunno, I'm a little bit of everything it seems). I do enjoy gazing at all of the green colored cakes and goodies at the store, haha! But, just looking, no touching/eating. So, I'm still sick today, but feeling a little better, hopefully I'll recover soon!

Happy St. Patrick's Day early! What is everyone doing to celebrate?

We are walking with the Girl Scouts in the parade in downtown Chicago along the lake. Going to be chilly - somewhere around 35 but at least the rain/snow moved out. It's not a long parade but it will last about three hours. After that possibly go in to work for a couple of hours (yuk). The usual running around and maybe catch up on some stuff around the house. Make corned beef and cabbage tomorrow. Catch up on Biggest Loser (4 episodes) before the finale on Monday. Try to take a nap. HA!

We've been in the 30s and 40s with 20s overnight. Some snow over the past few days but nothing to write home about. Unfortunately when spring comes it's usually warm and humid and it's just about here. My hyacinths and daffodils are about 4 inches up already. And the birds wake me up around 2:30 every morning.

Spring???? It has been between 65-70 here. I love it but am afraid that Summer will be here in just a couple of months and I love Spring! The older I get, the faster the seasons come.

Maybe you shocked your system?!?!?!?! Good for you. I'm back down too. Love that water weight. My problem right now is stress eating. At least I'm not gaining.

OK, not sure how this happened, but I lost the entire 6 lbs in 24 hrs!!!

Guess it was ALL water weight, but even so, it usually takes me days to lose water weight, especially that much. So, I ended up "officially" losing one pound this week (which is where I was Saturday morning).

I had a blast last night! It was a good friend's 40th and they rented a party room at a restaurant. It was really an awesome time. I started out really good with the food, sticking to the fruit tray, but my resilience wore down as the night went on (we were there for 6 hours). I had a piece of cake, some ice cream and a ton of jelly beans (haha, jelly beans are always a recurring theme for my friends and I!). I stuck with water and one diet soda, no drinks for me. But, then I also tried some of the nachos (they were make-your-own, so I skipped the cheese and the meat). They shouldn't have been that crazy (mostly veggies, the chips and a little sour cream). I also had some of the sesame chicken, about 3 or 4 tenders, so not much...

Anyhow, I thought I did good, but I gained 6 pounds from yesterday morning to this morning!?!?!? Of course, that is going to be almost all water weight (I'm guessing from the chicken or the chips? I really didn't have much of either though, so it's weird. I guess you can never trust restaurant food in regards to sodium). I doubt I'm going to drop that before my official weigh-in tomorrow morning. Not too worried, it's just unfortunate timing. I'm sure everything will be back to normal by the following Monday.

Hope you had fun at your friend's party!

We went to my cousin's daughter's 6th birthday. They ordered Cici's pizza and I ate a couple of pieces too many. But I took the smaller of the pieces - not trying to make excuses but she had so many different varieties it was hard. And then I had a small glass of sangria and then drank way too much lemon water. We stayed way too late and I lost several hours of sleep in addition to the hour time change. But you know what? I didn't care. It felt good and I was having fun. After these last few weeks at work (I'm on working day 7 and have 6+ more to go before a day off) and it'll be like this for at least a month, I just didn't care. Best part was when I weighed myself this morning (as I do just about every day), I was up half a pound. Probably water. Maybe not. We shall see.

Back to running around and working......

Hard to believe winter is almost over and we are now starting to get the snow!!! I always look forward to spring. The longer days, bright and sunny, open the windows for fresh air and feel like there is more of a pep in the step.

Okay, I somehow messed up my SparkPeople settings and didn't get any message notifications, so I missed pretty much all of February! Oh well, March is here....is anyone else excited for Spring?
