The data from Oregan State University, Linus Pauling Institute for micronutrient research indicates that there is no set RDA for potassium. Supplements of potassium are not recommended because of the body's inability to excrete excess amounts. Intake from foods is best. They list an "adequate intake" level as 4700 mg daily for adults. Sparkpeople lists a daily goal of 4500-6000. It is a good idea to eat some potassium rich foods every day.

Thanks for that reminder and the list! What is the RDA for potassium? I have been focusing more on my magnesium and calium.
