Sounds like you're doing all the right things! Celebrate your successes, and keep your focus as you have been, on "Doing the do's so you don't have time (or desire) to do the don'ts"!

Another thing that I have found has helped me to get focussed is I committed to run a half marathon in May. Knowing I need to fuel my body for training has been a surprising inspiration for me!

Everything you want is right there, just outside your comfort zone

I just seem to have lost ALL self-control recently. I do fine with my workouts and I've been extremely self-disciplined with my food for 6 years. I'm not sure what has happened recently but it needs to stop. I feel absolutely horrid today.

I have found that since I track everything I eat, I can eat just a little bit of candy or cookies, or chips and dip. I bought a box of Girl Scout cookies last week. Four of them have 160 calories. Knowing that, I can stick to just eating four of them. Before I would have eaten the whole box in one or two sittings. Today I had 6 Doritos and a tablespoon of ranch dip for only 105 calories, instead of half a bag for who knows how many!

I'm just upset with myself because I've been doing SO well. Now I am scared to do my Friday weigh-in. I can tell, though, that after only a week on the diet (and I'll admit I haven't been going strictly by the book) my tastes for sugar has changed. After having the cake last night and this morning, my usual pumpkin oatmeal swirl breakfast (which normally tastes wonderful) didn't seem to have much flavor.

I wouldnt' call that weak-willed. I would call that human. This "diet" is not about depriving yourself of things that you love. I think that a once a weak chocolate splurge is fine, as long as you are eating healthy and exercising the rest of the week. Don't beat yourself up about it. Everyday is a new day so you should treat it like one. At least for me, if I dwell on a poor food choice, I usually end up making even poorer choices the next day because I give up. Don't give up!!

Well, I've been doing this diet for JUST over a week. Unfortunately, sugar is my weakness and I had a breakdown with fudge marble cake with cream cheese and fudge icing yesterday. *sigh* Does anyone else have a major propensity for sugar, and how long did it take you to get over your sugar cravings? Or am I just incredibly weak willed? emoticon
