Thanks Aniduck -- appreciate any info. I have Nature's way on subscription through Amazon also.

Everyone else who responded -- thanks so much.

I've been using Nutiva for a pretty long while--ever since Amazon offered it so inexpensively in one of their "subscribe & save" deals. Well, the price went up and I just saw that Vitacost sells it for less under their own label. I have used the Vitacost brand for other supplements for years (it used to have a different name on the label but Vitacost still claimed it as their own.) They finally put their name on the bottles.

Anyway, I have ordered my first jar of Vitacost coconut oil. I'll let you know how I like it.

I've tried several brands of coconut oil, I actually prefer the Nutivia. It does have some coconut taste to it, but I find it adds a pleasant flavor to things. I do have some other here by Glorybee Honey (called Aunt Patty's) it doesn't have the coconut taste, so can be better for frying steak or something.

I just heard on Dr. Oz show today, even HE said that one should have 1TBSP coconut oil daily! I was surprsed, he's always so anti-fat.

I get my Coconut Oil from a local health food store.
The owner is a fellow Woman of Faith!
I just warm it enough to our some in a small container
with a tight fitting lid. I add small container and all to
my bath water. After I towel dry I dip my end of finger
in the oil, rub my hands together and massage into my
skin. It doesn't take much.
I don't know if it has any sun protection in it or not. But,
it does keep your skin from drying out from sun exposure.
My 18 yr. old DGS says my hands are as soft as a baby's
bottom! Pretty good indorsement from a teen-ager, right?
If I want to use fragrance lotion, I just put a dab of lotion
on my skin and dip my finger in the oil than rub my hands together
and apply.
I love the brand of Coconut Water I buy. It has chunks of
coconut in it. When I start drinking it, I don't want to stop.
One last thing, I just bought some Coconut Milk today. I am
anxious to try it. You think I like Coconut?

Arlene,
Vitacost's own brand of coconut oil is cheaper especially if you buy it in the 54 oz size. They just re-bottle perfectly high quality things using their own label. I believe you can trust the Vitacost brand...but maybe you don't want to buy that much at once. Coconut oil lasts forever even in the cupboard so no worries there. But you do have to order $25 worth of stuff to get free shipping.

It is a nice group. There is a link to recipes somewhere too.

I also have unsweetened coconut flakes I add to foods sometimes. It gives them some yummy flavor (like my greek yogurt)

You are so sweet! I will have been on spark a year on June 22nd.

You always looked great!

Hey Karen-- nice to see you too! You look sooooo good - just seems like yesterday!

Laura has done so much work on this site -- so much information. It is taking me awhile to go through it all but I'll make it.

Yesterday I ordered Nature's Way EfaGold Organic, pure extra virgin Coconut oil from Amazon. Should get it tomorrow. Is this the right stuff? Or do any of you have suggestions as to what I should have bought... emoticon
