Congrats to all you who smoked and have quite. That is not an easy thing to do and you have to feel proud of yourselves for having quite and stuck to it. The way I figure it, if you can do that, you can do anything. I really don't believe anyone has a "bad habit" they wish to change that cannot be broken or is worse or harder to break than to quit smoking.

Isn't our overeating, or wrongful eating just a bad habit? Are we not trying to learn how to exchange that bad or wrongful habit with something better?

We can do this! Push yourselves.

I started smoking as a teenager, quit when I was pregnant and babies were young but went back repeatedly. Finally, I decided to make 1.1.2000 my quit day and have stuck to it now for 13+ years=)

Just a note to let you all know that I miss you all on the huddle. Can we get that going again. I feel so alone out here when you all don't huddle.

Let's start building our Cyber world again, too. That was fun. emoticon

I tried smoking with my cousins. I never inhaled as I had asthma back then worse than I do now. If I came close to inhaling, it made me cough for quite awhile, so that never took. I did smoke a cigar one time, in order to keep the mosquitos away. Again, couldn't inhale, but somehow there was some smoke that made it in and it gave me a headache and I had the taste of that nasty thing for days, even after brushing my teeth and mouth for several minutes and several times everyday. Did keep the mosquitos away - so that theory does work, and I'm not sure which is worse, the spray or the cigar. But I'd probably go with the spray over the cigar.

Good question. emoticon Garnered some good answers.

I tried cigs - they made me dizzy - didn't like the taste of them. I tried the cherry cigarellos - little cigars and I liked those. They tasted better but the smoke gave me heartburn really bad so I quit like after a week or two. Thank heavens.

I tried a puff or two from a cigarette once or twice but didn't like it. I'm SO glad I didn't! All the money I've saved on cigarettes over the years has gone into my fabric stash, I think! emoticon

No never smoked. Never tried. My 2 sisters did. And my step mother did so it was hard going anywhere when I was younger step mom( she is evil) would smoke in the car and would blow it at me on purpose. I would have jacket over my face when ever I had to drive with her. I could barely breath I felt like my lungs were always burning. When ever I smell it now to this day ( almost 20 years) it takes me a second to get my panic of not breathing under control. Panic attack scary. So when I usually take about my fathers ex I say sep monster because she was and monster family. When they moved into our house she convinced my father since I would be going to college in 2 years. I should not have a bedroom so iwas moved to the best a person with allergies to mold great place to live. I was thankful when I went to college. And on breaks my mother had a extra bedroom so I moved in with her. I never actually ever told anyone about all of that. As I type this I realized I am still a little angry about it. A year after their divorce my father asked for forgiveness. So I forgave him for being for putting evilness and her family first.

Today is a New Day!!!!

I used to smoke. I started at the age of 13 and smoked for 13 years.
I quit at age 26, (, I was pregnant with my second and in my 8th month. I cut back during the pregnancies but didnt seem to have the willpower until when I did. I believe the way I finally did it was by cutting back each day.). We never smoked in the house with the babies so that made me cut back.

In September it will be 22 years since I quit.

My husband quit the day after we were married. Cold turkey. To this day I don't know his reason. I didn't even know he was doing it. Or if he planned it.

My father died from COPD.

I'm not sure if this is a question that was ever asked...

Do you or have you ever smoked cigarettes?

How long?
