I am not watching the trial, even though several channels are throwing it in my face constantly. First, I don't care as Florida seems to have a penchant for judges wanting to be famous, lawyers that are total idiots and are so busy trying to make a name for themselves they couldn't lawyer a dog fight worth beans and a State that seems to think all the trials need to be sensationalized and produced on TV. We might, afterall, make it to the big screen or a book somehow and make a load of money.
The other thing I can't stand are people on TV having their own show like Nancy Grace and others that have all the answers. Zimmerman is a liar, Travon did no wrong. Bla, bla, bla. nancy Grace hasn't nailed a thing right since she's been on. I don't know why she has such a following.
The one thing they don't seem to look at is the state law that allows every citizen to carry a weapon (concealed) at any time, anywhere. That's the problem right there.
My feelings are this about Travon. He was a teenager, and lets face it, teenagers are not the smartest people or the best decision makers on the planet. They think they are, but we know better. I don't care what his parents say. His father showed what kind of person he is by his actions in the hallway of the courtroom when he cussed out a white guy for holding open the door for him instead of letting it slam in his face, I guess. His mother thinks he's perfect. What mother doesn't think their son is perfect?
Zimmerman was an everyday citizen without a job. He is a cop wannabe, in my opinion. He isn't a cop so he carries his gun to go on a neighborhood watch. I've been in neighborhood watches. You don't go on patrol, you don't carry a gun, and you don't get into it with the suspects. You stay in your house and call the cops. They are the ones that do the work, it's what they are paid and trained for. I bet he has a different opinion of what a neighborhood watch person should do now. I bet he wishes he'd never joined that little organization or had the foolish idea that he could carry his gun out and play cop and get away with it. He'll have to live with the fact that a teenager was killed with his gun for the rest of his life regardless of the outcome of a trial or who did what and I don't think we'll ever know for sure.
Florida needs to get rid of the gun law - or the lack thereof. We're going to have this kind of thing going on until they do get a better law.
Anyway, I don't think very many people are watching it, are interested in it, and I'm wondering how close to correct my thinking is.
I went to the doctor yesterday, and I'm set to go from the surgeon. Didn't even give me a follow up date. Now I keep doing what I was doing but getting to add small things along the way as I feel I can handle them. I am developing PAIN now. In my stomach area and they think it is scar tissue (adhesions) developing and they can't tell me anything to do for them. They only hurt when I move sometimes. I still can't do any lifting, pushing, or pulling, which means I can't use the slider to my patio cuz the thing weighs a ton, get's stuck so you have to push/pull it past the stuck place and I think it's a dirty track I can't see or fix right now.
So my strength exercises and water aerobics are still out. I can walk, but I am to go slow and increase speed and duration as I can. It takes 41 days to recover fully from this surgery and I'm on day 17. That means Aug 6th, I'll be recovered and should be able to get back to anything i want to do. So a month of slowly working to better is on my calendar. Now if I can keep my DH from killing himself with his computer cables that seem to wrap around his legs, we'll be alright!
Have a great one, all. Going to be another hot one today. Yesterday a tornado touched down and did some damage to some manufacture homes and a condo about 10 miles from here. We never even knew anything was going on because it was beautiful and quiet here. Today is a blue sky, not a cloud, and its 81° at 0857. Haven't been out there, but I bet it's sticky, too.
