Pictures take up a lot of space on a computer and will cause it to have problems. I highly recommend backing up computers to external hard drives. I have one that has my most important stuff on, but I am going to back up the entire computer on it one of these days, including the programs so if it gets zapped by a T-storm, which happened to me once, it'll be saved anyway. I try to backup the important stuff on a monthly basis, but starting next month, I'll switch to a weekly basis due to storm season.
Nice to see Janet back and WW, CW, and Deb - thanks for participating again, too. Deb and I have felt pretty lonely out here by ourselves. Understand how life can make changes for you even if you don't want it to.
I lost 3 pounds in the last few days, and it finally showed up in one lump on the scale this morning. My digital scale is dead with a battery that needs changing so I pulled out this old little thing with the dial that spins around. The thing is so small my feet overhang at both ends and the dial is so small I need a magnifying glass to read the darn thing. But I managed to read it correctly and put it in the machine to discover it was a total of 3 pounds down, not the one I was thinking. So great day for me, right there.
have a great one, all!

I don't have an external hard drive. My DH saves his stuff to a site that backs up stuff. I don't back up my stuff and I would really miss my pictures. I should have my DH teach me how to use the site too.
I have an external hard drive attached to my computer that I put all of my pictures on. After DH puts his pics on his computer he copies them to a flash drive so I can put them on my hard drive too. That hard drive is also copied to a larger one every year or so. We must have millions of hiking pictures saved, some of them in three places. Yikes! The best ones from each outing also go on Facebook which seems to be the best place for me to look if I want to find pics.
I no longer have as much time to sit at the computer. I am working more hours, DH is too, so I have to help with the cooking and cleaning more. And with springs nice weather and longer daylight I am outside more working in the yard etc. Sorry, I'm not posting much.
I bought one a year ago. I attempted to use it the other day to back up the computer I'm having issues with. Well the computer shutoff 5 times on me...the last when I was almost at the point where I was able to put the stuff on the external drive. So I gave up but will try again this weekend. It's for this very reason I bought this hard drive as you never know when a computer can go on you. And if it crashes, it's very possible to lose any photos music or documents you have.
