HI everyone,
I posted in the new member forum but wanted to add something here too. I'm relatively new to primal, I did it for a week and felt amazing. Then fell into sad last week while I super busy and didn't want to cook, so I ended up at fast food places 3 times last week. But I'm ready to get back on track. I'm going to follow primal 95% of the time, and I'm soothing for 100%. My boyfriend and I are both doing it, and have decided to have a prize for following it for a week of 100% primal.
I'm really looking forward to getting to know you guys and supporting each other on our journeys to getting healthy.

Hi team,
I am new to this group but not new to primal eating. I have been eating anything from 40 to 80% primal but not all the time. I am just coming back after a big slide off and eating the "normal" sad diet which caused me to gain weight back. I have made a decison to eat paleo 95%, my aim is for 100%.
I am just coming to the end of my first week of being 95% primal and am feeling good, lots of energy and have been sleeping a lot better.
I have ordered Marks new books, the one on sauces and the update to the primal blueprint, can't think of there names off hand.
The sauces book appealed to me because I like some sort of sauce on everything I eat, I don't like eating dry food.
I hope to get to know you all better over the coming months.

Happy Monday, all!
So yesterday was day 10 of eating primal and I'll tell you, I was in the best mood all day long! I wouldn't say I was swimming with energy (just average), but in terms of just feeling good - well, it was awesome!
I am crossing my fingers, toes, and every other body part I can think of, hoping that my diet was a significant part of that good mood, because if so, I'm doing this FOREVER.
As of my weigh-in this morning, I'm down 10.4 pounds also. Things be good!

Oh man, I could totally make deviled eggs too - that way I would definitely have plenty to eat. Great idea!

Easter Lunch. I am preparing sandwiches, devilled eggs, veggie plate, crackers and dip, cupcakes. However, I am preparing my own meal with grain free bread, crackers and cupcakes. I'm not giving up how I eat for the convenience of others.

Anyone have plans for the weekend?
I'm taking a break halfway through my workday and taking son #2 to an Easter Egg hunt at the local skating rink. Dyeing eggs tonight and doing a ton of cleaning outside and in.
Family Dinner Night (a monthly event at my house) is tomorrow. It's a bigger one this time, 21 people! Lasagna, garlic bread, antipasta salad, strawberry shortcake is on the menu. Can you tell we made this menu before I started primal eating?
We often do a craft or some other optional activity at these dinners. I thought it might be fun to do an Easter Egg hunt for everyone, including the adults. So I'm stuffing plastic eggs with candy, gift certificates for little things - bottles of wine, hot sauce, gum, etc. It should be fun.
Then Sunday - dreaded taxes.
Not sure how tomorrow's eating will go. I'm giving myself permission to eat whatever I want, but I think that unless I truly crave it, I'll probably just go really heavy on the salad and maybe pick at the lasagna, avoiding the noodles.
I'm pleased that it's another morning with weight loss - that's 7 days in a row. I know it can't continue like that, but I'm enjoying it while I can.

So last night I sliced pork loin and sauteed it in olive oil, roasted asparagus, and did a cauliflower smash. Even my picky 12-year old ate the cauliflower (though he would have preferred potatoes!).
I slow caramelized a big batch of onions last night. They're like liquid gold to use with eggs and other dishes.
So far, so good on the weight front, which is good. I'm very heavy and I have booked a trip in October to London, Paris, and Rome. I want to not be uncomfortable on the plane, as well as having plenty of energy to tour the cities.

After my morning workout I will either have a home made primal energy bar or a protein shake. Then for lunch I usually have some kind of eggs (usually poached) on top of wilted spinach, diced tomatoes and maybe a slice of paleo bread. Sometimes I even top it off with some hollandaise. Mid-afternoon, if I feel hungry I may grab a handful of nuts. Then dinner is usually some form of protein (grass-fed steak or some wild rd snapper crusted in almond flour and pan fried in coconut oil), along with a BIG salad. Sometimes I will also broil some tomato slices with provolone cheese on top, or some steamed broccoli or whatever kind of veggies I have on hand. I pretty much always have some form of dessert. It never contains sugar though... Maybe some homemade stevia sweetened ice-cream, or panna cotta, or coconut panna cotta. Maybe sprinkle a few berries and/or some nuts, or homemade coconut grain-free granola on top.

Got to love the butter! Actually, we had plenty, at breakfast on the mushrooms and dinner with the green beans and garlic. Yumm.... Tonight, pork medallions and mashed cauliflower.

Happy Wednesday, everyone. Well, I mentioned yesterday that my plan is to wake up and, if I didn't lose any weight, do IF that day, at least for all but one meal. Woke up this am - no change in weight. But here's how weasly I am. Since I was up so early, I hung out and read a bit, then used the restroom again in about 45 minutes. Ta da! 1/2 pound lost. Yay! No IF today!
So what do y'all eat in any given day? I'm still so new at this, figuring my way.
Breakfast - sauteed mushrooms scrambled with eggs and a bit of bacon. Lunch - homemade cabbage, leek, chicken soup. Dinner - sauteed green beans with almonds, garlic butter shrimp Snacks - a few roasted almonds, an ounce or so of dark chocolate
I'm not hungry during the day and don't feel deprived. But I know things go in waves and there will come some days when I am hungrier than others. But I can deal.

Good morning all. I'm on day 6 of eating primal. So far, so good. I weigh everyday and have gone down every day. I'm all for trying some intermittent fasting, so I'm playing a little game with myself. If I weigh one morning and have no loss at all, I'll IF that day. Otherwise, I'll continue to eat primal (I don't log everything) and keep chugging along.
I am a little challenged in that I cook for my two children (9 and 12), my twin nephews (21), and now, my mom, who's staying with us after a heart attack scare. So I'm trying to just do primal, then I add a starch for the guys. My mom is trying to eat my way while she stays with us this week.
I took the plunge and did a 3- month subscription to the Paleo emeals plan. I'll cancel after 3 months. The recipes are delicious and easy and appealing to the family too.
Anyway, it's all good so far!

It is a way of eating for life...I was thinking about that. I LOVE diets. They all say they are NOT diets but I lost 70# "Eating Clean" That stopped working. So I added the same principles to "low carb" Stopped working. Just stall, plateau. I like the self discipline of a "diet" I'm good at it! I stayed a vegetarian (McDougal style) for a whole year, and I LOVE meat! Now I am doing Fast 5. I'm always trying to lose that last 5-10 pounds and if I don't switch up the routine not only with exercise, but with the way I eat, I just stall. My "way of eating for life" is a lifetime of one diet after another.

I agree with Allison. I think I'll go back to the basics & just start making some small changes each week. Maybe that will kick start my old convictions for good health!

Still working out the details, but it will definitely be lower carb and gluten free for health reasons. Fitness is always tough for me, but I have some ideas that I'm pretty excited about to get myself on a roll. I've found that once I do that and have some momentum, it's much easier to keep trucking along. The hardest part of this journey is getting moving from a dead stop!

Low Carb, and Fast 5. Just have to get over this holiday sugar thing! I can't wait for the weather to be nice enough to walk more, and I think until then I'll start going to the local indoor pool more often.

I'm so glad to have ignored my doctors about low carb eating and just started the success I've had. My goal is to slowly show my doctor who I do like, that this is a healthy walk. I intend to get several test done. B12 (again..been low for years) D3 (again) and iodine. Then for the hdl/ldl issues (for the doctor) I'm having a scan.
Doctors stop treating once you barely fall into the brackets. I know there is a better balance to it than that.

HAPPY SUNDAY! Hope you're all having a great weekend. This year is almost gone and we have a brand new year to reach our healthy weight loss goals. What will you be doing to reach yours? For me, I'll be doing low carb, and I'm cutting out all artificial sweetners. Bob and I have also joined a fitness center and will be going there 3 times a week. It's only a 5 minute drive from the house so no excuses not to go. I don't know how much of the 65 lbs I'll be able to lose in 2013 but I'm going to lose just as much of it as I possibly can.
